Malekith knelt on the ground, his head bowed, large beads of sweat rolling down his forehead.

Before him was a golden chair floating in mid-air, on which sat a grey humanoid creature clad in armor. His body was as hard as rock and incredibly tall. He was facing away from Malekith, seemingly lost in thought.

“So, you let all three Asgardian princes escape?” A deep voice rumbled. Although he hadn’t turned around, Malekith felt an overwhelming sense of dread, a fear stemming from the very depths of his being.

“I… I’m very sorry. The scepter inexplicably failed. Odin released his sons and then killed himself. His daughter, Hela, resisted the scepter and opened the Bifrost…” Malekith tried his best to explain, but sweat continued to pour down uncontrollably.

“Meaning, not only did you fail to eliminate the Asgardian royal family, but you also lost the scepter I entrusted to you?” The grey humanoid’s voice remained incredibly calm, without a hint of emotion, as if devoid of anger.

But the fear in Malekith’s heart intensified. The golden chair slowly turned, revealing a familiar yet unfamiliar figure.

His physique was even more massive than before, and his body had changed from its original purplish-red to a rock-like grey, appearing even harder.

His armor had also changed shape, with a large Ω symbol added to his chest. Most striking were his eyes, which emitted a terrifying dark red glow, like the light of all things ending.

“Lord Thanos, please… give me another chance. I will surely…” Malekith desperately tried to explain, but Thanos had no patience to listen. The red light grew brighter, and then…

A blinding dark red beam shot forth from his eyes.

But Malekith seemed to have anticipated it. Just before the beam erupted, he suddenly rolled, dodging the attack, then abruptly lunged forward with a desperate resolve, thrusting the spear in his hand towards Thanos’s chest.

In the distance, Black Dwarf stirred, ready to protect his master, but was stopped by Ebony Maw beside him.

“He’ll be fine…” Ebony Maw said.

And just as Ebony Maw said, Malekith, with a furious thrust, aimed his spear at Thanos. Yet Thanos remained motionless, as if completely unaware. The spear instantly neared Thanos’s body, seeming as if it would pierce him through the very next second.

But Malekith’s body suddenly froze at the brink of victory.

The ray he had dodged twisted in the air a few times, then returned, swiftly striking Malekith’s back. In the next moment, Malekith’s body was annihilated by the ray. His armor and spear emitted smoke, falling from the air, rolling a few times on the ground with a clinking sound.

“Ebony Maw, take command of their army.” Thanos said to his capable subordinate. The crimson light in his eyes slowly faded, and his chair slowly lifted into the air, flying towards the distance.

Thanos’s four loyal subordinates knelt on the ground, motionless, listening to their master’s command.

“I need to rest for a while, to get used to my new power.” Thanos turned his back, his towering figure exerting immense pressure on them. “Await my command…”

Thanos’s voice slowly faded into the distance, and his subordinates subconsciously breathed a sigh of relief.

The current Thanos had become terrifying. Compared to before, he now possessed even greater power, a sturdier body, and a more brutal personality. In addition, there was an even more powerful, more mysterious, and even more incredible ray.

That ability, known as the Omega Beam, represented the power to end all things.

And the cause of all this came from a red lightning bolt in the cosmic void.

About ten days prior, Thanos had just finished his conversation with the Dark Elves. He had temporarily bestowed the Mind Stone from his collection upon Malekith, the Dark Elf leader, so that he could conquer Asgard and kill all of the Asgardian royal family with the power of the gem.

After the conversation, Thanos sat alone in his chair, contemplating cosmic philosophy. Then, a dark red orb of light streaked across the universe in a dazzling trajectory and flew unhesitatingly towards Thanos. No matter how Thanos tried to evade, he could not block the indestructible dark red orb.

Finally, the orb merged into Thanos’s body, causing him to fall into a deep slumber.

While in slumber, Thanos slowly began to change. His body gradually expanded, his skin became harder, and his purplish-red body turned into a rock-like grey. On his chest, a dark red Omega (Ω) symbol spontaneously appeared.

More importantly, when someone looked at him, an uncontrollable sense of dread would emerge from the bottom of their heart, as if they were witnessing the end of all things…

And death…

When Supergiant, one of the Black Order, mustered the courage to try and awaken the slumbering Thanos…

A blinding red light struck her, instantly erasing her existence.

Supergiant’s death temporarily awakened the slumbering Thanos, allowing him to meet with Malekith, who had failed his mission.

But clearly, this temporary awakening could not last too long. Thanos needed to fall back into slumber for a period to adapt to the changes in his body. Before that, all armies were forbidden from acting rashly; they could only wait.
