Chapter 7: K-Series Armor

Four years ago, Gotham City, Underground Batcave

The old man, leaning on a cane, walked quickly through the underground cavern. Countless bats fluttered around, making the dark cavern seem even more terrifying.

“Hurry, Thomas, if you don’t want that child to die!” The old man’s voice was powerful, not at all like that of a man over a hundred years old.

He reached a rusty iron door, entered a password on the nearby controller, then hooked the doorknob with his cane and forcefully pulled open the jammed iron door.

Behind him followed a young man with tear stains on his face. He looked to be around twenty years old. A man who resembled him was twitching in his arms, his back soaked with blood that had seeped through the gauze.

The old man led Thomas inside the iron door. After a brief fumbling, he turned on the power. This allowed Thomas to see the interior of the enormous cavern clearly.

A pool glowing with green light caught his attention.

“Throw that child in, quickly!” the old man said hurriedly, walking to the nearby control panel, roughly wiping away the dust, and pressing buttons.

Thomas threw the person in his arms into the green pool. As the old man operated the control panel, the pool’s light grew even brighter.

“This is another small Lazarus Pit, discovered in Gotham City three hundred years ago,” the old man said, taking his hands off the control panel. At this point, they could only wait, so he began to explain to Thomas.

“We occupied and modified this underground cavern. We used it to heal the assassins’ injuries.”

“But the side effects of the Lazarus Pit still exist, so we cannot overuse it. Most importantly, the Court of Owls seemed to have learned something. They began to advance into Gotham City, so we were forced to evacuate and seal this place, leaving only one branch to guard Gotham,” the old man explained the history. “Your father should have told you all this.”

“But Father is dead…” Thomas murmured, his voice filled with sorrow and pain.

“So, what exactly happened?” the old man asked with a serious expression.

“We… were on a mission. I didn’t strike one person hard enough. I thought knocking him out would be enough, but he woke up midway, and then… then he fired his gun. “Your father is dead, completely dead, no one can save him, but this child still has a little hope,” the old man said with cold words.

“We are just ordinary people. We don’t have superpowers. Perhaps with preparation, we can defeat several gunmen, but if ambushed, anyone can kill us,” the old man continued in a detached voice.

“Never harm the innocent…”

“Never betray…”

The old man recited the organization’s principles and passed judgment on him.

“Your actions are tantamount to betrayal. After this matter is concluded, you will be expelled from the League.”

“I understand, Master!” Thomas knelt on the ground, bowing his head, accepting the judgment.

A moment of silence fell in the cavern, followed by the sound of water. Bruce crawled out of the water. His expression was distorted, his arm muscles bulging. He threw a punch at Thomas.

Then he was easily restrained by the old man and secured with ropes, waiting for him to regain consciousness.

Thomas awoke from his memories.

He raised his hand, looking at the blood-red ring on his finger.

His body was enveloped in dark red clothing, looking as if it had been soaked in blood. A red bat on his chest burned with tangible flames, and the cape on his back had become flowing magma.

A sense of fullness, an unprecedented sense of fullness.

That cold, lonely, hard heart felt full for the first time, felt warmth.

Filled with an endless fire of rage.

His mouth gradually widened into a smile.

“Ahahaha—” Batman suddenly raised his head, letting out a maniacal laugh at Darkseid. Endless blood-red flames spewed from his mouth, enveloping his body, and he charged towards Darkseid.

Then the light on Batman’s body flared, tightly gripping Darkseid’s arm that had passed through his chest. Then, with a roar, an endless torrent of blood-red bats suddenly appeared, forming a flood that sent him flying.

“How could this be…” Outside the atmosphere, two figures floated in space. One was black and white like a regular photographic negative, and the other was red wrapped in white.

Clark’s face darkened. The girl before him was more powerful than he was; he had no choice but to fight outside Earth.

“Kara?” Clark thought.

He knew that name. It was recorded in the crystal left by his biological father. Clark had used his own methods to decipher the crystal, analyzing all the technology and information within.

And the family tree of the House of El was also hidden there.

The girl before him was his cousin.

This girl seemed to have escaped Krypton before its destruction but landed on Apokolips, was captured by Darkseid, and finally brainwashed into becoming Darkseid’s subordinate.

“K-series armor, full deployment,” Clark commanded through the small brainwave communicator in his ear. In a large base on Mars, one by one, dimly green mechs rose into the air, spewing flames as they flew towards Clark.

“Then, I’ll have to hold out a little longer!” Clark stared intently at the girl before him, not attempting to persuade her with words.

“Honestly, I hate fighting,” Clark complained inwardly. His cells were filled with solar radiation energy. Powerful force propelled his body, and with a momentary acceleration, he exceeded the speed of sound, striking towards the girl before him.

Although they didn’t know who the guy in front of them was, the heroes had no time to ask questions. They instantly decided to assist this red bat in defeating Darkseid.

The fire of rage burned Batman, and it also burned the Dark Lord.

This power was immense, incredibly powerful.

The endless fire of rage constantly surging from within was controlled by Batman with immense willpower, shaping it into the form of bats.

Batman… that name should have belonged to his brother.

Thomas let out another insane laugh. Endless blood-red bats blotted out the sky, charging once more towards Darkseid.

“K 11 armor, engaging!” Clark’s full-force punch sent the girl flying into the distance. Then, a dimly green armor flew behind Clark, splitting open into a humanoid cavity, enveloping him.

Accompanied by the friction of mechanical parts, Clark completely entered the armor.

“Kryptonite weapons, activate!” Clark commanded. The armor trembled slightly, and then green lights illuminated various parts of the armor’s exterior.

This was the radiation light of Kryptonite, a special state transformed from fragments of Clark’s home planet after entering Earth’s atmosphere.

And this radiation was a deadly poison to Kryptonians.

But Clark had researched it sufficiently. He had invented a technique that simulated his own biological force field, isolating the armor’s radiation hazard from the wearer inside.

This suit of armor was specifically designed as a weapon against Kryptonians.
