“ 107th Division?” Steve stood up in shock, repeating the question.

“Yes, that’s right. What’s wrong?” Peggy Carter asked, looking a bit confused.

Steve immediately set off for Colonel Phillips’ office.

Just now, Peggy Carter had casually mentioned that they had clashed with a detachment of Schmidt’s forces. Out of two hundred men, fewer than fifty had returned, and the name of that unit was precisely the 107th Division.

This was his dear friend Bucky Barnes’ unit.

Behind the running Steve, Peggy Carter, wearing high heels and draped in a coat to shield from the rain, followed him to Colonel Phillips’ office.

As expected, Colonel Phillips scoffed at him and regretfully told him that there was no news of Bucky. He also had no intention of providing immediate aid, as these men were located thirty miles behind enemy lines, past several heavily reinforced enemy fortifications. The number of people sacrificed in the rescue might even exceed the number of people rescued.

But Steve quietly memorized the locations of those fortifications and the route, then turned and left.

Back in the lounge, Steve began to pack his things. Peggy guessed what he intended to do and tried to stop him, but failed.

“The Colonel is currently working on a strategy, waiting until—”

“By the time everything is ready, it might already be too late!” Steve rudely interrupted her, picked up his shield, and walked outside, placing his equipment in the back of a jeep.

“You said everything would be alright, but I can’t just sit here waiting for a miracle to happen,” Steve said, his ring flashing again.

Peggy Carter sighed and reluctantly stopped Steve, who was about to depart.

“Let me help you!” she said.

Subsequently, she boarded a plane, with Howard Stark as the pilot. With Howard’s help, they successfully passed through the war zone. But as they approached the Hydra base, countless artillery shells rained down on the plane. Steve, without hesitation, prepared his parachute, put on his helmet, and buckled his goggles, ready to descend.

“The moment I land, you two turn around and get out of this godforsaken place!” Steve shouted loudly.

“You can’t order me around!” Peggy Carter shouted back just as loudly.

“Of course I can, I’m Captain America!” Steve grinned, then leaped from the plane.

Inside the Hydra base, Red Skull gazed up at the night sky, a yellow ring obediently adorning his finger.

“I’ve been wondering how to unleash the full power of this ring!” Beside him, Dr. Zola forced a smile.

“I’ve mastered the power of this ring; it represents fear.” Red Skull caressed the ring on his finger. “But what about this orange ring? Why is it still unresponsive?” Red Skull pondered. Then he soared into the air, flying off into the distance.

He was going to conduct an experiment. The yellow ring was fear; when the fear he inflicted on others accumulated to a certain extent, the power of fear would emerge, and the yellow ring would truly show its might.

The other ring seemed to represent avarice. So he would try to plunder and see if he could provoke a reaction from this ring.

In the night sky, Red Skull, enveloped in a yellow glow, suddenly accelerated, transforming into a streak of light, then slowly disappeared.

At this moment, Steve was attempting to infiltrate the Hydra base.

He first jumped into a Hydra supply truck at the very end, then knocked out the Hydra soldiers inside and tossed them onto the road. Next, he knocked out a checking soldier when no one was looking, then rushed into the parking area. Fortunately, these soldiers were all deaf and blind; no one noticed him, otherwise, he would have been finished under concentrated fire.

Soon, Steve, with his brightly colored American star-spangled shield, which stood out glaringly in the night, easily made his way into the Hydra factory, amidst countless patrolling soldiers and numerous searchlights.

Something seemed to be manufactured inside the factory, with blue-glowing magazines particularly eye-catching. Steve thought for a moment, grabbed a magazine, and put it in his pocket, not caring if it would explode or anything.

He followed an inexplicable intuition and found the prison where prisoners were held. Perhaps due to a shortage of workers, the number of guards here was unexpectedly small, so Steve very easily knocked out the guards, found the keys, and released the people.

“Who are you?” a prisoner asked.

“Me? I’m Captain America!”

Steve’s appearance clearly motivated all the prisoners. They fought fearlessly against the Hydra soldiers, seizing their weapons, and breaking out in the direction Steve indicated.

Meanwhile, Steve ran to the upper level of the factory and found Bucky tied up.

When he reached Bucky, he was still muttering soldier numbers to himself. Clearly, the Hydra agents had previously tried to interrogate him to extract information, and Bucky had desperately recited his soldier numbers to resist their interrogation. Even after they had left, he was still unconsciously reciting them.

“It’s alright! Bucky, everything’s going to be alright.” Steve said as he reached Bucky, casually tearing the ropes binding him, and helping him towards the exit.

Then he looked up at the map on the wall; it seemed to be the location of the Hydra base. Steve, enhanced by the super-soldier serum, instantly memorized the coordinates.

“What happened???” Red Skull shouted furiously. He had just flown out not long ago, pondering where to find a village to strike, when he received a message from Dr. Zola through the power ring. He immediately rushed back, only to witness the complete rout of his soldiers.

Flames of fury shot from Red Skull’s eyes, fixating on Dr. Zola. This was not a mere figure of speech; the yellow light representing fear erupted from his sunken eye sockets like tangible flames. Dr. Zola collapsed to the ground, his face a mask of terror and panic.

“I don’t know, I’m not sure… Someone broke in, he released the prisoners, stole weapons…” Dr. Zola stammered, large beads of sweat rolling down his forehead.

“Idiots! A bunch of idiots!” Red Skull roared, then saw a figure with a shield on the monitor. He knew this person, America’s war propaganda tool. He had thought this was just a clown in a costume, but he never expected him to actually break into the Hydra base and wreak havoc.

Red Skull soared into the air without hesitation, the yellow light of his ring condensing into a drill, piercing through the wall, flying directly towards Steve.

“Everything’s going to be alright, Bucky, everything’s going to be alright.” Steve supported Bucky as they walked towards the exit. Dozens of meters below them was the factory; standing so high up, even an ordinary person would feel dizzy just looking down.

Then he suddenly felt an ominous premonition and instinctively lay down on the ground.

A yellow streak of light flew past Steve’s scalp, striking the wall and carving a long gash into it.

A yellow figure slowly flew over.

This volume was very painful to write.

Although I write infinite flow, I don’t really like copying large sections of original text. While it’s quick to write that way, it always feels like plagiarism. In the first volume, apart from a few gag plots, I hardly wrote any original plot. Of course, this also led to that volume finishing relatively quickly.

But in this Captain America volume, I had to write some of the original plot because Captain America’s biggest problem is that his history is difficult to change significantly, otherwise the plot won’t line up. So I had to write the original plot. If I didn’t, it would be too confusing for those who aren’t familiar with the plot or haven’t even seen the Captain America movies. And even if you’ve all seen it, there would be a rather severe sense of disconnection between the two plot segments.

So I tried to summarize the original plot in a few sentences and modified some of the dialogue to make it more interesting.

And for the Lantern Ring plot, I will write in more detail, as the Lantern Ring is the focus in Marvel.
