Lin Dong sat by the window in a bar, a glass of fruit wine, barely touched, beside him, as he silently flipped through the book in his hand.

Then he frowned slightly, thinking to himself, Here they come.

“Mr. Lin…” A man’s voice sounded.

He turned his head to see Coulson, dressed in a neat black suit despite the sweltering heat, standing beside him.

“Do you guys at S.H.I.E.L.D. have no other clothes besides suits?” Lin Dong asked curiously, looking at Coulson’s unchanging suit.

“No choice, funding is tight,” Coulson shrugged, showing no surprise that Lin Dong knew of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s existence. He sat down opposite Lin Dong. “Mr. Lin, can we talk?”

“Talk?” Lin Dong smiled, then snapped the magic book shut.

“Alright! I’ve been waiting.” Lin Dong nodded, observing his surroundings with interest. According to his magic detection, everyone in the bar had been subtly replaced by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, and at least a dozen more were ambushed in hidden spots outside.

Soon, a bald man, dressed all in black with even darker skin, walked over.

Nick Fury dramatically swept his trench coat aside and sat down opposite Lin Dong.

“It’s really not easy to meet you, Mr. Lin?” Nick Fury crossed his legs, sizing Lin Dong up.

Lin Dong was also observing him, wondering what he was thinking.

“Director Fury, have you ever watched the Star Wars prequels?” Lin Dong asked first.

Nick Fury clearly hadn’t expected Lin Dong to skip introductions and ask a completely unrelated question.

“Of course, what American hasn’t seen Star Wars?” Nick Fury decided to follow his lead for now.

“Do you like the character Mace Windu?” Lin Dong took a big gulp of cola and asked again.

“Of course, I like him. He’s a hero.” Nick Fury still didn’t understand Lin Dong’s intention. “Alright, forget what I just said! Is there anything you want to ask?” Lin Dong stopped discussing and cut to the chase.

“Mr. Sorcerer from Kamar-Taj, can you tell me where you took Ivan Vanko?”

Nick Fury asked, his one remaining eye studying Lin Dong, as if trying to read something from his expression.

“Let me correct one thing first. I’m not a sorcerer from Kamar-Taj, at least not yet. I inherited another lineage of magic,” Lin Dong said unhurriedly, but also with some curiosity. “But speaking of which, S.H.I.E.L.D. actually knows about Kamar-Taj?”

“Kamar-Taj has left traces in many places throughout history. We’ve always considered it an organization similar to a secret cult.” Nick Fury nodded, then pointed to the Sling Ring. “That ring, many Kamar-Taj sorcerers have worn it.”

“But you said you’re a sorcerer from another lineage… Let me guess, Merlin’s magic?” Nick Fury guessed.

This truly surprised Lin Dong. Although S.H.I.E.L.D. was infiltrated like a sieve by Hydra, their intelligence gathering capabilities were quite strong!

“That’s right. I thought few people knew about Merlin’s lineage.” Lin Dong said, which was true. Before entering this world, Lin Dong had spent a large amount of karma points to establish his identity in this world. This wasn’t just simple forgery; the Main God had genuinely inserted traces of a branch of Merlin’s magic into this world’s history, which was why Lin Dong could easily enter the New York Sanctum.

Because in some of the New York Sanctum’s hidden books, there were clear records about Merlin’s magic branch, and even some of Merlin’s magical items and journals had records. But these were mostly concentrated on the magical side. Lin Dong hadn’t expected S.H.I.E.L.D. to be able to investigate even this.

“Let’s get to the point, where did Ivan Vanko go?” Nick Fury asked.

“I don’t know who you’re talking about,” Lin Dong said, feigning innocence.

“The terrorist who attacked several people in Morocco,” Nick Fury said. This was the official report, stating he was a cynical societal avenger.

“Oh~” Lin Dong feigned sudden realization, his clumsy acting making Nick Fury’s dark face even darker. “So how would I know? Shouldn’t you be asking Stark?”

“Hmm, I admit, our relationship with Stark is a bit strained at the moment…”

“Because you hid his father’s relics for decades and never handed them over to him.” Lin Dong pouted. Lin Dong had told him some information about S.H.I.E.L.D., including Howard Stark’s relics and the new element Howard had deduced from the Tesseract. Lin Dong had no intention of holding anything back and told him everything.

“According to the information we received, after Ivan Vanko attacked Tony Stark, no one saw him again.” Nick Fury seemed not to hear the sarcasm in Lin Dong’s words and continued his topic. “Stark said the attacker escaped through the back door, but we searched all surveillance footage and found no trace of him. And coincidentally, when Ivan Vanko attacked Stark, you also disappeared.”

Nick Fury displayed a screenshot of the surveillance footage in front of Lin Dong. “So, can you explain this to us?”

“You want to hear the truth?” Lin Dong looked up and asked.

“Of course!” Nick Fury replied righteously.

“Alright, the truth is Stark caught that guy and locked him up in his private prison. No one can escape, it’s that simple.” Lin Dong shrugged.

“Private prison? What kind of private prison? Located in Morocco or the United States? When did he build it? Why couldn’t anyone discover it…” Nick Fury asked rapidly.

“How would I know? Do I look like the prison builder?” Lin Dong waved his hand, somewhat impatiently, and stood up.

The next second, an arrow flew past, striking the Sling Ring hanging on Lin Dong’s chest and pinning the ring to the wall, the fletching of the high-tech arrow still trembling.

On the rooftop of a building outside the bar, a black-clad archer narrowed his eyes, took out a new arrow from behind his back, and strung it on his bow.

Lin Dong looked at the Sling Ring, undoubtedly damaged and unusable, pinned to the wall, then looked at Nick Fury standing beside him, feeling as if there was a hint of smugness on the latter’s dark face.

“Mr. Lin, at least thirty guns are pointed at you right now, so you’d better raise your hands and don’t move,” Nick Fury said leisurely. At the same time, several agents ran over, carrying what looked like high-tech handcuffs, intending to shackle Lin Dong.

Lin Dong felt like crying and laughing at the same time. He obediently raised his hands, watching the dozens of soldiers who suddenly appeared, fully armed and on high alert.

If it were a sorcerer apprentice from Kamar-Taj, this would indeed be a desperate situation, with no other option but to be captured by S.H.I.E.L.D.

But if it were an excellent, fully trained mystic, he could instantly astral project, then stun all the agents present on the soul plane, and then return to his body. The entire process would take less than a second in the physical realm.

Lin Dong guessed that S.H.I.E.L.D. had probably never truly captured a sorcerer. They merely deduced a sorcerer’s abilities from various visual records, such as spatial transference requiring a Sling Ring, and spellcasting needing specific body movements and hand gestures.

So they confidently believed that by controlling a sorcerer’s hands and destroying their Sling Ring, the sorcerer would be completely helpless.

This was a discrepancy in information.

And most importantly, although S.H.I.E.L.D. had guessed that Lin Dong possessed Merlin’s magic, their understanding of this magic probably extended only to its name.

“It’s best not to use violence against people you don’t understand.” Lin Dong showed a sarcastic and pitying smile, then extended his right hand and snapped his fingers.

“Snap!”

The moment Lin Dong’s finger moved, an arrow shot over, but in the next instant, the arrow seemed to be tightly gripped by an invisible large hand, suspended motionless in the air.

Subsequently, everyone present, their weapons, were enveloped by an invisible force, slowly turning into fine iron sand, sprinkling onto the ground. No matter how hard they tried to hold onto them, they couldn’t prevent them from slipping through their fingers.

“If there’s a next time, it won’t just be weapons turning to dust!” Lin Dong glanced at everyone present, then with a flick of his hand, the broken Sling Ring on the ground flew into his hand. He strode towards the glass window, then silently merged into it, entering the Mirror Dimension, transforming into an invisible reflection gradually moving away.

Nick Fury watched Lin Dong disappear through the glass window, his face dark as he muttered, “Son of a…”
