“Is this what humans call a ‘luxury hotel’?” Arcueid said, strolling around the suite. “It’s really nice, looks very comfortable~”

With that, Arcueid chose what looked like the most comfortable sofa and sat down, stretching in a way that truly highlighted her beautiful figure.

“Princess of White, weren’t you living in a castle before?” Aoko asked curiously. “This is just an ordinary five-star hotel. The Millennium Castle must be much more luxurious than this, right?”

“You can just call me Arcueid,” the golden-haired woman said. “As a collaborator, I really want to get along well with mages.”

“How should I put it?” Arcueid leaned back on the sofa, curling her legs and hugging her knees as she continued, “I’m the only one in the Millennium Castle, it’s too cold.”

“And although that place is magnificent, it’s not suitable for living,” Arcueid seemed to be recalling something. “When I’m not hunting Roa, I’ll always be dormant there. Only when Roa reincarnates will I wake up to hunt him down.”

“Sounds pretty boring,” Aoko said, taking a bottle of wine from the liquor cabinet. “Can you tell me in detail why you’ve been chasing this guy all this time?”

“Hmm…”

Arcueid seemed troubled, pondering whether to reveal everything. Touko, with great understanding, helped Aoko get wine glasses and ice. However, her eagerness was also because Touko herself really wanted a drink.

“Alright… there’s nothing I can’t say, so I’ll tell you!” Arcueid sighed. “I just feel like everything I say is my own dark history…”

Aoko had an “Awaiting your performance” look, pouring a glass of wine with ice for everyone present.

The two sisters drank their wine, staring intently at Arcueid, sitting on the sofa opposite her, eagerly anticipating. This made Arcueid suddenly feel as if she had walked into a den of thieves…

“In short… it’s a story of an immature child being deceived.”

After taking a sip of wine, Arcueid said softly, beginning to recount how she was deceived by that snake (Roa) back then, losing a part of her power after being bitten.

Over thousands of years, the Serpent of Akasha had reincarnated seventeen times (counting this one), but each time it couldn’t remain active for too long before being killed by the arriving Arcueid.

Back then, Arcueid lost control after her first bloodsucking, killing all the True Ancestors in the Millennium Castle except herself. After regaining her sanity, she resolved to thoroughly kill Roa.

Arcueid herself couldn’t explain whether her persistence was due to hatred or some other reason, or perhaps it was just the only way for her, as the True Ancestor’s executioner, to live.

“So, Roa’s reincarnation spell is essentially achieved by using Arcueid’s power?” Touko said, resting her chin. “I originally thought this guy might involve my domain, but now it seems I overestimated him.”

“What do you mean?” Arcueid asked, puzzled.

“As the Third Magician, Touko can achieve flawless replication and transfer of souls,” Aoko said after taking a sip of wine. “From your description, Roa has worn down his soul significantly during multiple transfers. The current Roa is probably no longer the same as the original magus.”

“You mean…” Arcueid said thoughtfully.

“Exactly,” Aoko nodded. “Your pursuit all these years hasn’t been without effect. Passed down to now, Roa’s soul information and personality have been greatly lost. What remains is probably just the obsession with eternal life.”

“…Why are you so sure?” Arcueid was silent for a moment, then asked Aoko.

“Because I met the previous incarnation of Roa before,” Aoko said meaningfully. “She is still alive and harbors immense hatred for Roa, just like you, she is hunting the Serpent of Akasha.”

“The previous Roa?” Arcueid exclaimed in surprise. “The previous one… was that French woman, the one with the naked cloak? She’s still alive?”

“That’s her,” Aoko nodded. “She provided me with a lot of valuable information, which ultimately allowed me to confirm Roa’s state and the general principle of how he could reincarnate.”

“So, even if you leave him alone, this guy will eventually turn to dust,” Aoko said. “The woman chasing Roa is immortal. As long as the snake exists, she will continue to exist and turn her hatred into her own strength.”

“So that’s how it is…” Arcueid murmured. “Compared to her, I feel a bit like a dilettante…”

“Perhaps it’s a difference in perspective?” Touko said meaningfully. “Although Ciel and you both lost people close to you because of Roa, the significance of other True Ancestors to you is probably different from the significance of Ciel’s family to her.”

Touko’s words were very blunt. If it were an ordinary person or Ciel, they might get angry due to Touko’s way of speaking, but Arcueid was clearly not such a person.

She was just seriously contemplating the meaning of Touko’s words, wondering if she was really, as Touko said, just treating the pursuit of Roa as her life’s goal.

“If you can’t figure it out, don’t think about it for now; just let nature take its course,” Aoko said, crossing her legs. “That Roa guy is just an annoying pest; how can he be compared to a princess of the True Ancestors?”

“After the current matters are resolved, you can come and stay in Misaki for a while,” Touko invited. “Anyway, no one can force you to return to the Millennium Castle to sleep. The urge to suck blood isn’t a difficult problem for me to solve.”

Aoko glanced at Touko. This girl had been planning this for a long time, hadn’t she? Why was she always so interested in these rare and exotic creatures from the Inner Sea of the Stars?

First, there was the golden wolf Lugh Beowulf, and now it’s the golden-haired Arcueid’s turn. Touko, you’re so obsessed with gold, be careful you don’t end up sitting on a golden toilet someday!

“That sounds like fun!” Arcueid replied cheerfully. “Then it’s settled. After I kill this incarnation of Roa, I’ll come to that place called Misaki to play with you~”

The three staying in the luxurious hotel casually decided the fate of the snake, completely forgetting about the potential attacks from the ‘Ancestors’ that might come.
