A meteor plummeted from the sky, striking a small, abandoned port somewhere in America.

Amidst fire and shattered rock, the meteor skidded for several meters across the ground before slowly coming to a halt.

As the smoke dissipated, what was revealed was not a meteor, but a meticulously crafted small spaceship. In the center of the ship, a purple-skinned alien struggled.

The alien was clad in a green uniform with a peculiar emblem at its chest. The attire seemed to be made of special energy, giving it an unsettling, almost eerie appearance.

A large wound marred his left chest, covered with traces of yellow energy. This inflicted immense strain on his body, as if he were on the verge of death. He could only laboriously move his arm, using his mind to control the green ring on his finger, hoping it would find his successor after his demise.

The ring, propelled by his will, shot out a ball of light, searching for a life form that met the corps’ requirements. The light ball then enveloped a young pilot and flew to his side.

“Tell me… your name!” the purple alien struggled to say. Each word brought him immense pain, but for a Green Lantern warrior, such pain was nothing.

“My name is Hal… Hal Jordan.” the pilot said. He looked uneasy, partly due to the shock of seeing an alien and the impact it had on his worldview, and partly because this dying alien reminded him of his father, who had also died before his eyes.

“Hal Jordan, my name is Abin Sur, guardian of Sector 2814. Take this ring, and it will…”

A booming voice interrupted Abin Sur.

“Get out of there!!!”

Abin Sur and Hal Jordan simultaneously turned their gaze behind them, surprised to see a man floating high in the sky. He wore a red shirt and black trousers, with a dark green cape fluttering behind him in the wind. His collar stood high, casting shadows that obscured his face. He slowly descended from the sky, a shimmering green ring on his finger.

He swiftly walked to Abin Sur’s side and placed his hand over Abin Sur’s wound.

“This is dangerous, it’s the power of fear, you could be…” Abin Sur said urgently. Though he didn’t recognize this Earthling, the ring on his finger unequivocally indicated his identity: a young Lantern warrior. Thus, he didn’t want him to be harmed by this yellow energy of fear.

But the next moment, powerful green light emanated from the Earthling Green Lantern’s hand.

Abin Sur could feel the yellow energy of Parallax in his chest being expelled little by little. Yet, he also knew that even if all that yellow energy were completely driven out, he wouldn’t survive; his injuries were simply too severe.

“Listen, though I don’t know who you are, I can feel the boundless courage in your heart. Go to Oa with Hal Jordan and become a Green Lantern warrior!” Abin Sur handed the ring to the bewildered Hal Jordan, who clearly hadn’t grasped what was happening.

“Place the ring into the lantern, recite the oath, become…” A sudden chill spread from the man’s palm, quickly encasing Abin Sur in a massive block of ice. The green power ring dropped into Hal Jordan’s hand, and Hal’s face showed a bewildered expression.

“What happened? Who are you? How did you do that?” Hal Jordan felt his brain was about to explode; he had a million questions now. Just minutes ago, he was an ordinary person with childhood trauma, and now he had seen both an alien and a sorcerer.

“Put on the ring, recite the oath, and we’ll prepare to depart for Oa!” The man stood up and placed the frozen Abin Sur into another magical ring.

“What? I… I don’t quite understand?” Hal Jordan was somewhat confused.

“Stop with the nonsense, just do as Abin Sur said,” the man rebuked.

Lin Dong was indeed a little disappointed.

But the next moment, the light seemed to pause, for it sensed two Green Lanterns: one, though wielding a powerful ring, carried an indelible shadow of fear in his heart, while the other, though possessing an incredibly strong will, had ring technology that was inexplicably primitive, as if it were from thousands of years ago.

In fact, it was.

Lin Dong had been to the world of Man of Steel. In the short time he spent there, the Main God had recorded a vast amount of causal information from that world, which allowed Lin Dong to exchange for a Mother Box replica from the Main God.

After the Man of Steel storyline came Batman v Superman, followed by Justice League.
