Chapter 235: A Head

Hermione and Neville loved the pets given to them.

Neville’s large manor allowed the puppy, Didi, to run around like crazy, panting and sticking out its tongue after a single lap.

The food was also excellent, with plenty of large meaty bones. Didi gnawed until its milk teeth were almost falling out.

The little kitten, Meow Meow, was also doing very well at Hermione’s house, mainly because it was so good at currying favor.

Upon arriving at Hermione’s house, it immediately sensed who was the boss of the family and began rubbing against Mrs. Granger’s leg. It even helped with housework—when Mrs. Granger was mopping, Meow Meow would fetch the towel. It had completely won her over.

Now, its status in the family was even higher than Hermione’s dad’s!

This little creature, perhaps due to some mistake Ted made during his spellcasting, was incredibly greedy for money. Within a week of arriving at Hermione’s house, it had “collected” a large pile of coins.

According to Hermione, it counted them every night, but since it only knew how to count to 10, it could never finish counting them all.

Anzu would secretly snatch one when he went to deliver things, and Meow Meow wouldn’t even know~

Utterly mischievous!

Ted woke up a little late this morning. He had been experimenting with Softie late into the night yesterday.

It was past nine when he ate his breakfast, and the Leaky Cauldron already had quite a few customers.

Those who came to the pub so early were all heavy drinkers.

The drinkers all raised their glasses to Ted, greeting him very politely.

After finishing his simple breakfast, Ted planned to visit the Salty Fish House to see if Parker had gathered any valuable information and if there was any news about the materials he needed.

Two days ago, Ted received another batch of materials for incubating eggs. The person wouldn’t accept money, saying it was out of respect for the Black family and that they wanted to be friends with Ted.

Their child was attending Hogwarts, starting sixth year. They hoped Ted would take good care of them.

It was an investment in a relationship, which was acceptable.

Besides the egg incubation materials, the various materials needed for alchemy were also very complex. The Salty Fish Network had been a huge help to Ted! Otherwise, just finding materials for experiments would be a troublesome endeavor.

His initial idea was correct; the magical world needed change, needed circulation. Otherwise, it would be inconvenient for everyone, no matter what they did.

His path was correct!

Ted walked, lost in thought, when he suddenly felt someone watching him.

He was now an intermediate-to-advanced psychic, very skilled at sensing others’ gazes.

He subtly glanced over and only saw half a figure before the person ducked around a street corner.

However, even with just that half a figure, Ted had already recognized who it was.

In Ted’s mind, the entire street was like a 3D virtual space, and his psychic abilities would fill in all the details he hadn’t noticed.

He was like freely roaming in a virtual community, capable of many unimaginable things at any time. Visualizing the figure of an acquaintance was simple.

Indeed, the one hiding from him was Ron.

“What’s this kid hiding from me for? Did he do something wrong? Did he betray me? Anzu? Anzu~”

Anzu silently landed on Ted’s shoulder. “What’s wrong?”

“Go over there and take a look, be careful not to be discovered. See what Ron is up to.”

“Peeking?! I love it! Watch me!”

The very mischievous raven took flight, its form blurring until it vanished.

The wizards on the street never noticed Anzu’s landing or takeoff from beginning to end. It was as if they hadn’t seen anything at all.

This was the psychic ability, Neglect.

Even if these people tried hard to remember afterward, or if someone tried to peek into their memories, they wouldn’t be able to find any trace of Anzu.

Because their instincts had overlooked Anzu, no trace was left in their memories.

Meanwhile, Anzu had already caught up with Ron and found that he was with a girl.

Through Anzu’s eyes, Ted saw what was happening—a date! Ron was actually on a date!

The girl was Lavender Brown from Gryffindor, the same girl who had been petrified by the basilisk last year and had been chatting enthusiastically with Ron in the hospital wing.

Hmm, she was also Harry’s roommate!

No wonder he was hiding from me! Ha, I’ll have a good talk with them when school starts~

Oh, and Ron’s face now was fair and smooth, even the freckles on the sides of his nose were gone.

Ah, no wonder Ginny complained that Ron was secretly using her Pearl Cream. He must have used a lot of it!

I can’t believe you, pretty boy, have also betrayed the revolution?!

Of course, Ted wasn’t in a position to criticize him.

Since it was a date, he wouldn’t disturb them.

Ted continued on his way to the Salty Fish House.

When he arrived, there were many old people, all sitting together chatting, drinking, and eating snacks.

Ted: I wondered why the crowd in Diagon Alley had thinned out so much. So, they all came here to sponge off me, huh?

There must be nearly two hundred people here!

What, they paid?

Welcome, welcome! A warm welcome!

The reason so many wizards, and even a few dwarves, gnomes, and half-breeds, were gathered here, despite it not being a holiday, was because of a new invention.

The day before yesterday, Ted had placed his little invention in the Salty Fish House to see if it would be popular.

It turned out to be extremely popular, and now everyone who saw him was urging him:

“Ted, when does the magic movie start?!”

“Hurry up! I’ve been waiting forever!”

“I’ve been waiting so long my head is bald!”

“I can’t sleep if I don’t see the magic movie now!”

“I feel like I have ants crawling all over me~”

“Save me! Please save me! Just let me see it one more time, just one more time~”

Yes, it was a magically modified film!

Parker could project and replay recent events nearby, so Ted thought about modifying this projection spell.

Thus, using some magical items, he created a new type of magical device—a magic movie projector!

As for the films, that was easy. Muggles wouldn’t come to him for copyright fees, so he just pirated them~

“What do you all want to watch?” Ted asked.

Instantly, a large crowd spoke up, all pressing closer to Ted.

“Calm down, calm down. I’ve got a few more films today, there’s plenty of time. We’ll watch them one by one, don’t push forward! Maintain order!”

Dobby, the house-elf dressed in a waiter’s uniform, shrieked, “Those who want to watch the movie, follow me to the cinema on the second floor! Watch your step, don’t push, mind your manners, manners!”

Dobby had been working at the Salty Fish House for two months, and with more contact with wizards, his confidence had grown, and he dared to speak loudly.

His clothes were ironed every day without a single wrinkle, completely meeting the standards of a British butler~

After dispatching at least 150 to 160 people, the first floor finally quieted down.

Those who remained were older wizards, who came here just for the lively atmosphere, to drink and eat with old friends, and chat.

Their ability to accept new things was already too poor; they weren’t interested in those “moving magic pictures.”

As they put it, “Isn’t it just a longer, voiced moving photograph? Nothing new!”

Alas, sometimes things are just a pane of glass away. But the hard part is breaking through it.

Having dealt with the movie fanatics, Ted began quickly browsing today’s listings.

Ted’s intelligence and reaction speed were several times that of an ordinary person. Information flashed quickly before his eyes, and he had already made a judgment in his mind.

Suddenly, he stopped and scrolled the information back.

“What is this thing?” Ted asked.

Jerry walked over and looked. “It’s a clay head. Someone put it up for sale this morning, and no one recognized it.”

“Where is it? Take me to see it.” Ted’s tone was slightly urgent.

Jerry led Ted to the back storeroom, where he saw the clay head on a shelf, just as it appeared in the picture.

Jerry looked at Ted’s face and asked, “Ted, why are you so excited? Do you recognize this thing?”

Ted stared at the clay head, nodding intently. “Yes, I recognize it. This is a goddamn Terracotta Warrior’s head!”

On that shelf lay, remarkably, a pottery head of a Terracotta Warrior!

The facial features of the Guanzhong region, the topknot skewed to one side, the small mustache…

Who the hell stole a national treasure?! Who?!

“What head? A soldier’s and a horse’s head?” Jerry didn’t understand what it was.

Ted had no time to explain. He asked, “Who put this up for sale?”

“A rather shifty-looking middle-aged wizard, with thinning hair, thin and small, and quite a few wrinkles on his face. He looked unfamiliar, probably his first time at the Salty Fish House. His accent was also a bit strange…”

“Where is he now?”

“I don’t know. He seemed not to trust us much. He said he’d try it out and then left. But I heard he came from Knockturn Alley…”

Jerry was sharp, with keen ears and eyes, and his young age made him less conspicuous, causing people to relax and reveal more information. He heard a lot of news.

For example, the person who put up the Terracotta Warrior head came from Knockturn Alley, but it seemed the item didn’t sell there, so he came here to test the waters.

Knockturn Alley, huh?

“You stay here and mind the shop, I’m going to look for him.” Ted put the national treasure into his pocket and quickly left.
