Chapter 282: [Witcher Potion Compendium (Green)]

“Ding~ Talent [Otherworldly Knowledge (Gold)] triggered, discovered [Witcher Potion Compendium (Green)].”

[Witcher Potion Compendium (Green)] records the potion recipes of Witchers, which are highly toxic to ordinary people. Requires 230 experience to exchange.

Otherworldly knowledge from January 1994 wasn’t that great.

What a wasted opportunity.

Witcher potions didn’t seem to be very high-level. They couldn’t compare to those in Azeroth.

After all, Witchers were just modified humans created by the mages of that world, only existing for about three hundred years, and they were almost wiped out. It was normal for them to have little accumulation.

However, their Trial of the Grasses potion should be quite interesting.

Ted had gained knowledge about modifying creatures from Professor Quirrell, Voldemort, and Slytherin, but nothing about modifying humans!

Wouldn’t this fill a research gap?!

Oh, and there were also some sword oils for different magical creatures, which he could study.

Consider it broadening his horizons.

As the full moon approached, Ted visited Snape’s underground office again.

Snape was already using the set of chemical apparatus Ted had given him, and it was clear Snape quite liked these items.

In this regard, Muggle apparatus surpassed those of the magical world. Very useful!

And although Snape was the Head of Slytherin and a former Death Eater, he didn’t actually discriminate against Muggles.

After all, he himself was a half-blood, and Lily came from a Muggle family.

“Take this potion to that fellow!” Snape tossed a bottle of potion to Ted.

Ted quickly caught it. It was the Wolfsbane Potion, to suppress werewolf transformation during the full moon, meant for Lupin.

Of course, Snape himself would never brew potions for Lupin; he’d be happy to brew a few poisons for him instead.

However, Dumbledore must have made some promise again to persuade Snape.

He was always good at persuading people.

Ted grinned mischievously, “Professor, I’m still a bit lacking in skill, otherwise I wouldn’t let you work so hard.”

His current potion-making skill was still a bit short of brewing Wolfsbane Potion.

He wouldn’t want to accidentally poison Lupin with a potion; Snape would surely die laughing.

Achieving the feat of double-killing a professor in one day!

Ted took the potion and walked towards Lupin’s office.

Speaking of which, what was the deal with werewolves?

Ted was very interested in that too!

After transforming, werewolves had very high magic resistance. This was why werewolves still existed; otherwise, they would have been exterminated long ago.

What kind of transformation was this? Could he learn it? Could it be reversed?

Now, even vampires no longer drank human blood. Instead, they had opened hospitals and blood donation centers in Muggle society and developed artificial blood plasma.

They were now legal citizens! Even great philanthropists who frequently donated money~

Even Honeydukes had blood-flavored lollipops, sweets developed specifically for vampires.

Although there weren’t many vampires in Great Britain, their numbers were considerable throughout Europe.

Werewolves, however, had a miserable existence.

They would uncontrollably transform every month, suffering immense pain during the transformation, and for several days before and after, their faces would be pale as if they had a serious illness.

And they would lose control…

This was the main problem.

During transformation, bestiality would suppress humanity, making them turn on their loved ones.

Anyone bitten at this time, unless treated promptly before the first night arrived, would inevitably become a werewolf.

Ugly, terrifying, out of control, contagious… with all these debuffs stacked, how could things be good?

“Knock, knock, knock~”

Ted knocked on Lupin’s office door.

“Come in.”

“Lupin, I’ve brought you some sugar water,” Ted said with a smile.

Ted was cautious and usually didn’t say he was delivering medicine, to avoid causing trouble.

And because Snape deliberately made the potion extremely bitter, Lupin almost vomited the first time he drank it.

Later, Ted added a type of maple syrup that wouldn’t alter the potion’s properties, which made Lupin suffer less.

So, don’t offend a doctor.

Lupin took the potion, glanced at it, and with a complex expression, gulped it down.

Ted sat in a chair, smiling as he inquired about how he and Sirius were doing recently.

Ted planned to resolve the Peter Pettigrew matter this year.

He had originally wanted to deal with it last year.

But after several divinations, he felt the time wasn’t right; if he forced the issue, there was a chance of problems arising.

This year, especially in the next month or two, would be when Peter’s luck was at its lowest.

In other words, he was facing a tribulation!

If he could survive it, he would experience a turning point from bad to good.

But he wouldn’t survive it, because this time, Ted was his human tribulation.

Oh, and Trelawney’s jinx had already put a debuff on him~

“Sirius is doing pretty well lately, just a bit bored, wants to go on vacation to Italy with Olivia…” Lupin chatted with Ted.

Ted smiled, “Is that so? I have a small favor to ask you and him for recently. Could you tell him to make some time for me and not go on vacation yet? Go later in the year… I promise he won’t regret it.”

Lupin looked at Ted strangely; he could have just stated the favor directly.

But he didn’t ask further. Lupin was a very good person, highly empathetic, and skilled at putting himself in others’ shoes, so it was always pleasant to interact with him.

“How’s your research coming along?” Lupin asked with some concern.

Ted had recently been researching the ticking time bomb beneath the school—Morgana’s Vault of Emotions.

The emotional power within was immense, and if it ever lost control, the castle itself was in danger of collapsing.

Ted had already informed Dumbledore, but he had no good solution either.

Because even Morgana herself hadn’t figured out how to utilize such complex negative power, and successive guardians hadn’t found a good method, only able to seal it away.

Although Dumbledore was more powerful than all of them, he had no research in the field of emotions.

However, Ted, as a mentalist, had done a lot of research.

It was a professional match, so to speak.

But his power and breadth of knowledge couldn’t compare to Dumbledore’s.

He had recently been consulting Sirius and Lupin, and the three often discussed plans together through the fireplace.

Sirius was very enthusiastic about such matters.

He felt like he was back in school with his good friends.

This feeling was truly wonderful.

“How can you lose with a dragon on your face? Tell me!”

“Seventeen cards, can you beat me? If I lose, I’ll eat this table!”

“Hurry up and play, I’ve been waiting forever!”

“Pour Harry a cup of super sweet pumpkin juice~”

As soon as Ted arrived at the Great Hall, he heard Ron’s shouts.

Seven or eight young wizards were watching him play Wizarding Chess with Harry.

Then an astonishing scene unfolded: Harry continuously drew cards and, in one wave, took down Ron, who had a full 30 health points.

Ron: “Ah!?” ┌(。Д。)┐

“Pfft~” Jerry burst out laughing from the crowd, and immediately, there was a roar of laughter. The Great Hall was filled with joyful air~

After half a month, the progress of Ideal Home was smooth, and the development team had even begun its second maintenance and optimization.

Some young wizards loved 5v 5, some loved Wizarding Chess, some loved strategy games, some loved story mode… That’s right, there were still hardcore young wizards, or rather, stubborn ones with a bit of a masochistic streak.

For example, Neville, who had suffered countless defeats but was now just one step away from defeating the first boss!

But these games all required one’s own skill level to be met.

For example, in Wizarding Chess, if you wanted to create a magic card, you had to know, or even master, that magic.

The same applied to items and so on.

The battle mode also related to your “skills.”

So it stimulated the young wizards’ eagerness to learn.

In Flitwick’s words: I’ve been asked about spells by students more times in the past half month than in the previous three years combined!

Unlike Ron’s usual “ah,” Harry had incredible talent in games.

Whether it was battles, Wizarding Chess, or even adventure mode, she was among the top tier. Her talent was explosive!

She was now known as “Gryffindor’s Sword and Wand Dual Master,” and as soon as she entered a game, she would shout in public chat: I want to fight ten!

Neville focused on “Magical Plants vs. Zombies” and story mode.

Jerry liked 5v 5 stealth burst to instantly kill opponents, known as the sunny and happy little mouse~

Hermione dominated the Wizarding Chess field…

Seeing that everything was going smoothly and the young wizards’ feedback on Ideal Home was excellent, Ted decided to strike while the iron was hot.

He was going to launch the Ideal Home Game Ultimate Tournament, Season 1!

The top three in each game category would receive very generous rewards.

Promoting it was easy; Ted didn’t even have to say anything himself. The twins took care of it directly.

Twins: You just tell Lee Jordan about anything, and the whole school will know!

In the secret base, Ted was explaining the Patronus Charm to his friends.

Professor Flitwick had once dedicated a class to teaching it to the young wizards.

But this spell was not one that ordinary wizards could learn.

In fact, at the Ministry of Magic, no more than five people could cast this spell!

It was a truly advanced spell, extremely difficult to learn, and its effects weren’t even that good!

While it was effective against Dementors, it was useless against physical enemies. Few wizards specifically learned it.

His friends listened with furrowed brows; even Hermione and Harry looked very troubled.

But there was no rush; Ted would use his mental abilities to guide them in finding their pure joy deep within their hearts.

Unlike Ted, whose mental age was already that of an old man, they still had much joy.

In the original story, only three students learned this spell by their sixth year: Harry, Hermione, and Cho Chang.

And in the final battle, three more learned it.

This showed the difficulty of the spell. However, in the original story, Harry learned it before he was 14~

Learning this spell was very necessary, not just for dealing with Dementors.

There were other ways to handle those.

The Patronus Charm was for the negative emotions in Morgana’s Vault of Emotions!

Ted’s Patronus Charm had already “evolved” into a different magic, with excellent results.

This magic might become a trump card for his friends in the future.
