Hogwarts Card System Chapter 293

Chapter 293: Hufflepuff’s Legacy~

“Ted! What have you been up to lately, acting all mysterious every day!” Harry asked.

“Neville goes to the Forbidden Forest to farm every day, so he can’t participate in group activities. But what have you been busy with every day?” Hermione asked, hands on her hips, looking just as indignant.

“My bad, my bad. I’ll tell you all about this experience in a few days; it’s quite exciting.”

“By the way, since you’re all here, are you going to play Magic League?”

Magic League was 5v 5, but it had recently been renamed.

At first, everyone wanted to call it “Wizard League,” but then someone said it was too small, the scope was too narrow!

Indeed, calling it that would exclude demi-humans and other magical species, wouldn’t it?

Inappropriate, not conducive to unity!

So, it was named Magic League.

What? You say Muggles would feel discriminated against?

Well, there’s nothing to be done about that. When the world achieves great harmony, it can be changed to World League.

Besides Magic League, the new version also introduced a Mid-Lane Brawl mode.

This was mainly because some young wizards expressed that they weren’t good at last-hitting and laning but particularly enjoyed team fights.

There were quite a few such players, so they adapted and opened this mode.

If Magic League tested a wizard’s comprehensive combat qualities, then Mid-Lane Brawl tested a wizard’s on-the-spot adaptability and chaotic combat reactions.

Over eighty percent of Gryffindors preferred Brawl, as it was more direct and straightforward.

Playing Magic League always led to frustrating experiences, being outmaneuvered by cautious Ravenclaws or having their base snuck by treacherous Slytherins.

At this moment, everyone looked at Ron.

Jerry said, “Not Magic League… You can’t miss this one. Let Ron tell you the details!”

“Oh?” Ted looked at Ron.

Ron puffed out his chest: “I think I’ve found Hufflepuff’s legacy!”

“Ah?!” Ted made a sound just like Ron’s.

This story began a few days ago…

Logically, with six friends, it should be easy to form a Magic League team.

But Ted had been so busy lately that his feet were kicking the back of his head, and Neville would occasionally spend half a day in the Forbidden Forest with Professor Sprout, sowing countless seeds, leading to a shortage of players.

In such cases, Harry would usually pull Malfoy in to fill the numbers.

This brings us to everyone’s chosen skills.

Magic League generally required choosing 4 skills to complement combat.

First, you needed to be very proficient, even masterful, in the related magic. Second, it was best if the skills formed a cohesive system that could work together.

Of course, you could also choose all powerful offensive spells.

But powerful magic had higher requirements, similar to a mastery level.

Otherwise, an inherently powerful Avada Kedavra, if you weren’t proficient, would be no more than a gentle breeze.

Not to mention if you wanted to put together a set of Unforgivable Curses or similar.

So, the strength of skills needed to be weighed and chosen according to one’s own level.

Ted’s skills were: Ice Ring, Mirror Image, Apparition, Chain Lightning.

His playstyle was all about initiation, being a magic assassin, and one-shotting opponents.

Flash in, Ice Ring for crowd control, Mirror Image for three clones (one main, three clones at one-third magic power), four Chain Lightnings simultaneously—guaranteed to take down at least one opponent!

Jerry’s skills were: Invisibility, Backstab, Clone (passive, can trigger when hitting or being hit), Flying Knight Suit (Rocket Boots + Gliding Cloak, accelerated terrain traversal). His playstyle was hit-and-run, escaping thousands of miles if the first strike missed.

Ron’s skills: High-Temperature Grill, Iron Shield, Mech Transformation (transformation), Heaven and Earth Collision!

He fought in a mech. His ultimate could temporarily replicate the Eva Unit- 01’s overclocked charge mode for an area-of-effect collision. He often missed, though.

Moreover, his skill setup was very complex, with transformation (mech transformation) and two sets of 7 skills.

Once, an enemy summoned a rolling rock, and Ron was cornered.

He suddenly hiked up his pants, and his legs stretched about two meters long, allowing the giant rock to roll right under his crotch!

Jerry was dumbfounded: “How did you do that?”

Ron: “Transformation tech, kid~”

Harry’s skills: Magic Shot, Greased Feet, Super-Sensory Charm, Magic Palm.

Three out of four skills were status-based: Greased Feet granted + 35% movement speed, Super-Sensory Charm boosted all stats, and Magic Palm made her manifest two three-meter-long giant palms. Her playstyle was aggressive melee! She had very long sustained combat time!

Hermione’s skills: Fire Crow Attack, Ice Shield, Blizzard, Swarm of Crows. It was clear all were area-of-effect damage. She was the artillery, needing protection.

Neville’s skills: Sunflower, Spitting Shroom (evolvable), Chomping Cabbage, Holy Sword Mode.

He was practically a diligent gardener!

The magical plants he planted could grow. Sunflowers regularly restored teammates’ stats, Spitting Shrooms could evolve into Big Spitting Shrooms, guarding the tower. Chomping Cabbages would multiply, biting more and more, and they bit really hard!

Holy Sword Mode was when he stopped holding back and revealed his true power.

Malfoy’s skills: Snake Summons, Repelling Charm, Flying Broomstick, Summon Norwegian Ridgeback!

He played a summoner-cowardly style. If he couldn’t win, he’d run, with a pile of venomous snakes chasing. His ultimate could even summon a fire dragon—aren’t you scared?

Even if this fire dragon was still small, only about four meters long, it was enough to give young wizards a hard time.

The friends were all very talented and well-trained. They were also the earliest to access Ideal Home, had complete skill systems, and were considered T 0 level.

However, only Harry, Ron, and Jerry had long game times, and Harry often duo-queued with Malfoy, so Ron and Jerry often lost. Especially when Ron was connected to the global Murphy brain.

That night, Ron lost another match and felt a bit hungry, so he secretly snuck into the kitchen for a late-night snack.

As a result, he accidentally discovered a mechanism.

When his friends brought Ted to the kitchen and saw the mechanism, Ted couldn’t help but marvel at Hufflepuff’s ingenuity.

It turned out that only a long-term, stable glutton could discover something amiss…

It was somewhat like Duan Yu kowtowing a hundred times before discovering the North Profound Divine Art from the meditation cushion.

It wasn’t that Hufflepuff students weren’t gluttons or didn’t like to cook, but there weren’t many who, like Ron, snuck into the kitchen to steal food for three years straight!

Ron didn’t think much of it at the time. He told Jerry, and Jerry tried it himself, only to find he couldn’t get past the mechanism.

They then found the twins, who fiddled with it for three days without success, but they confirmed it was something left by Hufflepuff.

It was very likely a legacy she deliberately left behind!

“Hmm, at least it shows that Hufflepuff had certain requirements for magical ability. It wasn’t just about eating well~” Ted chuckled.

Ted unlocked the magical barrier, finally successfully leading his friends into Hufflepuff’s trial.

You have to admit, it was well done!

Everyone felt a moment of disorientation and then found themselves in a large, primitive village.

Ted surveyed the surroundings and concluded that this was a memory of Hufflepuff. She had left a memory here, with some alterations, to test whether later generations met her standards…

Sure enough, a somewhat short and stout lady stood before a stone table, on which lay pots, bowls, and various cooking utensils.

Hufflepuff looked at them and smiled kindly: “Quite a few people have come~”

Ted: “…Ah?!”

“You need to satisfy these guests with your food to get the good things I left behind! There are many good things, so do your best!”

Just as she was about to leave, she suddenly turned: “Oh, right, even if you don’t pass this time, you can come again next time. As long as you satisfy one guest, you’ll get a reward!”

With that, she vanished.

They could try the trial multiple times? Hufflepuff was really easygoing!

Ted and the others looked again at the “guests”: from centaurs to trolls, from giants to goblins, from Bigfoot to yetis, from beautiful water nymphs and dryads with deer-like lower bodies and green vines缠绕 around their upper bodies, to fierce and ugly banshees and hags…

Where did she invite so many “guests” from?!

Later, Ted found some clues in Ravenclaw’s diary—Hufflepuff’s cooking skills were excellent, and she was very good at making friends. Her friends were truly spread across the world and among various races!

So, Hufflepuff wanted to teach them: “Peace is precious, and virtue conquers all?!”

Ted: “I’m best at conquering people with virtue!”

Ted was still very confident in his cooking skills, after all, he possessed culinary skills from another world!

However, despite his impressive efforts, he only managed to satisfy the tastes of the centaur, troll, giant, and nymph—four guests.

He received three magical foods and one magical seasoning, which had special effects when eaten.

And that beautiful, gentle nymph didn’t seem to be conquered by his cooking skills—she looked at Ted with watery eyes, making Hermione furious and stand in front of Ted, glaring at the nymph!

Everyone had to return to the castle and start discussing what to do.

They had to research what each race ate and liked. No matter how well you cooked, it wouldn’t work if it didn’t suit their taste.

But Ron looked at Ted thoughtfully—it seemed it didn’t necessarily have to be delicious food?!
