Lina Inverse, who was meditating with her eyes closed, seemed to have sensed the Weave through direct contact with Aoko.

However, Aoko was unsure whether Lina had sensed the Weave fragment within Aoko’s body, or if she had perceived the Weave’s main body in the World Sphere through the Weave fragment.

To clarify this, Aoko released Lina’s hand and continued to observe her condition.

Unlike what Aoko had anticipated, even after Aoko let go, Lina seemed to remain focused, journeying through the Weave. Aoko felt it was best not to disturb her at this moment.

About half an hour later, Lina opened her eyes, her face filled with shock, and looked at Aoko with an incredulous gaze. She had a thousand questions she wanted to ask but didn’t know where to begin.

“How was it?” Aoko asked with a smile. “Did you feel the Weave?”

“But why…” Lina nodded, then immediately asked her biggest question. “…why have I never before felt such a vast, obvious Weave, as if it’s right beside me, in everything…?”

This question was not easy to answer, Aoko thought. Could I say that it might have been “contagious” from me?

Logically, this planet should not be within the World Sphere’s crystal sphere. However, according to D&D settings, the Weave is likely present within countless crystal spheres across the multiverse, though the exact number of covered crystal spheres and the method of its spread are uncertain.

But since there was a Weave fragment within her, it was possible for the Weave to spread to this world through her. The reason why no other Weave spellcasters had been encountered on Type-Moon Earth before was likely due to Type-Moon Earth’s defense mechanisms and the Root.

These were all speculations. As for Lina’s question, Aoko decided to make up a reason to humor her for now.

“Sometimes, the things that are always around you are the hardest to discover,” Aoko replied in the tone of a life mentor. “Casting systems are diverse and strange. It’s not too outlandish that you discovered a new one today with my help.”

“That makes sense,” Lina said, pondering. “Maybe it’s like the difference in power sources between Elven magic and Black magic?”

The topic of why no one had discovered the Weave before ended there. Aoko took out her spellbook and began explaining several commonly used 0-level cantrips to Lina, including their spell models, casting motions, and incantation key points.

Lina listened very attentively, as if she had returned to her days of studying at the Sorcerer’s Academy in her hometown, fully concentrating on the teacher sharing the mysteries of magical knowledge.

Compared to the magic of this world, Weave arcane magic was more logical and operated more seamlessly. Although there were still many idealistic elements, these theories could achieve self-consistency on some level.

In contrast, the magical theories of Lina Inverse’s world often had an “stream-of-consciousness” quality, with a large subjective component in the incantations. These incantations were less like a “programming language” and more like a form of prayer.

For example, the prayer target for a fireball in Elven magic was the Fire Elemental, one of the four great elements. According to the information Lina revealed, the most powerful magic she could cast had an incantation that explicitly pointed to a powerful entity, and this entity had indeed been active in this world before.

This fact was too intriguing. Aoko felt that, aside from the magic that could be used with one’s own magical energy, the remaining magic in this world was probably more like divine spells bestowed by others.

However, the entities that bestowed divine spells in this world didn’t seem to care how many people borrowed their power. As long as one knew their names and deeds, and had enough ability to control these wild magical energies, they could unleash super magic far exceeding the power of ordinary magic.

After learning about this world’s casting system, Aoko had worried whether Lina Inverse possessed sufficient logical thinking ability to learn Weave arcane magic, but now it seemed her worries were completely unnecessary.

Aoko presented a total of five cantrip spell models: Ray of Frost, Disrupt Undead, Mage Hand, Prestidigitation, and Light.

Lina quickly learned these cantrips and successfully cast them, causing Aoko to re-evaluate the young girl’s talent level.

“When you were immersed in the Weave, did you get any information from it?” Aoko probed, wanting to confirm if retrieving spells from the Weave was something only she could do.

“?” Lina looked at Aoko in confusion and replied, “I could only feel the immense power of the Weave… When I used the magic you just taught me, I felt myself drawing upon a portion of that power.”

“Understood, don’t worry about it,” Aoko nodded, smiling. “This is my first time teaching someone magic, so please bear with me if I didn’t explain anything well.”

“Oh, no, no, Aoko, you explained it very clearly, in fact, it was even more understandable than what my previous magic teachers taught me!” Lina quickly said. This was actually the truth for her; her previous magic teachers didn’t explain things as systematically and thoroughly as Aoko did, but rather taught in a haphazard way, leaving most things to her personal understanding.

“In terms of Weave arcane magic, you’re currently just an apprentice,” Aoko said seriously, holding up a finger. “Before we formally begin learning 1st-level spells, we can go to the town’s shops to gather some materials. I’ll help you make a spellbook.”

In addition to spellbooks, many Weave arcane spells also had material components. Aoko herself carried many casting materials in her bag. She wondered if the native materials of this world could replace them; otherwise, her supply would dwindle.

In exchange, Lina Inverse also taught Aoko many of the spells she was proficient in, including the native “Light,” “Fire Arrow,” “Fireball,” “Heal,” and so on.

Lina was very serious when teaching Aoko, trying to explain the key points of these spells in concise and clear language, and also sharing her own learning experiences with Aoko.

Aoko, on the other hand, learned quickly. After a couple of attempts, she successfully cast these spells. However, what surprised her a bit was that when she used Elven magic like “Fireball” or “Fire Arrow,” she didn’t seem to borrow much power from the “Fire Elemental.” Instead, she mostly learned the spell form (model) from the Fire Elemental entity, and its core was the magical energy generated from Aoko’s own magic circuits (planetary rotation).

The fact that the magical energy from the Type-Moon world could be used in this world, and even had similar properties, forced Aoko to ponder deeply.
