One day ago, New York City, which was gradually restoring order, saw its citizens return to their busy work. The alien invasion hadn’t caused a particularly significant impact on the civilians; factories were open, and schools had resumed.

Soon after Loki brought Hela home, he called his brother Thor, inviting him over for a meal.

“No problem, Loki! I’ll definitely be there. I’ve been wanting to meet your daughter for ages!” Thor’s boisterous voice came from the other end of the line. In his hand, he held a green glowing phone, materialized by his Green Lantern ring. His actual phone had been accidentally crushed the first time he pulled it out after regaining his divine power.

“Good, good, um… actually, I wanted to talk to you about something.” Loki clutched his phone, looking somewhat nervously out the window. Hela had gone to school half an hour ago, grumbling the whole way about why the aliens hadn’t blown up the school buildings too, so she could have rested longer.

“Um, well, I don’t know how to say this… Actually, Hela isn’t my biological daughter…” Loki weighed his words, speaking tentatively.

“What?” Thor exclaimed in surprise.

“What?” Sif also exclaimed in surprise. She immediately stopped repairing the Bifrost’s teleportation function and began listening intently to Loki’s words.

“Alright, here’s how it is. Two years ago, Father threw me out of Asgard to save me. Not long after that, I sensed the Bifrost’s energy fluctuations again. This time, the Bifrost sent a girl. She had lost all her previous memories, even her name was completely forgotten.” Loki sighed, explaining Hela’s background.

“I didn’t know who she was, whose child she was, but she was an Asgardian. I couldn’t just leave her.” Loki sat on the soft sofa, looking at the distant sky.

“So I adopted her, named her Hela. I thought I’d never return to Asgard, but at least I could watch that child grow up.” There was something in Loki’s tone that Thor had never seen before: a sense of responsibility, a protective instinct for someone he cared about.

“She never asked where her mother was, nor why she had no memories of her infancy. I guess she might have already figured out that she wasn’t my biological daughter. But she never brought it up, and I hope you won’t either.” Loki sighed, speaking solemnly.

“I won’t, I promise you,” Thor assured Loki very seriously.

As Hela opened the door, Thor and Jane Foster walked into Loki’s home together.

Jane Foster took off her stylish, simple jacket, her golden hair falling loosely, making her look exceptionally beautiful. Her skin appeared no different from an ordinary person’s, and her hair shimmered beautifully in the sunlight.

“Hi, Loki!” Jane Foster extended her fair right hand to Loki, wanting to shake hands. Loki, his hands a bit greasy from handling ingredients, shrugged.

“Hello, Miss Foster, long time no see,” Loki replied, then looked at Jane Foster with some curiosity.

Jane Foster noticed Loki’s curiosity and explained, “Nanotechnology. I mimicked my skin to look like my old self.”

As she spoke, she changed her hair to silvery-white strands, giving it a very metallic texture. Hela, seeing this, shouted “Cool!”

“Hey, Uncle, did you bring me a gift again?” Hela asked excitedly, shaking Thor’s arm.

“Oh~ a gift… um…” Thor froze, then pinched his chin in thought.

“Hey! You forgot, didn’t you? This is our first meeting, how could you not bring your niece a gift?” Hela’s tone was somewhat displeased. She let go of Thor’s arm and left, a little huffy.

Thor scratched his head, thinking about how to smooth things over. Although he had lived on Earth for several years, his boisterous personality meant he wasn’t adept at human social interaction.

Thor frowned in thought, then extended his right hand. Green light surged from his ring, coalescing into a beautiful flower.

“Hey, Hela, how about this? Do you like it?” Thor shamelessly materialized a flower with his Green Lantern ring to give to his niece.

Hela looked at the green flower in her hand, speechless. Thor wasn’t very good at materializing things; this flower looked very fake, and being entirely green and emitting a greasy green glow, it looked like some kind of heavily radioactive pollutant.

“Oh… a green flower, what a surprising gift!” Hela held the flower, speaking to Thor expressionlessly. Her words of praise sounded very perfunctory.

“Thank you, I’ll definitely put it in a water bottle by my bed and see if it mutates into a giant man-eating tree one day,” Hela said, exasperated.

But Thor’s expression grew even more awkward. He gave a helpless smile and began to explain the limitations of Green Lantern constructs to Hela.

“Actually, this flower is made of my willpower. Once I go too far from here, it will disappear…”

Hela’s gaze at the flower grew even more disdainful, and her eyes towards Thor also carried a hint of disdain. “Great, you gave me a greasy green flower, and it’s a temporary one too. What a wonderful gift, Uncle!”

“Alright, Hela, come and eat nicely!” Loki gently stroked Hela’s head. Her soft hair carried a faint scent of shampoo. Hela pouted and casually tossed the flower onto a nearby cabinet.

Finally, Loki finished preparing the last of the food. He brought out several glasses of freshly squeezed juice for the two ladies, officially beginning the banquet.

Thor’s eating habits were as “unrestrained” as ever. Although his years on Earth had taught him some manners, his eating was still very fast and rough. And now that his divine power had returned, his appetite was even more exaggerated than before.

In fact, most of the food here was prepared for Thor. Loki and Hela didn’t eat much, and Jane Foster only tasted things. She had no stomach organs; the necessary energy for her body was primarily provided by the Space Stone, with only some special energy converters responsible for breaking down consumed food.

Soon after, everyone was full. Thor and Loki talked a lot, reminiscing about good memories from the past. They lay back in their chairs, lazily chatting with each other.

“So… you’re the God of Thunder?” Hela sat beside her father, looking at Thor and asking curiously.

“That’s right!” Thor patted his chest, then extended a hand, and crackling electricity danced on his fingers.

“Hmm, you can make electric sparks, that’s impressive!” Hela nodded, but her tone showed no surprise, and her compliments were very perfunctory.

“If I remember correctly, didn’t legends say you had a hammer or something? Why aren’t you holding it?” Hela mimed the shape of a hammer with her hand, asking Thor.

“Hmm, I used to have a hammer…” As Thor said this, he shifted his gaze to Jane Foster beside him. Their relationship had been steadily warming up during this time, and Jane Foster immediately understood Thor’s intention, shaking her head slightly.

Thor, however, gave her a pleading look. Jane Foster and Thor had a micro-expression conversation. A moment later, Jane Foster gave in.

“I used to have a hammer, but it’s not in my hand now,” Thor turned his head triumphantly to Hela.

Jane Foster extended her right hand. Her fair skin instantly faded to silvery metal, and a cavity opened in her arm. A special sub-space, created using spatial manipulation, was located within. Jane Foster reached her left hand inside. A faint flash of electricity occurred but was suppressed by Jane Foster.

A hammer appeared in her hand.

“Look! Mjolnir, do you like it?” Thor took Mjolnir. The hammer passed between their hands without any sense of hesitation.

Thor placed the hammer on the ground and pointed to it for Hela.

“If you like, you can pick it up and play with it, but be careful, only those who are worthy can lift it,” Thor said to Hela with a triumphant smile.
