This question would determine which Lantern Ring Lin Dong would give him.

“Is this some kind of test?” Steve asked curiously.

Lin Dong smiled and nodded: “You could say that. Tell me what’s in your heart, your truest thoughts.”

Steve pondered for a moment, seemingly conflicted, then tentatively began to speak: “Uh, I’m not sure… but…”

“Hope without will accomplishes nothing, and courage without guidance will only stray from its goal.”

Lin Dong was stunned for a moment, seemingly not expecting such an answer from him.

“Hmm, I understand!” Lin Dong nodded.

Steve looked puzzled and confused, “Uh, but I don’t understand!”

Lin Dong nodded, then took out two boxes.

“Only children make multiple-choice questions… isn’t that your answer?” Lin Dong opened the two boxes. What came into view was a green ring and a blue ring.

“What are these?” Steve asked, somewhat confused.

“These things were excavated by me from an ancient ruin. According to records, this one represents will,” Lin Dong pointed at the green ring, “and this one represents hope,” he then pointed at the blue ring.

“But I can’t take this, it seems very valuable…” Steve was a bit bewildered, but he still refused Lin Dong’s gift, pushing the rings back.

“Listen, I’m leaving, and I’m afraid we won’t see each other for decades. So, I hope you can accept it as a farewell gift from a friend, and also as thanks for your help to me back then,” Lin Dong said seriously.
