Chapter 219: Thunderhead Horned Eagle and Dwarf Team

Thunderbolt Peak is a gathering place planned by the Ministry of Magic for dwarves and gnomes.

Compared to sub-humans, the former two enjoyed better treatment because they both possessed their own magical powers.

Dwarves had their own runic system, and even a special ability to infuse runic power into metal to forge equipment. This posed a slight threat to the goblins’ status.

Gnomes also had their own magic-tech, specializing in creating many strange magical devices. They were also skilled in various transformation and illusion spells.

According to Ted’s understanding, these two races were not from the same world and did not know each other before coming to this one.

However, after arriving here, they were the first ones they encountered, and their relationship was quite harmonious—perhaps because their heights were similar?

After two or three months, they were discovered by the Ministry of Magic, which began to establish contact.

As the saying goes, “huddle together for warmth.” In a strange world, facing unfamiliar forces, the two chose to form an alliance.

Therefore, when choosing a gathering place, they also lived together, looking out for each other.

Gnomes were not very skilled in construction, but dwarves were.

At Thunderbolt Peak, on the mountainside, they used runic magic and magic-tech to directly excavate bunkers within the mountain!

Jerry: “I heard the dwarf and gnome gathering place is called Ironhammer Fortress.”

Ted nodded: “That’s right. It’s said that the dwarves brought a very powerful magical iron hammer from another world, capable of forging high-grade magical weapons and armor.”

Ted had heard this from Hermione. Hermione’s roommate, Clara Sparkle, was a gnome. The two had a good relationship, and gnomes weren’t exactly tight-lipped. They often talked about dwarf and gnome stories during their casual chats.

As the saying goes, “looking at a mountain makes a horse run to its death.” Although they could already see it, it was still very far away.

Especially now that they were in the mountains, with one peak after another, one ravine after another cliff, rising and falling, turning left and right, going in a straight line was impossible.

Ted and his companions had only covered less than half the distance by noon.

“It’s really a bit hot this year! It’s only July!” Jerry wiped the sweat from his forehead.

It was indeed a bit too hot, feeling like thirty-five, six, seven, or even eight degrees Celsius!

Ted chose to cast a “Super Thin Frost Armor” on the three of them. It had no defensive power, purely for cooling.

Just as Ted was preparing to cook, he suddenly sensed something.

“Anzu, go, drive it away!” Ted called out without raising his head.

Anzu flapped his wings and took off, returning a little over a minute later.

“Seeking death! I almost slapped its face swollen!” Anzu said proudly.

Just now, as Ted was heating oil in the pot, a giant mountain lion was peeking from the nearby bushes. Ted had sensed its gaze.

Then Anzu chased it away with a flurry of slaps.

For some unknown reason, the further they went in this direction, the more magical creatures they seemed to encounter. This was not normal.

There shouldn’t be such a dense concentration of magical creatures in the wild, it wasn’t like the Forbidden Forest of Hogwarts.

The mountain lion had a faint magical reaction in its body, not much stronger than the magic of the little mouse Ted had just transformed into a magical creature. It was the kind that could barely be called a magical creature.

It was as if… it had just mutated for some reason, generated magic, and become a magical creature!

And there were so many bugs!

They were cicadas! Undermatured cicada nymphs that should not have crawled out of the ground. They were emerging in large numbers and then dying.

Stepping on them made a rustling sound!

After eating, Ted suggested speeding up their journey.

Relying on their six legs was too slow. They needed to change something.

Let’s ride horses!

Cabbage, it’s your time to shine!

However, although Cabbage was a tall horse, it was still a bit cramped for three people. After all, Ted and Shirley weren’t very familiar with each other.

So, he suggested: We can use a little magic.

Human Shrinking Charm!

Jerry and Shirley were already small in stature. Now, they were shrunk to just over a meter tall, like seven or eight-year-old children. This way, they could fit!

What about Ted? He had to be ready to deal with any sudden changes, so he wouldn’t change.

Cabbage was quite critical about being ridden by three people, constantly grumbling.

It wasn’t until Ted gave it a Satyrshire Cooling Apple that it was satisfied and galloped off.

Cabbage: So refreshing! What kind of horse doesn’t run?

Cabbage soared over mountains and through valleys, swiftly passing through ditches, bumps, and varying terrains. It practically ignored 50% of the landscape. Sometimes, when it encountered a deep gully that needed to be bypassed, it would even leap and glide for seven or eight meters to jump over it!

This speed was much faster!

Until Anzu sent a signal from the sky, indicating a situation.

Through Anzu’s eyes, Ted saw the battle below.

A team of three dwarves and two gnomes were fighting a massive beast.

This beast looked very strange. It had the body of a moose, but its front paws were eagle talons, it had a pair of huge wings and a bird’s beak, but on top of its head grew a pair of branched antlers!

Its fur was dark blue, and its wing feathers had distinct layers of red, blue, and black!

This thing was nearly three meters long, and its wingspan was almost five meters!

And it could even spit lightning bolts!

Ted saw a dwarf hit by a small lightning bolt on his shield, directly flying back two meters, smoking all over, and unable to get up for a long time.

Thunderhead Horned Eagle, Level 10 Magical Creature / Level 1 Alien Creature…

Ted looked closer and saw that among the injured was an acquaintance—Clara!

Ted quickly opened his eyes. “It’s Clara and some dwarves! They’re fighting! Go, quickly help!”

“Mr. Svarog, be careful!” Clara pointed her wand, and a Confringo hit the horned eagle. Although it only lasted for two seconds, it allowed the dwarf leader to react in time and skillfully dodge the horned eagle’s sudden charge.

This Thunderhead Horned Eagle had 17 Strength, 18 Constitution, Level 2 Magic Resistance, and a powerful charging ability by suddenly flapping its wings. It could also spew lightning bolts from its mouth, making it incredibly difficult to deal with.

If it weren’t for the dwarf leader Svarog’s shield, which was inscribed with dwarf runic magic, allowing him to resist negative status effects and stand at the forefront, this team would likely not have been a match for this enraged horned eagle!

But help had arrived!

A large white horse was seen far away, leaping and bounding over bushes and branches, rapidly approaching.

Before it even arrived, two spells had already reached their target—Jerry’s Relashio and Ted’s Multiple Ice Beams.

Relashio could temporarily incapacitate the target, preventing this massive enraged beast from harming anyone.

Multiple Ice Beams, like several silver-blue threads, wrapped around the horned eagle’s wings and four legs. Although it broke free in a few seconds, it was already covered in frost, and its speed had slowed down.

Clara recognized the newcomers and was startled. “Ted? Jerry?!” She pushed up her newly made magic-tech goggles on her nose, carefully examining her two classmates.

They were indeed her classmates, no flaws were found.

Clara: Ted’s magical aura was even more dazzling. Oh, and there’s a third person, a rat-eared girl? And why does this horse have such a mischievous expression?

Clara was very interested in her ancestral magic-tech and often researched magical devices. After the Basilisk incident, she greatly improved her magic-tech goggles, which now had many new functions, such as “Keen Insight.”

Activating the goggles with magic allowed her to meticulously observe every detail, revealing any awkward or inconsistent elements.

So, seeing Cabbage’s arrogant and narcissistic expression was particularly annoying.

Cabbage: Is it my fault? I’m always this cool!

With the addition of Ted and Jerry, the battle instantly became easier.

Jerry’s various charms, like Grease, Relashio, and Leg-Locker Curse, though often only effective for a second or two, made the horned eagle extremely uncomfortable—unable to extend its legs or keep up its pace. How frustrating is that?!

Ted, on the other hand, focused on continuously casting “connecting lines.” As the ice rays repeatedly struck the horned eagle, it finally began to suffer. Its legs started to freeze, and its movement speed slowed down.

As a squishy assassin, Shirley could only watch from afar.

This horned eagle was too fierce. The armored dwarves could withstand a few blows, and even if thrown a few meters, they would rely on their thick skin to get back up and fight again.

But for her, one hit from this giant beast would send her straight to the ICU.

This horned eagle was over two meters tall at the shoulder and over three meters long. Up close, the oppressive feeling was intense.

Such a giant beast was rare in the wild. Ted wondered why its temper was so volatile; its eyes were red at first.

But under Ted’s physical cooling, it quickly calmed down. Slowly, it also showed signs of retreating.

Although the dwarves and gnomes were somewhat battered by this giant beast, they had no intention of killing it outright. Seeing this, Ted also gave up on the thousand-plus experience points.

He couldn’t just go around killing indiscriminately for experience points; he wasn’t playing a game. Otherwise, he’d truly become a Dark Lord.

Even if he were to kill, he would choose creatures like Acromantulas or Werewolves—ugly, evil, and universally disliked.

Finally, the horned eagle limped away, reached the edge of the hillside, flapped its massive wings, and flew into the distance, wobbling unsteadily.

Ted’s physical cooling had almost frozen it solid on the spot.

“Are you all alright?” Ted asked.

Thanks to “Flying Catman” for the 100 points reward!
