A few minutes later, a hoarse and familiar voice came from the receiver: “I knew you would contact me, Newgate.”

“Long time no see, Cyborg,” Whitebeard responded calmly, “Or should I call you Marshal?”

Admiral Cyborg Sora’s voice came through the special device without any delay: “Titles are no longer important to people of our age. I guess you are here for the changes on the moon?”

“You have been watching,” Whitebeard said affirmatively.

“Never ceased,” answered Cyborg. “I have been watching for signs ever since we discovered the ancient ruins on that nameless island forty years ago and learned part of the truth.”

Whitebeard recalls the past – he and Sora were young, rising stars, and discovered the secret of the Ancient Kingdom together by chance. Then, they chose different paths: Sora joined the Navy and tried to change the World Government from within; while Newgate chose to become a pirate.

“The Five Elders have begun final preparations,” Kong’s voice became heavier, “They call it ‘Project Dragon’s Advent’. From what I understand, it involves some kind of technology that can stabilize the dimensional barrier, but at the cost of 90% of the world’s population.”

“They would rather sacrifice the whole world to save themselves,” Whitebeard clenched his fists, “Typical Celestial Dragon thinking.”

“I tried my best to stop them, but my influence on the Five Elders is limited,” Kong Ganggu sounded extremely tired, “They have begun to secretly mobilize the elite forces of the Navy and CP0 to prepare to control all key relics.”

Whitebeard pondered for a moment: “Time is running out. Roger once said that the moment the moon pattern is completed, the final selection will begin. I have sent people to find all the key holders, hoping to activate the ancient defense system before the ‘Dragon Descent Plan’ is launched.”

“I will do my best to slow their actions from within,” Cyborg promised, “but we all know that a war is inevitable.”

“War is never terrible,” Whitebeard responded, “what is terrible is that the truth behind the war is hidden forever.”

“This may be the last time we talk, old friend,” Cyborg Sora finally broke the silence.

After the communication ended, Whitebeard returned to the deck again. It was already evening, the afterglow of the setting sun dyed the sky red, the outline of the moon became clearer, and the pattern on the surface was almost completely formed, with only the last small part missing.

“Roger, do you see that?” Whitebeard looked up at the sky. “The moment you predicted is coming.”

The sea in the distance is as calm as a mirror, but it contains the raging waves that are about to erupt. Whitebeard knows that the next few days will determine the fate of the world, and he, Edward Newgate, will complete his ultimate mission as a giant of the times on this final stage.

The sails of the Moby Dick fluttered in the evening breeze, as if responding to the captain’s silent oath.

At the end of the passage, Lin Ye and Ramon came to an amazing circular platform. The entire platform was about fifty meters in diameter, and the surface was made of some kind of translucent blue-white material, which felt subtly elastic when stepped on. The edge of the platform was inlaid with evenly distributed crystal columns.

In the center of the platform stood a metal device, shaped like three concentric rings, capable of rotating on different axes. Lin Ye had never seen such a sophisticated machine before, and there were no visible screws or welding marks at the joints, as if the entire device was chiseled from a single piece of metal. The surface of the device was covered with complex runes, which were very similar to the patterns on the tuning fork and the Dawn Blade.

“The Moon Gate,” Ramon explained in a low voice, “One of the great creations of the ancient kingdom, capable of instantly crossing the distances between celestial bodies.”

Lin Ye walked towards the device and observed the runes carefully: “These are… some kind of coordinate system?”

Ramon nodded. “To be precise, it is a visual expression of the principle of space folding. The ancient kingdom discovered that space is not absolute, but can be folded like paper, so that two distant points coincide under certain conditions.”

There is a tuning fork-shaped groove at the bottom of the device, which matches the tuning fork in Lin Ye’s hand. Lin Ye looked at Ramon, and the old man nodded encouragingly: “Go ahead, start it.”

Lin Ye gently inserted the tuning fork into the groove. Instantly, the tuning fork made a crisp vibration sound, and the three metal rings began to rotate autonomously, faster and faster, until a blurry ball of light formed. The air around the device seemed to become distorted, and the light was bent in an unnatural way.

“Stand in the center!” Ramon said loudly, pulling Lin Ye back to the inner circle of the device. “Are you ready? The transmission process may be a little uncomfortable!”

Lin Ye clenched the Dawn Blade and nodded, “I’m ready.”

As soon as he finished speaking, a dazzling blue-white beam of light descended from the sky, covering the area where they were. Lin Ye felt dizzy, as if his body was broken down into countless particles and then reassembled. His senses experienced a brief blank, followed by a strange feeling of weightlessness.

In the blink of an eye, the dizziness disappeared. Lin Ye found himself standing in a completely different place – a huge metal hall with a ceiling dozens of meters high and an area comparable to a small town square. The hall was a perfect circle, and the walls were made of some kind of silver-white metal, with a faint blue light flashing on the surface. Dozens of control consoles and dormant mechanical devices were arranged around it.

“Are we… here?” Lin Ye looked around in disbelief.

Ramon took a deep breath and said solemnly, “Yes, this is the main control room of the Moon Base, one of the most important legacies of the ancient kingdom.”

Lin Ye walked to the nearest control console and gently touched the surface. The console immediately lit up dimly, but then dimmed again: “The system seems to be in some kind of dormant state.”

“After eight hundred years of slumber,” Ramon explained, “the base is in minimum power mode, maintaining only basic structural integrity. We need to wake it up.”

He guided Lin Ye to the main console in the center of the hall, which was a large semicircular device facing a huge curved screen wall. There were seven special grooves on the console, one of which matched the shape of a tuning fork.

“Insert the tuning fork into that groove,” Ramon instructed. “That should activate the basic system.”

Lin Ye carefully took out the tuning fork and inserted it into the designated position. The tuning fork immediately resonated with the control console, emitting a continuous humming sound. The entire base began to vibrate slightly.

The lighting system in the hall lit up one by one, the runes on the wall lit up blue, and the curved screen began to flicker, eventually showing a clear image – a complete map of the moon’s surface, with seven areas marked in different colors and a special sign in the center of each area.
