The world-line is fragile and can be altered by the flap of a butterfly’s wings.

The world-line is also stubborn, no matter how much effort you put in, the world still moves in the old direction.

Tony Stark’s palladium poisoning was suppressed to an extremely low level. Although it couldn’t be cured, it could be delayed almost indefinitely.

Temporarily free from mortal danger, Stark didn’t act as recklessly as he did in the movie. On the contrary, the emergence of magic gave him a new direction to strive for.

But the attack still happened…

Whiplash, wearing his self-made crude power suit, swung two crackling electric whips and burst into Tony’s lounge.

Tony was alone on the sofa, reviewing previous spells and consolidating his foundation, even though his theoretical knowledge far exceeded his practical level.

Then he heard screams, shouts, and gunshots.

“Boom—” A man burst in, roaring at Tony.

“Coward! A wimp who dares not show his face!” Ivan Vanko shouted. He had arrived in Monaco early, intending to find an opportunity to kill Stark in front of everyone. But Tony Stark, usually so flamboyant, had turned into a homebody, hiding in his room and not even watching the race…

Why come to Monaco if you’re not going to watch the race live?

Left with no choice, he tried to force his way into Stark’s lounge. Although this would mean fewer spectators, killing Stark was enough.

Whiplash wore a sinister grin, like all villains, mocking instead of finishing off when they have the upper hand.

“No suit, no weapons, no bodyguards!” He let out a neurotic laugh, swinging the electric whips in his hands, leaving mark after mark on the ground.

“Without these, what can you do?” He roared, swinging his whip, but Tony agilely dodged it.

“Dodge! Let’s see how long you can dodge!” Whiplash swung his electric whip again, aiming for Tony. The small lounge was already a mess, with whip marks all over the walls and floor. With each dodge, Tony’s usable area became smaller and smaller.

Tony’s expression was serious, all his attention focused, observing the scene. At the same time, in an inconspicuous spot, he quietly pressed his palm to the ground, and a faint pattern emerged from where his hand rested.

Whiplash roared again. Stark was more agile than he imagined, and each dodge made him increasingly furious.

“Coward, wimp, just like your father, your family are all thieves, a bunch of butchers!” Ivan Vanko began to ramble curses, his tone filled with anger and anxiety. After all, his suit was too crude. Besides increasing his resistance to blows and arm strength, it only had those two electric whips. Because he was poor, he couldn’t create a full-body suit like Tony Stark. His skin was exposed, and if the police arrived and shot him twice, he’d be done for on the spot.

Then, he saw a good opportunity.

Stark had backed into a corner.

He rushed over excitedly, blocking Tony Stark’s escape route with one whip, then horizontally striking with the other whip. Unless he could fly, he couldn’t dodge it.

And he didn’t have a suit now, and without a suit, he couldn’t fly.

The last of the Stark family, this time he was dead for sure!

Then he saw Stark fly up.

He flew up in an extremely strange posture. His body was enveloped by an inexplicable airflow, and invisible telekinetic force lightened his weight, allowing him to float into the air, his back pressed tightly against the ceiling. A ring on his finger emitted a strange glow.

Telekinesis, combined with air manipulation magic, the most basic operations for a magician.

Tony showed a mischievous smile, looking down at the bewildered Whiplash.

“BOOM!” he said softly.

With a “boom,” a strange pattern suddenly exploded beneath Whiplash’s feet. Although not strong, it had immense thrust, instantly making him lose balance and stumble towards a full-length mirror in front of him.

Then he stumbled into the mirror.

The moment he entered, the mirror splashed like water, then returned to its original state. Whiplash immediately scrambled up from the ground and ran to the mirror, only to find that the seemingly fragile mirror was now unbreakable. Whiplash looked around. The shattered room felt familiar, but everything was reversed.

He was trapped inside a mirror.

“What is this? How did you do this?” Ivan Vanko roared at Stark outside the mirror. Tony, meanwhile, was calmly tidying his clothes.

“What did you say?” Tony pretended not to hear clearly, leaning his ear towards the mirror.

“I said, how did you do this? This space? What kind of technology is this?” As a physicist, he had grown up hearing from his father that the Stark family were all thieves and butchers, incapable of inventing anything themselves, only stealing from others.

But this… this special spatial prison.

“Oh! You mean this mirror?” Tony said, as if he had just understood, with a sudden realization.

“Hmm… magic?”

“Magic?” Ivan Vanko seemed to be still chewing on the word, not quite understanding what it meant. The next moment, a black cloth covered the mirror.

Lin Dong appeared out of thin air, covering the mirror. Then he stretched out his hand, pressed on the top and bottom edges of the mirror, and gently pushed inwards. The mirror began to shrink proportionally with his movements, eventually transforming into a small, palm-sized compact mirror.

“Is this the test? I thought you’d find some magic scum or something. Why did you bring this person?” Tony Stark immediately understood something and questioned.

“This isn’t just a test; it’s also to make you face some of your family’s history,” Lin Dong said, applying several spells to the mirror to fix the mirror dimension. Then he handed it to Tony Stark.

“This person, Ivan Vanko, is Anton Vanko’s son. His father once worked with your father,” Lin Dong said, looking into the distance where a large number of police officers were running over.

“I think you must have seen that thing on his chest, right?” Lin Dong asked.

“Yes…” Tony Stark’s face darkened. “My arc reactor.”

“To be precise… your father’s arc reactor! Not yours,” Lin Dong said. “Back then, Howard and Anton Vanko worked together on research. Later, due to differences in ideology, your father kicked him out of the country.”

“Is that why he came for me? For revenge? What a cliché story,” Tony Stark pouted.

I said why it felt so awkward, so I posted another chapter.
