Loki gently placed his daughter on the bed. Thoughtfully, he pulled the curtains, blocking the overly dazzling sunlight, took off Hela’s shoes, and then gently covered her with a blanket.

He did these things as silently as possible, and even when he left the room, he considerately cast a one-way soundproofing spell so that the noise from outside would not enter the bedroom.

As Loki came downstairs, Thor quietly asked, “Is she asleep?”

“Phew~ That’s good!” Seeing Loki nod, Thor softly exhaled, as if not wanting to disturb Hela upstairs.

“You can speak in a normal voice. I cast a small spell; our voices won’t carry in,” Loki explained slightly.

“Oh, that’s great. I don’t like lowering my voice either.” Thor scratched his hair and raised his voice a little, but compared to his usual speaking volume, his voice was still very soft.

“I don’t quite understand. What’s wrong with her?” Thor frowned, bent down to pick up the hammer from the ground, then twirled it twice in his hand, still unable to discern anything. He then handed it to Jane Foster, who scanned it with her electronic eye but found nothing.

“Can I see it?” Loki suddenly said. “I’ve learned a lot of new magic on Earth; maybe I can figure something out.”

“Oh~ sure!” Thor said, placing the hammer on the table in front of him, allowing Loki to examine it.

Loki frowned, casting several small spells with his hand. As time went on, Loki’s deciphering of other types of magic became faster and faster. Although his Frost Giant bloodline still severely affected his magical cultivation, it didn’t prevent him from using other magic. It just required him to perform a “format conversion” based on his bloodline when using most spells to use them freely.

Fortunately, Loki’s brain was powerful enough, and his magical sensitivity was high enough, so after the threat of war subsided, his magical cultivation progressed by leaps and bounds.

Though he still couldn’t cast fireballs…

In Loki’s magical detection, he finally detected another power on the hammer besides the power of thunder.

A power Loki was very familiar with, the power Loki felt when Hela discovered and used her abilities long ago.

Most importantly, as the current King of Asgard, recognized by the Rainbow Bridge guardian, Loki could, to a certain extent, borrow the power of Asgard, which was a symbol of kingship.

But Loki clearly felt that Hela’s divine power, lingering on the hammer, was also connected to Asgard, even more closely and powerfully.

Loki frowned. He gripped the hammer’s handle, yanked it, pulled the hammer up, and flipped it over, examining the magical inscription underneath.

Thor, standing nearby, jumped up again.

“How did you do that?” Thor was truly stunned this time! Hela, that child, could be described as innocent and kind, with certain aspects of her heart meeting the hammer’s requirements. But Thor was very familiar with Loki’s character. Although Loki had changed a lot in the past two years, his cruelty towards enemies and disregard for certain mortal lives were still clearly visible.

Thor didn’t believe that Mjolnir would choose him, or he would truly doubt Mjolnir’s criteria for choosing a master.

“Are you sure Mjolnir is as picky as you say?” Jane Foster quietly poked Thor’s thick arm and whispered.

Loki frowned, sensing this power. Only then could he be completely sure that Hela’s identity was not simple; she might even be a royal family member or something?

“Loki, how did you do that…” Thor’s exclamation brought Loki’s thoughts back. He looked at the bewildered Thor and then realized he was holding Mjolnir in his hand.

“Oh, you mean why I can pick up the hammer?” Loki shrugged, explaining to Thor. “Well, this is a bit complicated, but it’s definitely not because I meet its requirements. It’s because I am currently the legitimate King of Asgard. I can use my authority to mobilize Asgard’s power and, to a certain extent, command Mjolnir…”

“But I only picked it up; I can’t use its power,” Loki explained to Thor, then put down the hammer, propped his hands on the table, and thought seriously for a moment.

Then, as if finally mustering his courage, he picked up the red wine glass on the table, slowly poured himself a large glass of red wine, and then drank it all in one gulp.

“Phew~ Speaking of which, I have something I want to talk to you about!” Loki turned his head, looking at Thor seriously.

“Uh, okay!” Thor said nervously. He had never seen Loki so serious.

“Do you remember what I told you a few years ago when I got you out of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s custody?” Loki looked at Thor seriously. As a Frost Giant, his powerful physique made it impossible for him to get drunk from just one glass of red wine, but at this moment, he indeed wished for a drink to bolster his courage. [See Chapter 8]

“Uh, I remember most of it…” Thor scratched his head and said. Jane Foster, nearby, felt a bit restless, thinking she shouldn’t be there.

“I said I would wait for you to regain your power, and you would ascend to the throne of Asgard!” Loki poured himself another glass of red wine, then drank it all.

“Uh, Loki, I think you should drink less!” Thor looked at Loki uneasily. The alcohol had more or less had some effect on Loki; his mind and thoughts were beginning to blur slightly.

“No, it’s time to fulfill my promise, Thor!” Loki poured out the last drop of wine from the red wine bottle, then drank it all in one gulp.

Then Loki extended a hand, giving a slight shake. Light and shadow flashed in his hand, and a golden scepter appeared.

The Gungnir, the Spear of the Meteor.

“Father’s scepter?” Thor stared blankly at the golden spear in Loki’s hand, then looked at Loki with a bewildered expression.

“This is the symbol of Asgardian kingship, and I am just a Frost Giant. I am not their biological son, and I am not suited for that throne…” Loki said solemnly, handing the scepter to Thor.

“But you are. You are the warrior Father was always proud of, and you have regained your power. I should also keep my promise!” Loki looked at his brother solemnly.

“Take up the Gungnir, and you shall be King of Asgard!”

“And I will also keep my childhood promise. After you are crowned king, I will do everything in my power to help you, to help my brother!” [See Chapter 103]

“This is my promise…”
