After rebirth, I picked up my mortal enemy as my apprentice Chapter 063

Now that it’s on the shelves, what should I talk about? Let me talk about my excitement, but I don’t seem to be very excited.

I’ll play the victim, but I never expected to make a living by writing.

So let’s talk about how this book came about.

In fact, before writing this book, I had already written an article with an introduction of more than 30,000 words and an outline of more than 5,000 words. The title of the book is “The Devil Lady Never Cries”.

It tells the story of a demon hunter girl who has half the demon’s blood and hunts all kinds of alien species.

Why did I want to write the story of Miss Devil? It stems from my dissatisfaction with the fantasy and magic novels I read recently, especially the popular fantasy novels on Abao.

Every time a human plot appears, the magical creatures in it always have to argue: Although I am evil, I am still far inferior to the evil of you humans.

If she was a witch, then she must have been treated as a heretic when she was young, and was thrown eggs, thrown stones, and burned at the stake by ignorant fools.

If it was Long Ji, then Miss Long Ji must have been abducted by humans when she was young and experienced the dangers of the world…

If vampire, then Miss Vampire’s family was affected by the human war…

I’m annoyed. It’s an anthropomorphic creature doing human things. It has to be a bit lame because of the trauma of childhood humans, right?

During that time, I had a passion and dissatisfaction that needed to be vented, and thus the story of Miss Devil was born.

What? You said you were oppressed by religion and persecuted by ignorant people and turned into a witch? But what does this have to do with me?

Ah… You said that you were trafficked into human society when you were a child, suffered all kinds of injustice, and only took revenge on humans after you grew up. But most of the people you targeted have never seen you.

You come again? You said that humans are more evil than you vampires, starting wars and creating tragedies for their own selfish desires? I don’t understand what you are saying, I’m just a demon hunter passing by.

No matter if it’s Vampire Princess, Dragon Princess, Dream Demon Princess, Charm Princess, or Witch Lady…I want to spread all the xx princesses that have been popular in Abao’s fantasy novels.

And I’m only telling you off because I’m a demon hunter.

Your sorrows and joys have nothing to do with me.

After writing tens of thousands of words with this enthusiasm, I posted some of the content to the group for my friends to see.

The general feedback was – it was very bad, and the conversation went something like this.

My group friends asked me: Is this a remarriage?

Me: Maybe? I hadn’t thought about the love story at all, and I hadn’t planned to add a transformation setting, but Lanlan said that if I were to write a female protagonist story in Abao, it would be best to follow the local customs and add it.

A group member asked: So what kind of story are you going to tell?

Me: Tell a story, draw all the alien species that Abao has popularized, and express my anthropocentric fantasy story.

(Begins to wipe the sweat off forehead) Group member: Is this a green-skinned female protagonist? You wrote here that the female protagonist is looking for the mastermind behind the spread of the blood plague, but she found the wrong person, isn’t that a bad idea?

Me: It’s not a human, it’s a vampire, and it’s just pooped, what’s wrong with that?

(Scratching his head) Group member: But why did you describe the relationship between this pair of vampire maids before you told the story?

Me: This is exactly what I want to say. Your sorrows and joys have nothing to do with me. I’m just a demon hunter passing by.

(Can’t hold it anymore) Groupmate: You…

When I was drafting the outline, I discovered another problem: a protagonist who has a clear goal, a strong will, strong execution, is at the center of the stage, and is invincible.

It is completely destructive to the story’s narrative, because an invincible protagonist… means there is nothing that can threaten her, which means it is difficult to create a tense plot through crisis.

Having clear goals and strong execution means that unless you forcibly lower her IQ or combat power, the story will be difficult to proceed.

Just think about it… Deep Sea King in One Punch Man was killed instantly by Saitama as soon as he appeared on TV. Then there was no story about the subsequent A-class heroes and the unlicensed knight.

Moreover, being at the center of the stage means that everyone knows that she is very strong and powerful. Unless her intelligence is forcibly lowered and supporting characters or villains are allowed to cause trouble, there is no plot to write.

Anyway, for various reasons, I have put the story of “Devil Lady” on hold for now.

Back to this book, where did the inspiration for writing this book come from? There are many reasons…

However, my impression is that it should be during the plot of Collapse of Iron, when Jing Liu, who had fallen into the evil spirit, returned to the fairy boat, and Jing Yuan saw her, with heavy, melancholy and complicated emotions.

Ah! At that time, my mind could not help but start to flow with the lyrics of – I don’t know if you are my friend or foe, I can no longer see through it, I am pushed along by the flow of life, the one who is stranger next year is the closest person~

The master and disciple who once had deep friendship and loyalty have now become enemies. Things in this world are unpredictable.

I couldn’t help but imagine a scene in my mind: the master and the apprentice were respectful and friendly to each other, but as the apprentice grew up, they drifted apart due to differences in their ideas. When they met again many years later, all that was left was a melancholy scene.

I’ve got it! So let me write a story about a mentor and an apprentice! I want to write a story about a mentor and an apprentice who support each other and then fall in love and hate each other…

In my mind, when I think of the climax scenes of the confrontation between the two, I feel so excited.

Then I showed the outline to Lanlan.

Lanlan asked me after reading the outline.

What emotion do you want to convey with this story?

My brain is shutting down.

Seeing that I didn’t reply to him for a long time, Lanlan probably realized that his question had frustrated me, so he changed the way he asked the question.

What is the core selling point or the core plot of your story?

Me: It should be a rebellious disciple who rebels against his master. When I was young, I regarded my master as the beautiful moon in the sky, cold and elegant, but hard to be admired from afar and difficult to approach.

When he grows up, he wants to catch the moon in his hands.

Lan Lan said, so is it necessary to write about the climax, the love-hate relationship, etc. in the later part? Shouldn’t you consider…writing around the hero and heroine? Writing about the heroine’s fall from power, the hero’s filial piety changing, and wanting to attack his master, etc.

(covering face in shame) Me: I know…

It just so happened that Lanlan was also preparing a new book, Miss Red Dragon Participates in the Winter Expedition, and she encouraged me to join her, so this book came about.

Back to some of the plot of this book, a reader in the comment section asked, when will the apprentice grow up?

According to my outline, the disciple will not reach adulthood until he joins the heroine’s sect in the second volume.

When does filial piety turn sour?

In the second volume, filial piety began to deteriorate after he became an adult. According to Master Chong, it should not be officially unfolded until the third volume?

Regarding updates, under normal circumstances there will be one update a day, and occasionally there will be two updates a day.

I see other authors have set rules for themselves for posting new chapters, so should I set one too?

100 monthly tickets/plus one update and 20,000 fire scrolls/plus one update.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Yan Di from Aige Yutia for the reward. When I saw the reward, I went to check out the related comments.

Since the beginning of this article, I have put a lot of my own “literary expressions” in it. It is a very happy thing to see that my expressions are discussed or recognized by others.

Thank you very much, Lanlan. She has read the stories of everything from The Devil Lady to The Rebel Master in great detail, especially the opening chapter… She helped me revise it very carefully.

There are other book friends who have read this article. I have read your comments and suggestions. Thank you very much.
