Chapter 273: [Nearly Invincible Belt (Blue)]

The battle in the Forbidden Forest truly opened the eyes of the wizards.

Although Dumbledore had acted in the Land of Fire before, it wasn’t a high-intensity battle.

This time, it was a real, no-holds-barred magic duel!

That Ryan was no weakling either. With magic surging, the earth churned, and bone spears, bone spikes, bone arrows, and bone walls erupted from all directions, above and below!

Snape’s face turned pale just watching the scene!

But Dumbledore merely utilized the fallen giant trees in the Forbidden Forest and the mud beneath his feet, playing with Transfiguration in countless ways, blocking Ryan’s various malicious spells.

In his hands, these ordinary materials seemed to turn decay into wonder, undergoing all sorts of miraculous transformations!

And his phoenix, Fawkes, soared back and forth across the battlefield, wielding high-temperature flames, like a rain of fire descending from the heavens.

Ryan also unleashed his newly mastered Blight and Wither, causing the already putrid black earth beneath his feet to become riddled with malicious curses, stripping the life force from any living thing that stood upon it!

He even tried to reassemble the undead already slain on the battlefield, forming them into even stronger composite corpse monsters.

But he exhausted all his tricks, and in front of the expressionless Dumbledore, none had the slightest effect.

This suppression was absolute.

Although Dumbledore didn’t possess as many malicious and powerful methods as his opponent, his masterful Transfiguration and occasional spells rendered the other party helpless, continuously squeezing their space and gradually gaining control of the battlefield.

Finally, Ryan’s Death Finger, launched from his demonic ghoul claw without warning or premonitory movement, was calmly evaded by Dumbledore, and the battle concluded.

This battle truly gave the wizards present an eye-opening experience.

Many went home and had nightmares that night.

At the same time, they once again confirmed Dumbledore’s immense power.

Everyone knew Dumbledore was strong, that no one was his match.

But how strong, specifically? Those who knew were already seventy, eighty, or nearly a hundred years old.

Now, they saw it with their own eyes.

Many even suspected that all the wizards in Great Britain combined wouldn’t be a match for Dumbledore. They weren’t even on the same level!

No, it should be said that without Dumbledore, perhaps all the wizards in Great Britain wouldn’t have been a match for that Ryan. And he could even create those death monsters!

While the adult wizards were racking their brains trying to recall how professors taught spells during their schooling, and while the elite Hit-Wizards and Aurors considered themselves the combat backbone of Great Britain, Dumbledore showed them what a battlefield truly was!

A one-man battlefield!

His single-handed display was grander than the scene of over forty wizards battling nearly three hundred undead earlier.

After the two finished fighting, there was a “blank area” in the Forbidden Forest with a diameter of over 1, 200 meters. On the ground, not even a fingernail-sized piece of gravel could be found; it was all black dust.

Oh, right.

There was now a seven to eight-kilometer diameter patch of corrupted earth in the Forbidden Forest, which the Ministry of Magic was still researching how to restore.

After learning about the battle at the school, Professor Sprout suggested trying magical plants, especially the Holy Light Sunflowers cultivated by Neville.

They seemed to naturally purify corrupted earth…

There was also a small problem that Fudge had been suppressing.

That was the nearly thirty Dementors sent earlier, who had disappeared.

At the time, Dumbledore used the Patronus Charm to dispel the environment favorable to the undead created by Ryan, and incidentally killed many cannon fodder skeletons and the vengeful spirits of poachers who had died tragically in the Forbidden Forest, collected by Ryan.

But the Phoenix Patronus also roasted the Dementors, causing them to smoke all over and flee in a panicked rout.

Later, when Fudge started looking for them, he couldn’t find them; not a single one.

He only knew that a few had darted near the school, causing student panic.

At the time, having just fought two waves of enemies, the students were relaxed when suddenly a few Dementors appeared, wanting to eat something. This terrified the students, who thought the third wave had arrived!

But then those Dementors were “driven away” and haven’t been heard from since.

It should be known that all Dementors in Great Britain were in Azkaban, bound by some contractual magic, and were grudgingly under the Ministry of Magic’s control.

And the Ministry of Magic provided a continuous supply of prisoners as their food.

This was to ensure these monsters didn’t attack humans and cause chaos.

But now, this batch of over twenty, nearly thirty, Dementors—a quarter of all Dementors in Azkaban—had all run off!

If they darted into a Muggle town or even a city, they could suck the life out of thirty to fifty people in one night!

When Fudge wanted to send out Dementors, several officials had raised objections, feeling that these things were simply too difficult to control.

But at the time, the Death Curse was more dangerous, so Fudge overruled all objections…

Fudge was now slapping himself repeatedly in the face when no one was in his office!

As for the Dementors, while he didn’t know about the others, the four that came to the school were all in Ted’s hands.

In this battle, he completed a hidden quest: [Protect the School (Red)].

He gained a total of 3, 460 experience points and 6 cards:

[Flash (Red)], [Goblin Pilk’s Bone Spike (Blue)], [Raptor Squad (Blue)], [Goblin Sword Crafting Diagram (Blue)], [Poacher (Blue)], and [Poacher’s Knife (Green)].

[Flash (Red)], like [Punish (Red)], was a Summoner Spell from the world of League of Legends. However, this card’s cooldown was incredibly short, only 1 minute!

Its activation speed was astonishingly fast, much quicker than Apparition, requiring no casting at all. A thought was all it took for him to be dozens of meters away. It was far faster than teleportation.

The drawback was its short range, only 16 meters.

But at one minute per use, what more could you ask for?!

[Goblin Pilk’s Bone Spike (Blue)] was Pilk’s left hand, which had mutated into a bone wand. He was a minor boss that Ryan had put a little effort into, an 11th-level elite. He dropped his own left hand!

[Raptor Squad (Blue)] was a summon card that could summon four raptors, lasting for 12 minutes. Perhaps it was related to the goblins’ mounts?

[Goblin Sword Crafting Diagram (Blue)] was dropped by the first goblin undead that Ted incinerated with his Flame Storm.

He was probably the equipment master of the team, whose main task was to craft and maintain magical items and equipment.

This item was a one-time spell card that would allow Ted to learn the goblins’ secret sword-making craft, which was not taught to outsiders!

Of course, don’t expect to craft the Sword of Gryffindor; even the goblins themselves couldn’t craft that anymore.

After all, it was a blue card. If it were a red card, Ted might give it a try.

The latter two cards weren’t very useful. [Poacher (Blue)] was a spell card dropped by a poacher undead wizard. When used, it doubled damage dealt to magical creatures for a period of time.

[Poacher’s Knife (Green)] was an item card. When used, a small knife would be plunged into the enemy’s body, doubling its effect on magical creatures and causing various negative effects.

These two were a jungle-clearing set!

At this moment, Ted was secretly crafting something in his hidden base. Various large and small magic-tech parts lay on the experimental table.

Ted was engraving magical patterns and runes onto a plate of adamantine, obtained through alchemy from gold refined twenty-six times.

Although this adamantine plate was only 3x 5cm in size and 3mm thick, it consumed over a hundred grams of Ted’s gold!

The twenty-six refining steps alone took three days.

It should be known that Ted, with the enhancement of the Transmutation Circle, had an alchemy efficiency more than ten times that of alchemists in this world.

Yet, just preparing the materials took three days, a total of eleven squeezed-out hours.

The magical properties of this material were simply outstanding. Compared to it, even the goblins’ magic silver was far inferior.

Ted had salvaged many items from Pilk’s squad of undead goblins.

Although most of the items were useless, several unknown potions and some high-quality magic silver circulated internally among the goblins, not sold externally, were very useful.

Goblins were particularly skilled at crafting various magical metals.

But even their high-quality magic silver, not sold externally, was far inferior to the adamantine Ted produced.

For example, in terms of physical properties, magic silver was too soft, but adamantine was extremely tough.

Such a thin plate, when propped up, wouldn’t bend even slightly under a great axe, nor would it leave any marks.

Moreover, it possessed extremely high magical resistance and magical conductivity.

These two properties were usually contradictory and almost never appeared in the same material.

Magical resistance generally referred to a material’s insulation from magic. Without magic flowing through it, it would naturally be immune to magic and wouldn’t react with it.

Magical conductivity, on the other hand, meant high fluidity and low loss when magic flowed through it. It reacted very easily with magic.

Adamantine didn’t react with magic, yet it could conduct magic extremely smoothly!

It was simply incredible!

But adamantine also had drawbacks. First, it was heavy; its density was even 2.64 times that of gold!

And, it was too expensive!

Such a cost meant it could only be used for high-precision small components.

Ted had originally wanted to make an adamantine magic golem! Who wouldn’t tremble at the sight of that?

But now, it seemed that to make a life-sized magic golem, he would probably have to perform alchemy for decades to accumulate enough material.

Ted had a single-eye magnifying glass, similar to those used for jewelry appraisal, over one eye, and held his wand, carefully micro-engraving with magic on the adamantine plate.

This work was incredibly difficult. Engraving on adamantine was already very strenuous, consuming a huge amount of magic per minute, which Ted supplemented by drinking magic potions.

And because the circuits were extremely fine, it also required very delicate magical control.

What Ted was working on now was the core component of a magical device.

It had been several days into November, and the otherworldly knowledge Ted received at the beginning of the month was a gnome engineering blueprint from the world of Azeroth: [Gnomish Engineering: Nearly Invincible Belt (Blue)]!

This item could trigger an energy shield capable of absorbing massive amounts of damage, of any kind.

Whether physical, magical, energy, or curses… during the shield’s duration, nothing could harm you!

This thing had great potential!

It might even be able to block Avada Kedavra!

Oh, right. A few days ago, Ted saw in a Muggle newspaper that the European Union had been established on November 1st.

He felt a sense of witnessing history~
