“This… Is this the upper half of Bodhidharma’s remains?”

Zhang Dajing’s expression was greatly shocked, and he trembled as he opened the package with both hands, only to see that it was indeed the upper half of Bodhidharma’s remains inside.

In an instant, the shock in his heart soared to the extreme, and then he turned to Ye Qingfeng and asked, “Rumor has it that the upper half of Bodhidharma’s remains once fell into the hands of Zhang Haiduan, the chief assistant of the current dynasty, and was later seized by the Black Stone assassin Xiyu. Could it be…”

Ye Qingfeng didn’t say much, just nodded slightly.

Upon confirmation, Zhang Dajing immediately took a deep breath. Then, he placed the half-body remains in his hand together with the half-body remains on the table, and the upper and lower sections fit together seamlessly. With the complete Bodhidharma remains in front of him, Zhang Dajing calmed down. Having been in the business world for half his life, he naturally knew that there was no such thing as a free lunch in the world. Ye Qingfeng suddenly appeared in front of him and generously took out the other half of Bodhidharma’s remains, which would never be without reason; there must be some ulterior motive.

Thinking of this, he immediately asked, “What do you mean, Your Excellency?”

Ye Qingfeng said directly, “My meaning is very simple: to take the complete Bodhidharma remains. I already stated that at the beginning.” He paused slightly, then continued, “Actually, I don’t need to say so much nonsense to you, Master Zhang. With my martial arts, I can completely kill you and then take the Bodhidharma remains. The reason why I’m saying so much to you is, firstly, I don’t want to kill you, and secondly, I want to tell you that Bodhidharma’s remains do not have the effect of regenerating lost limbs. If you want to stand up by relying on him, I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed in the end.”

Zhang Dajing was unwilling to believe it and pressed, “Do these Bodhidharma remains really not have the effect of regenerating lost limbs?”

Ye Qingfeng said, “Rumor has it that as long as one deduces the secret of Bodhidharma’s remains and masters Bodhidharma’s inner cultivation, one can regenerate lost limbs. I can now deduce this inner cultivation technique. Why don’t you try it and see?”

With that, Ye Qingfeng walked to the table, raised his hand to cover Bodhidharma’s chest, and probed the mysteries of the lower part of the remains.

As his inner breath flowed, in less than the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, he had learned the complete circulation route of Bodhidharma’s inner cultivation.

Afterward, he asked Zhang Dajing for pen, ink, paper, and inkstone, and truthfully wrote down the inner cultivation circulation route.

Handing the inner cultivation technique to Zhang Dajing, Ye Qingfeng continued, “Master Zhang, this is the circulation route of Bodhidharma’s inner cultivation. I see that you also know some martial arts. Why don’t you try it and see if it can make your severed limbs regenerate and allow you to stand up again?”

Zhang Dajing took the cultivation method and browsed it carefully. The more he read, the more disheartened he became, the more discouraged he felt, and by the end, his face was ashen. He muttered to himself, “Fake, fake, everything is fake…”

As he spoke, his face turned pale, and his eyes were devoid of spirit, as if he had aged ten years in an instant.

This was understandable. His lifelong wish was to be able to stand up again and walk like a normal person. For this, he spared no expense, but in the end, he discovered it was all a dream. The blow this brought him was undeniably immense.

Ye Qingfeng said, “Master Zhang, I have told you the secret of the Bodhidharma remains. How about I exchange this for your half-body remains?”

Zhang Dajing said dejectedly, “Forget it, you can take the remains. As for this Bodhidharma inner cultivation, I don’t want it.”

As his words fell, he didn’t hesitate at all and burned the inner cultivation method to ashes.

Seeing this, Ye Qingfeng was first stunned, then said, “Master Zhang truly has great courage. Although this Bodhidharma inner cultivation cannot regenerate lost limbs, it is a rare and profound martial art. You actually burned it to ashes just like that.”

Zhang Dajing shook his head and said with a bitter smile, “This old man is already eighty, and half his body is already in the coffin. What good is any profound martial art if it can’t help this old man stand up?”

Ye Qingfeng said, “The Master is indeed open-minded. My goal has been achieved. I will take the remains and bid farewell.”

As his voice fell, he picked up the remains from the table and left.

After leaving Zhang’s residence, Ye Qingfeng did not return to his rented room but found an abandoned temple without people to settle down.

He casually swept out a clean spot, placed Bodhidharma’s remains aside, and began to study Bodhidharma’s inner cultivation.

This Bodhidharma inner cultivation, in addition to an external hidden meridian, also requires cultivating four other meridians: the Hand Taiyin Lung Meridian, Hand Jueyin Pericardium Meridian, Foot Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian, and Foot Taiyang Bladder Meridian. Ye Qingfeng possesses a congenital Dao body, with all his acupoints open and all his meridians clear, so the step of clearing meridians can naturally be skipped directly. Only the external hidden meridian needs special attention.

The so-called external hidden meridian emphasizes the word “hidden.” This meridian is not among the twelve regular meridians, nor is it within the eight extraordinary meridians. It is a hidden meridian, hence it is called the external hidden meridian.

As Ye Qingfeng’s mind gradually sank into his body, a vibrant inner breath arose from his dantian and quickly surged towards the “Huiyin acupoint.” This acupoint is both the meeting point of the Ren and Du meridians and the starting point of the external hidden meridian.

The entire external hidden meridian has a total of seven acupoints: “Huiyin acupoint,” “Zhongji acupoint,” “Qihai acupoint,” “Shanzhong acupoint,” “Tiantu acupoint,” “Shenting acupoint,” and “Baihui acupoint.” Some of these seven acupoints are on the Ren meridian, while others are on the Du meridian, and they are not interconnected. When these seven acupoints are connected, they form the external hidden meridian.

There is also a saying about the external hidden meridian: that it is the bridge connecting the physical body and the spirit.

Ancient Indian yogis were the first to discover the existence of the external hidden meridian and created a specialized cultivation system, which is the so-called “Ancient Indian Yoga” lineage. Therefore, monks from India are very good at using the power of the spirit. This Bodhidharma patriarch, whose remains are still intact after eight hundred years, was a master proficient in this art.

However, in the ancient Indian Yoga tradition, there is no mention of meridians or acupoints, only chakras. The “Huiyin acupoint” corresponds to the “Root Chakra,” the “Zhongji acupoint” corresponds to the “Sacral Chakra,” the “Qihai acupoint” corresponds to the “Navel Chakra,” the “Shanzhong acupoint” corresponds to the “Heart Chakra,” the “Tiantu acupoint” corresponds to the “Throat Chakra,” the “Shenting acupoint” corresponds to the “Third Eye Chakra,” and the “Baihui acupoint” corresponds to the “Crown Chakra.”

This system was also circulated in early Chinese Chan Buddhism. Later, as Buddhism declined, it gradually became lost, and even in India itself, not many people understood it. 597 Instead, the Tibetan Esoteric Buddhism tradition is relatively complete.

In fact, while the ancient Indian yoga secret arts are infinitely marvelous, China also has traditions no weaker than yoga secret arts.

Since ancient times, Chinese Taoism has had the sayings of “Three Flowers Gathering at the Crown” and “Five Qi Converging to the Origin.” These two realms concern the “Qihai acupoint,” “Shanzhong acupoint,” and “Niwan Palace” (Mud Pill Palace) three acupoints. The “Qihai acupoint” is called the lower Dantian, the “Shanzhong acupoint” is called the middle Dantian, and the “Niwan Palace” is called the upper Dantian. In order, they are also called the Upper Yuan Palace, Middle Yuan Palace, and Lower Yuan Palace.

These three palaces are the storage places for essence, qi, and spirit, corresponding to the three talents of heaven, earth, and man. Cultivating to the end means the unity of the three origins, which is also the legendary “Three Flowers Gathering at the Crown.” As for “Five Qi Converging to the Origin,” it is related to the five internal organs: heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys. The five organs correspond to the five elements of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. The qi of the five elements generates and overcomes each other, and cultivating to great perfection is “Five Qi Converging to the Origin.”

Originally, the Chinese secret spiritual arts tradition was also very prosperous, but during the late Qin and early Han dynasties, a burning of books and burying of scholars caused the various traditions to wither and scatter, which led to the gradual decline of Chinese martial arts.

Ye Qingfeng’s “Huiyin acupoint,” “Zhongji acupoint,” “Qihai acupoint,” “Shanzhong acupoint,” “Tiantu acupoint,” “Shenting acupoint,” and “Baihui acupoint” seven vital acupoints were already connected. He originally didn’t know how the external hidden meridian connected, so he never tried to break through. Now that he knew the exact connection route, under the premise that all his acupoints were clear, he naturally connected them in one go without any effort.
