Chapter 222: Land of Flames!

Several fire elementals swayed around the cave entrance, enjoying the heat emanating from within.

They had no self-awareness, only a certain instinct. So they would definitely not stray too far, as other places would be too “cold” and uncomfortable for them.

Just then, a stone suddenly flew from a distance, directly passing through the body of a small fire elemental.

The stone was about the size of a baby’s fist, and as it instantly passed through the fire elemental’s body, it burned and emitted blue smoke. This showed that the temperature was indeed quite high!

The small fire elemental let out a silent roar, arching its head, and then rushed towards the direction the stone came from.

Other fire elementals, startled by it, followed suit.

The space here was too small; disturbing one would draw all of them.

Under normal circumstances, fire elementals would not leave the cave entrance on their own, but if provoked, they were not easy to deal with.

Their nature was fiery, and even a slight provocation would make them give chase.

In mid-air, An Su grabbed Ted’s shoulder and flew up.

Watching the six fire elementals all being lured into the encirclement below, Muradin, Jerry, and Clara, the three mages, began to use “Clear Spring Water” together.

It was as if three faucets were simultaneously spraying water at the six fire elementals.

“Hiss~” The clear water sprayed onto the fire elementals immediately turned into steam. However, the fire elementals’ colors instantly dimmed, becoming less bright.

One small fire elemental, sprayed with more water, even became smaller!

At this moment, Ted in the sky began to cast a spell, his wand waving in a small arc, and he quietly and rapidly chanted incantations.

Because the Azeroth cannon fodder mage’s otherworldly knowledge did not record the Blizzard spell, Ted couldn’t learn it.

However, he had already planned to combine local meteorological spells with his self-developed Ice Shard Barrage, attempting to develop “Blizzard” on his own.

What he was using now was an enhanced version of Ice Shard Barrage!

Cold air spewed from the tip of his wand, and within three meters around Ted, dense ice shards, about the length of a forearm, appeared. Then, as his wand swung down, a large number of ice shards and cold air shot downwards!

The barrage lasted for about ten seconds, with around sixty to seventy shards. The ground was already a mess, with shattered ice melting and then freezing again…

All the fire elementals suffered an almost complete annihilation, with only one Level 9 Flame Soul remaining, and it was also dim and seemed like it could extinguish at any moment.

Ted extinguished it directly with an Ice Nova!

4310 experience points gained!

This was easy!

Although fire elementals were dangerous, they were also more severely affected by elemental counter-attributes.

If it had been six gnolls, an Ice Shard Barrage plus Ice Nova probably wouldn’t have been enough; a few more spells would have been needed.

Moreover, the fire elementals also dropped two cards:

[Fire Particle (White)], material card…

[Fireproof Cloak (Green)], item card…

“Amazing!” Mr. Svarog praised.

Although Ted had already demonstrated his extremely skilled spellcasting level in yesterday’s battle with the hippogriff.

But the magic he used today was completely different from yesterday’s.

Even Muradin and Clara, who were also mages, were quite surprised, which showed that this was not the means of an ordinary mage.

As expected, a great reputation is never unfounded; a young mage praised by other mages was certainly no ordinary person.

Shirley had been surprised too many times on this journey, and now she seemed calmer instead.

As for the young dwarf Jin Li, his expression—he looked at the axe in his hand, and for the first time, he doubted his own combat strength.

The fire elementals were dead, even worse than earth elementals; earth elementals would leave behind a pile of stones when they died. But fire elementals only left a small pile of dust.

So there was no need to clean up the battlefield. The group, with Svarog and Jin Li leading the way, ventured into the cave that radiated oppressive heat.

The passage in this cave was quite wide. Although it looked winding and natural, it was not difficult to walk through.

If it were a very narrow underground passage, this group would have had a tough time.

But similarly, the temperature in the cave was very high, probably over forty degrees Celsius. Mr. Svarog and Jin Li in the team were both wearing steel helmets and armor, and even Muradin was wearing a leather chest plate inscribed with runes. It was incredibly hot!

After a while, it felt like being on a sizzling hotplate!

Ted cast an Ice Shield on everyone, which made them feel a bit more comfortable.

However, in this environment, an Ice Shield could only last for three minutes even without any attacks, so Ted had to cast it repeatedly.

Fortunately, his magic level was higher now, his magic was abundant, and it recovered quickly, so he wasn’t afraid of consumption.

After walking for about ten minutes, Ted felt that they had probably advanced about a kilometer in a straight line? It was roughly sloping downwards.

Mr. Svarog, walking at the very front, hung his short-handled hammer on his waist and reached out to feel the stone wall of the cave.

“The stones here are wrong!”

“Wrong? How so?” Jin Li also leaned closer to the stone wall to observe.

Svarog said, “This doesn’t match the rock quality we saw in that pit earlier at all!”

“Could it be a geological fault?” Muradin hypothesized.

Svarog slowly shook his head, “The difference is too great; it’s completely on a different level. I’ve never seen this kind of stone before!”

Dwarves, after all, lived underground and were skilled in mining and metallurgy, so they understood geological matters well. If he said he hadn’t seen it, it showed how rare the stones here were.

Continuing forward for another five or six minutes, the temperature felt like it had inexplicably risen a notch, and Ted thought it might be close to fifty degrees Celsius!

An inexplicable intuition told him that the source of the anomaly might have been found!

About several hundred meters ahead, there was an underground space.

At this point, they were already several hundred meters deep below the surface, and this area was almost entirely fiery red.

The stones on the ground were scorching hot, and in the distance, between the cracks in the stones, was dark red, slowly flowing lava.

The entire massive area, as large as several football fields, was filled with lava pits of various sizes, connected by wide or narrow lava rivers.

The dark red lava on the surface was slowly flowing, and occasionally, large bubbles would burst with a “plop.”

Sometimes, a fire elemental about a meter tall would emerge from a lava pool, foolishly clamber onto land, and stand there blankly.

In a brighter red lava pool further away, a newly born small fire elemental, before it even understood what was happening, was stomped flat by a wandering, ten-meter-tall dark red stone giant, turning into an insignificant spark and dissipating.

The stone giant’s entire body was composed of black stones, but between the cracks of the stones was dark red magma.

It was more “detailed” than other fire elementals or elemental creatures made of lava.

Not only were its facial features very clear, but it even had a large “beard.” It just had no neck, making its body appear very stout.

Its massive feet were as large as two desks, and each step left a fiery footprint.

It was a Molten Giant, the highest-level existence in this Land of Flames.

Unlike other ignorant and unconscious elemental creatures, it was sufficiently advanced and possessed its own consciousness. Although its emotions were very weak, it knew what it was supposed to do—guard the “door”!

In the very center of this space, there was a constantly boiling lava pool, and something like a natural magic array operated above it. A large amount of fire-attributed magic power continuously surged in like a tide, transforming this place into an even hotter area.

A year ago, this place was just an ordinary underground cavern, but after this lava pool and door appeared, it began to constantly heat up, continuously gushing magma, and then fire-attributed elemental creatures were born, gradually becoming what it is now, and it was even continuing to evolve, and at an accelerated pace!

For the first six months, the space here was only a quarter of its current size, but after another six months, it had expanded by more than three times! The speed was getting faster and faster!

Now, in this underground Land of Flames, there were already over a hundred fire-attributed elemental creatures of various sizes.

There were Flame Guards, evolved from large fire elementals, with two metal bracers bearing natural magic patterns on their bodies.

There were Fiery Walkers, restless and surging from time to time.

There were tall, slender, and fast-moving Lava Annihilators, composed of stone and lava.

There were Cinder Guardians, whose bodies seemed to be made of incompletely burned dark red ashes and smoke.

There was a large group of small fire elementals—they could evolve once they absorbed enough fire-attributed magic power…
