Connors rented three places in Gotham, and the one he and Harley Quinn were currently in was one of them.

Fearing that the bedding left by the landlord was too dirty, he bought all new ones, including the snow-white pillows on the bed.

Connors lit a post-coital cigarette and looked contentedly at Harley Quinn lying in his arms.

[Today’s Gossip: A Night with Harley Quinn]

[Submit?]

It was three in the morning, and the Gossip System had already started recording today’s big gossip.

Connors, holding the cigarette, pondered for a moment before clicking “No.”

No rush, the new day had only just begun three hours ago, there was plenty of time.

He got up and walked to the window, looking out at the night sky. Commissioner Gordon’s Bat-Signal was still imprinted on the dark clouds.

Since it was a rainy, dark night outside, Connors couldn’t see much scenery besides the Bat-Signal. Harley Quinn swayed her hips and walked up to him, curiously glancing out the window.

“Mysterious Mister, you said you’d take me to turn Gotham City upside down. You can’t do that without some skills, can you? Let me guess…”

Just then, Connors’ hair stood on end, as if a dangerous individual from the dark outside world had set their sights on him.

“Guess my ass.”

He roughly pulled Harley Quinn, pressing her down to kneel in front of him, then frowned tightly as he looked outside.

Although he couldn’t see with his naked eye, his Spider-Sense had been wildly warning him, indicating someone was outside.

His residence was on the nineteenth floor, with smooth glass walls, making it impossible for ordinary people to climb up. But there was one exception in Gotham City: Batman.

Fortunately, the bedroom window wasn’t a floor-to-ceiling one. Harley Quinn was held down by him and couldn’t get up, so from the outside, only Connors, bare-chested, could be seen.

“Oh, still busy?”

He seemed to mumble to himself. Although his vision couldn’t see outside, his Spider-Sense still allowed him to pinpoint Batman’s location, and he stared intently in that direction.

Batman’s naked eye couldn’t see Harley Quinn, and while infrared vision could penetrate walls, it wouldn’t show her appearance clearly.

According to the timeline, Harley Quinn’s public identity was still a hired consultant at Arkham Asylum, “Harleen Quinzel,” not yet the true Harley Quinn.

And with the money rewards given by the Gossip System, he had acquired a legal identity on the third day of his arrival.

From any angle, Batman at this time had no reason to arrest him and Harley Quinn.

Having figured this out, Connors’ mouth curved into a smile, and his gaze towards Batman outside became even more unrestrained.

“Alfred, help me look up this fellow named ‘Connors Patterson.’”

In the rain, Batman, Bruce Wayne, said in a low voice, his eyes fixed on the young man on the nineteenth floor opposite, who seemed to have noticed him.

“A new target? Let me see.”

Through the intercom built into the Bat-cowl, the butler Alfred said unhurriedly. Accompanied by the sound of keyboard clicks, the message quickly came:

“Connors Patterson, twenty-five years old, Oriental, unemployed. Recently frequently seen at the ‘Ghost Face Bar,’ no criminal record.”

“…However, this information is fabricated. The only true information is that he frequently goes to the bar. Master Wayne, have you found anything?”

“Not yet, but this guy seems to be able to see me,” Bruce Wayne said. “Add him to the observation list.”

“No problem. Shall we continue to find the Joker now?” the butler asked from the other end of the intercom.

“I’ll observe a little longer.”

“A reminder, the other party is completely naked now, Master Wayne, when did you develop such a hobby?”

“…”

Through his Spider-Sense, the Batman outside lingered, and Connors also did not return to bed, remaining by the window.

“He’s probably investigating my identity now. My public identity is fine, but with Wayne Enterprises’ methods, they should be able to find out it’s fabricated.”

“But even if they find out, they certainly know nothing about my true information. I don’t believe they can discover that I’m a transmigrator?”

While he was thinking, Harley Quinn finally couldn’t help but say:

“Hey, what exactly do you want to do? My knees are going to swell up!”

Harley Quinn still didn’t know his name and referred to him as “hey.”

Connors stroked Harley Quinn’s head, his eyes fixed on the window, and said softly:

“You used to be a consultant at Arkham Asylum, right?”

Harley Quinn nodded repeatedly like a chick pecking rice.

“The Joker’s enemy is Batman, you know that too, right?” Connors continued to ask.

Continued to nod.

“That guy is watching outside right now.”

After Connors finished speaking, Harley Quinn understood:

“You’re afraid of him? I’m not afraid.”

Connors chuckled. He was innocent right now, what was there to be afraid of?

Harley Quinn wasn’t afraid of Batman either, which was normal, as she had just transitioned from a psychologist to a crazy beauty and hadn’t officially fought Batman yet.

She had never experienced the setbacks the Joker had suffered at Batman’s hands.

Then Connors completely understood how “unafraid” Harley was. She actually started to play music for herself while Batman was outside.

“Hiss…”

Connors gasped, the presence of his Spider-Sense doubling the stimulation, almost making him shiver. But with Batman still outside, it didn’t matter what Harley did; he had to keep his nerves taut.

When he finally composed himself and looked out the window, Batman’s trace had completely disappeared from his Spider-Sense.

In the building Connors was in, on the twenty-third floor, Batman listened to Alfred’s teasing through the intercom, feeling a bit embarrassed for a moment.

He was Batman, not a peeping Tom. Tonight’s events were truly unexpected for him.

“Seeing how energetic the young man is, Master Wayne, you should also find a partner soon.”

Bruce Wayne silently turned off the intercom, leaped down from the tall building, his cape fluttering open, and glided towards the area illuminated by the Bat-Signal.

Today, a psychological consultant named Harleen Quinzel had released the Joker, who had been confined in Arkham Asylum, and with Poison Ivy’s help, all the inmates had collectively escaped.

Tonight was another sleepless night.
