In Marvel, people are slime Chapter 179

Yongdu suddenly burst into laughter, and his Ravagers followed suit.

When the ghost-like laughter gradually subsided, Yongdu suddenly stood up and excitedly slapped the table.

“Everyone!”

Everyone was looking at him.

“We’ve got a big job! Come on, pick up your gear, I’m taking you to get rich!”

“Target, Planet Ego!”

Hearing the first half of the sentence, these people were about to stand up and respond loudly, but when they heard the second half, they suddenly fell silent, looking at each other.

The atmosphere became a bit strange for a moment.

One person suddenly pushed through the crowd and stepped out, squeezing next to Yongdu. He was Yongdu’s first mate, Kraglin.

“Boss!”

His face was flushed, his eyes hazy with drink, and his expression was extremely excited.

“Boss! Are you going to save Quill! We all know that the children sent to Planet Ego back then all disappeared! Quill is the only one left! Are you going to help him again!”

Quill was Star-Lord.

Kraglin’s words were like a stone thrown into water, instantly stirring up a thousand waves, and the crowd was agitated.

“Exactly! He betrayed you like that! And you still want to save him?”

“Boss! You can’t do this! That’s too biased! I’m the first to disagree…”

“Enough!”

Yongdu’s face darkened, and he roared, overpowering everyone, “This job is a Kree bounty! They hate Quill for tipping off the Nova Empire! So we’re going to catch them now!”

“And he’s on Planet Ego right now!”

“Understand?!!”

/——————

Planet Ego was a very small planet.

It was about half to two-thirds the size of the Moon.

The planet’s surface was turbulent with red, black, blue, green, and various other colors of atmosphere, with wisps of aurora shimmering on it.

On naturally formed planets, the atmosphere was often relatively monotonous. Even if there were multiple different atmospheric gases, they would eventually mix together into the same color. For a planet like Ego to have such distinct colors, it was clearly artificially regulated.

To be honest, flying a spaceship to a planet like this required a bit of courage, because it really looked a bit out of place.

Two spaceships were parked in the outer space of Planet Ego.

The silver one went first, preparing to land.

“Hey! Hey! Wait a minute! That… Duke!”

In the 3D projection, Rocket Raccoon from the other spaceship waved his two short arms anxiously, baring his sharp fangs.

“Are we just landing like this? Don’t we need to contact them? This is dangerous! I don’t want to die here!”

When going to any planet connected to interstellar travel, spaceships must contact the local government or the navigation agency set up by the administrators before landing. Otherwise, not finding a landing site was a minor issue; the greatest possibility was being shot down directly by the local air defense forces.

This was not as simple as just finding a place to park; unidentified flying objects were a cause for vigilance for anyone.

Laimu smiled and looked at the planet outside the spaceship, which looked a bit like a colorful lollipop. He could already see some things inside.

“The host has already discovered us and has been waiting at the entrance for a long time. It would be impolite to make them wait any longer.”

“Alright, alright… Why didn’t I know?”

Rocket grumbled, piloting the spaceship behind. As for the original pilot, Star-Lord, he had already gone to sleep in the back seat, with a book covering his face, whether he was truly asleep or just pretending.

The spaceship parted the swirling atmosphere and entered the planet’s interior.

It was very bright here; the seemingly thick atmosphere didn’t block too much sunlight, nor did it dye the sunlight strange colors—from inside, the sky was light blue.

The ground was lush with trees, deliberately arranged into various shapes, with flowers of all colors hanging on them, like a child’s dream garden.

Many waterfalls flowed down from varying heights, falling into winding streams that flowed away, making crisp sounds.

Many colorful bubbles floated in the air. The spaceship’s flight disturbed the airflow, making them churn and break into smaller bubbles, turning into a dazzling, multicolored ocean.

As the spaceship moved forward, an alien-style palace appeared ahead.

This palace was nestled among the trees, its overall shape like a triangle placed on the ground, with complex and curved lines. Large, jewel-like windows were embedded in the center. It wasn’t grand, but it could be described as magnificent.

In the plaza in front of the palace, two people were eagerly awaiting the arrival of their esteemed guests.

Standing in front was an old man dressed in Earth Western-style clothes and trousers, wearing a long cape. He had a grizzled beard and neatly combed hair, looking vibrant and, from his appearance, a kind old man.

Behind him stood a woman with tentacles on her head. Her eyes were dark and much larger than normal, appearing to be some kind of intelligent insectoid creature, but the expression on her face was surprisingly shy.

The group disembarked from the spaceship, and the old man greeted them with a hearty laugh, warm and jovial, clearly delighted to have guests.

“Hahahaha!”

“It is an honor for you to come, Honorary Admiral of Nova, Duke of Asgard, Mr. Etcheverria, who has saved countless lives! Even in this most remote corner of the universe, I have heard of your great name!”

“Your presence makes my planet shine!”

This old man was Ego; he was this planet, and this planet was him.

Laimu nodded with a smile, very politely, “You are too kind, too kind.”

“I apologize for my abrupt visit, I hope I haven’t disturbed you. However, I believe you already know my purpose?”

“Oh! Of course!”

Ego seemed even more excited. His face was full of gratitude, with an added touch of melancholy. “I have already felt my bloodline; I have an unbreakable connection with him… Thank you for bringing him back to me.”

Ego’s gaze turned tenderly towards Star-Lord, who was following behind.

Star-Lord had been silent and uncommunicative since arriving on this planet, and now, looking at the old man in front of him, his expression was extremely complex.

Expectation, excitement, resentment, avoidance… all sorts of tangled emotions intertwined and tugged within his heart.

Finally, they coalesced into a hesitant question, “You are… my father?”

“Yes! My child! I am your father! Look at you, you’ve grown so big!”

The old man approached Star-Lord, his hands trembling as he tried to touch him, yet fearing that a gentle touch might make his long-lost son vanish like foam, he hesitated, stopping in mid-air.

Looking at his son, who was as tall as he was, warm tears unconsciously slid from the corners of his eyes.
