“He has a towering physique, skin as gray as rock, and his eyes can shoot out Omega beams that automatically track and destroy any life form.”

“His name is Darkseid…” Jane Foster said in a low voice.

“Wait a minute? What did you say?” Lin Dong said, utterly bewildered.

“Tell me his name again!”

“Darkseid,” Jane Foster repeated.

“No, no, no, I think you must be mistaken. His name can’t be Darkseid. He should be Thanos!” Lin Dong immediately said.

“No, I’m sure his name is Darkseid. I’ve dreamt of that name and his image more than once. Then, a while ago, I saw him with my own eyes. I teleported to his lair, Apokolips, and he stripped me of the Mother Box.” Jane Foster stared at Lin Dong, her eyes wide.

“…” Lin Dong sighed. His worst fear had finally come true.

In the DC world, two versions of Darkseid died in the same universe. The two Omega Effects merged, unleashing an unprecedentedly powerful force.

This fusion was a miraculous one, as it was a reassembly of Darkseid’s avatars. As long as Darkseid still existed in this universe, the fusion would not stop.

The Omega Effect began to expand rapidly, destroying all matter in its path. If not dealt with in time, the Omega Effect would spread to the point of destroying the entire universe.

So Lin Dong thought of another universe.

The Marvel Universe.

There was no Darkseid in this universe, and compared to the other universes Lin Dong knew, this one was relatively close to the DC universe.

According to Lin Dong’s speculation, after the Omega Effect entered the Marvel Universe, there was a fifty percent chance it would directly dissipate due to conflicting settings, or it might fall into permanent stagnation due to the loss of Darkseid’s power support.

However, when Lin Dong returned to this world and used his prophetic magic, he saw many things.

For example, Jane Foster’s body being repaired by the Mother Box, transforming her into a female Cyborg.

For example, Ragnarok happening ahead of schedule, Asgard being invaded by Dark Elves, Odin dying, and Loki escaping to Earth.

But what surprised him the most was a sight he suspected he had misread.

A terrifying sight.

A tall gray giant, with red light glowing in his eyes.

He had been prepared then, but hearing the news directly from Jane Foster still made it difficult for him to accept.

Thanos had obtained the Omega Effect, and was even likely infected by it, artificially creating an Apokolips.

Thanos’s power would experience an unprecedented surge compared to the original timeline.

“Is this the so-called cosmic balance? When the power of order grows strong, the power of chaos will also be elevated.” Lin Dong sighed, feeling a bit guilty.

He had come to the movie universe and greatly enhanced the forces of justice within it. Tony Stark became an Archmage proficient in both magic and technology. Loki didn’t turn dark; instead, he stayed honestly in Asgard, sitting on the throne, causing no trouble. Captain America became a Lantern, even strong enough to wear four Lantern Rings.

This caused the balance of power in this universe to be lost. The forces of justice had surpassed the norm by far too much. If it were just the Thanos from the movies, he suspected that with Tony’s current strength, he could solo him.

This was indeed his responsibility. In a way, it was no different from the trolley problem.

That parallel universe in DC was about to plunge into darkness, and countless lives would die, so Lin Dong decided to save that world.

But at the same time, he also brought a stronger dark force to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The dark forces in this world had been greatly reduced, so the world’s consciousness indiscriminately absorbed power from other universes to maintain balance.

This was Lin Dong’s responsibility. Lin Dong did not regret doing so, but he also had to bear this responsibility.

He had to help this world.

Lin Dong rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.

Tony Stark, seeing everyone fall silent, felt a bit bored and tried to find another topic.

“Hey, everyone! Our alliance doesn’t have a name yet! We need to come up with a name, a codename or something!” Tony sat up, crossing his legs as he looked at everyone.

“Do you have any good ideas? Speak them out; we can vote on it!”

Everyone fell silent for a moment, then Jane Foster spoke, “I have an idea. We could call ourselves the Justice League!”

“No!” Lin Dong immediately said.

“Why, Lin? I quite like that name!” Captain America, Steve, said with some dissatisfaction.

“I don’t like that name. It sounds too old-fashioned!” Tony shrugged.

“How about Squadron Supreme? It’s a name I thought of a long time ago,” Steve said again.

During World War II, in his spare time between performances, Steve had created a series of short comics. A very important one was the heroic story of Hyperion, a super-strong superhero.

In his conception, Hyperion would eventually meet more superheroes, and they would form an alliance called the Squadron Supreme.

His manuscripts, notes, and some original comic art were later compiled by the military, and some copies were placed in museums for public exhibition.

“That name sounds too ancient, like an old relic from seventy years ago! Oh, right, you are an old relic from seventy years ago!” Tony habitually mocked him again, making even the usually composed Steve a bit angry.

“Enough, Tony Stark!” Steve said sternly. “You’re far worse than your father; he wouldn’t make jokes so inappropriately!”

“Don’t you dare mention my father!” Tony slammed the table with a “bang—” and shouted furiously.

“Stop arguing! Stop arguing!!!” Hela suddenly yelled loudly. “I have a good name!”

“Oh? What name?” Tony glanced at Steve, pouted, and asked with feigned curiosity.

“We can call ourselves: Super Seven!” Hela stretched out her hand and shouted happily.

“Uh…” Steve seemed to be trying to find a non-offensive way to reject the suggestion.

“I don’t think it’s very suitable…” Dr. Banner said tactfully.

“That name is too stupid!” Tony Stark said bluntly without hesitation.

“Why? I quite like that name!” Hela shouted defiantly. “There are seven of us, and we all have special abilities. This name is very fitting!”

Hela began counting the members: Tony, Jane Foster, Dr. Banner, Steve, Loki, Lin Dong, and Hela herself.

“This name is pretty good!” Hela mumbled. Loki, who had been mostly silent, squatted down and looked at Hela at eye level.

“Hela, listen, this team, this alliance, doesn’t include you. You’re still a child; fighting should be left to adults!” Loki said in the gentlest possible tone.

“But I came too! I’m also a member of this team, and I can fight!” Hela continued to argue.

“But you’re still a child. I brought you because I was worried about your safety, but I can’t let you risk your life to fight, understand?” Loki stared into Hela’s eyes, patiently persuading her.

“But…” Hela was still a bit defiant, but seeing her father’s eyes, she reluctantly nodded.

“Go rest in the next room, Hela!” Loki stroked Hela’s hair and told her.

Hela pouted and stomped towards the adjacent recreation room, which had several TVs and game consoles.

“You’re no different from a bunch of children!” Loki said in a low voice.

“What?” Tony said, feeling a bit indignant. He was over forty years old, and this guy was calling him a child?

“Look at what you’re doing? This is a major battle, an invasion; people will die!” Loki slammed the table and shouted loudly.

“And you’re still joking around, still racking your brains trying to come up with a name?”

“I think you’ve probably misunderstood something, because I don’t give a damn about justice or evil, and I don’t care how many people die on this Earth! If it weren’t for the people of Asgard, I wouldn’t be here talking to you!” Loki roared furiously, his eyes filled with immense hatred, as if it would erupt into flames.

“I don’t care about Earth, and I don’t care about you mortals! I am a god, I am the King of Asgard, and I only care about Asgard!”

“That madman wants to use the Infinity Stones to erase half the universe, which naturally includes the Asgardians, that’s why I joined you, that’s why I’m preparing to fight!”

“But I’m not fighting for justice, not for you mortals!” Loki pointed at them, his eyes clearly showing hatred, but at the same time, there was also sadness and pain.

“Those Dark Elves, and their boss behind them, they killed my father, killed my mother, and killed countless soldiers and civilians of Asgard.”

“I’m not here to enact justice; I’m just here for revenge!”

“I’m gonna find…”

“and I’m gonna kill…”

“every last one of them!”
