In the spacious control hall, dozens of Chitauri, armed with firearms, appeared from all directions, surrounding their enemies.

Standing in the center were Loki, wielding an ice axe, and Dr. Banner, clad in green luminous armor.

Loki twirled the handle of his ice axe, just as his brother often did. Beside him, Dr. Banner gripped his glowing green greatsword, pointing it at the enemies. Behind him, a tall, crimson figure emerged, roaring.

The three figures formed a simple formation, ready to fight the enemy.

“Half for each of us?” Loki eyed them warily, whispering to Dr. Banner.

“Alright!” Dr. Banner nodded almost imperceptibly, replying.

The next moment, the battle began.

The numerous Chitauri let out an unpleasant shriek, then raised their firearms and pulled the triggers, firing at the trio.

Loki charged forward instead of retreating, his ice axe transforming into a shield. He weathered the Chitauri’s barrage, charging forward. The energy blasts struck the shield with a clanging sound, many of them bouncing back to hit their own comrades, taking out a few unlucky Chitauri.

Loki waited until their weapons entered a brief cooldown period, then forcefully hurled his shield. In mid-air, the shield transformed into a chilling axe, embedding itself deeply into the chest of a Chitauri in the center.

Suddenly, the ice axe hissed, and bursts of extremely cold air erupted from it, instantly freezing several Chitauri soldiers nearby.

Loki then rolled to the ground, dodging the shots from the few lucky Chitauri on the fringes who hadn’t been frozen. The energy beams struck the ground with a thud.

Loki beckoned, and the ice axe embedded in the Chitauri’s chest trembled slightly, then shot back towards Loki. Once the axe detached, the frozen Chitauri shattered into icy fragments, scattering across the floor.

After a brief flight, the axe was firmly grasped by Loki, then rapidly transformed again, becoming a peculiar chain blade wrapped around his right arm. The chain blade resembled a strange short knife with several vicious, protruding teeth, exuding an aura of deadly intent.

Loki tightened his grip on the chain blade’s handle and gave a slight shake. Pale blue freezing flames immediately ignited along the blade, making the brutal chain blade appear even more mystical.

Then Loki raised his right arm and swung the chain blade fiercely. The metal links clanged together, and the blade, like a winter’s breath, swiftly cut through the air, piercing a Chitauri in the center.

The pale blue flames on the blade instantly enveloped the enemy, freezing it into a massive block of ice. Loki stomped his feet firmly on the ground, stabilizing his body. Then, gripping the chain with both hands, he pulled forcefully, lifting the huge ice block off the ground and smashing it violently into several nearby Chitauri, embedding them into the wall, creating a massive dent.

The surrounding Chitauri stared blankly at Loki, then nervously roared, frantically firing their weapons at Loki. But Loki merely rolled to the ground, effortlessly dodging a dense wave of energy beams. Then, with a flick of his right hand, the chain blade retracted, and the ice-blue flaming chain blade was tightly clasped in his right hand.

A thrilled smile spread across Loki’s face. He fiercely flung the chain blade again, and the freezing-flame-burning blade drew a pale blue arc in the air, effortlessly slicing off the firearms from the hands of several Chitauri shooting at him from a distance.

Loki then lunged forward. The Chitauri, finding themselves disarmed, let out a shriek. They pulled out a short staff from behind their backs, gripped it tightly, and swung it. A blade extended from one end of the staff, transforming it into a long sword.

One Chitauri charged first, brandishing his long sword with a fearless abandon that deeply moved Loki. So Loki unhesitatingly threw the chain blade, plunging it into his chest, then yanked forcefully.

The Chitauri’s body was impaled by the chain blade, letting out a miserable shriek. Loki pulled him high into the air, then swung him violently, slamming him onto the ground. The intense icy impact knocked down the remaining few Chitauri. Loki leaped high, gripping the chain blade’s handle tightly with both hands, then descended from the sky, the blade embedding itself deeply into the metal floor.

“Boom—” A powerful blast of freezing energy radiated from the blade where it struck the ground, rapidly freezing the last few surrounding Chitauri into blocks of ice.

Loki then violently threw the chain blade, sweeping it around to draw a perfect pale blue arc. The frozen Chitauri were effortlessly shattered into fragments by him, tumbling to the ground.

The chain blade arced through the air, then swiftly retracted with a clanging sound. The long chain wrapped around Loki’s right arm, then slowly transformed into an icy white bracer.

“Wow!” Loki exhaled a long breath. He had never felt battle to be so exhilarating. He had always disliked fighting, unlike his adoptive father, who was a skilled Asgardian warrior. Nor was he like his birth father, a brutal and bloodthirsty Frost Giant.

He had always presented himself as a sorcerer. As the most unwelcome member of Thor’s adventuring party, he had always avoided combat.

But the extensive fighting today had truly made his blood boil.

“Banner! I’m done, how about you?” Loki watched Dr. Banner fighting with amusement, casually taunting him.

“I’m… still a bit busy!” Dr. Banner shouted back. He frantically rolled on the ground, yet failed to dodge a single gun. Dozens of energy beams struck him without fail, but they were all easily blocked by his green luminous armor.

Dr. Banner had never been good at fighting, nor did he like it. He was a physicist who enjoyed research and learning, not a warrior. While Loki was similar to Banner in some ways, also disliking combat, as an Asgardian, fighting was a compulsory skill for him. Despite Loki’s dislike, he wielded it with great proficiency.

“Roar—” The crimson Hulk roared, his massive red fists continuously swinging. As a manifestation of red energy, the Hulk was not afraid of the energy gun attacks.

Hulk’s fists became blurs in the air. A series of punches hammered into the dozen or so Chitauri in front of him, pinning them firmly against the wall.
