Chapter 215: Left Zero Right Fire, God of Thunder, Aid Me!

At this moment, the Giant, the Mud Golem, and Grandpa Hogger had all arrived.

The Giant grinned foolishly, holding a club still covered in flesh and blood, and chuckled at Arken.

The Mud Golem had only two eyes and an expressionless face.

Hogger bared a mouthful of sharp teeth, smiling ferociously, his axe-hammer constantly dripping blood.

Arken was startled when he saw Hogger, wondering what was going on. Where did this powerful Gnoll warrior come from, and why would he team up with these people to fight him?

Arken tried to shake off the light above his head, but that thing was tracking him.

No one could see him, but everyone knew he was there.

Arken looked at the enemies half-surrounding him, his heart sinking to the bottom.

A fire dragon, seven or eight meters long, composed mainly of red flames and various colorful sparks and disgust, flew around in the air, brandishing its claws and teeth, then swooped down towards Arken with its mouth wide open.

The spectacle was quite grand!

Combined with Ted’s elaborate gestures behind the Giant and the others earlier, which were very deceptive, Arken thought it was some high-level spell and immediately used his last Dispel Magic of the day.

The fire dragon fireworks exploded into a sky full of sparks in mid-air, very beautiful.

But Arken’s face was grim, because he had been fooled again!

He had fallen for several tricks already, each one different.

Ted had used information asymmetry to severely deceive the enemy. Even Jerry, watching from the side, was amazed: This is the wisdom of a wizard!

Shirley, however, rolled her eyes: Is this what your school teaches? I don’t think it’s a proper school.

Indeed, the battle over there had completely ended.

Now, Ted, Jerry, Shirley, Ansu, Cabbage, Brother Chicken, Hogger, the Giant, the Mud Golem, and even Little Rat Brother, surrounded Arken, carrying out a righteous beatdown.

Arken, relying on his close-combat abilities as a priest, tried several times to break through the front line and reach Ted and Jerry, imagining the satisfying sight of turning them into meat patties with one swing of his staff.

But what kind of front line was he facing? The Giant, the Mud Golem, and Hogger!

Then there was the second line of Cabbage and Ansu in the sky, as well as Jerry and Ted’s spell interference.

He had all his buffs active: enchanted weapon, enchanted armor, divine favor, divine grace, brute strength, aid, stoneskin… Even the Way of Nature, which he hadn’t used for years and had almost abandoned, was picked up again, with Stoneclaw Totem, Earthbind Totem, and Lightning Shield all being used!

But there were too many enemies!

Individually, none of the enemies were his match; he could even fight two!

But the other side not only had three or four, but also two spellcasters in the back.

Even a dangerous crow hovered overhead, occasionally dropping black feathers that shot at him like swords!

At this point, Ted had figured it out: this old gnoll was truly strong, comprehensively strong.

But as a spellcaster, it must be said that his spell reserves were too limited.

After all, he was a priest, not a true Archmage.

Just the Giant and the Mud Golem, two nearly three-meter tall behemoths, completely blocked his escape routes like small mountains. Hogger, on the other side, was even more insidious, his sneak attacks at critical moments repeatedly thwarting the old gnoll’s breakout plans.

Jerry kept using Slippery Surface under his feet, forcing Arken to smash the ground with his staff to break free each time.

And Ted, with one hand continuously firing Ice Arrows from his wand, and the other extending five Modified Frost Rays from his fingers, remotely entangling him like controlled threads, constantly interfering and weakening his defenses.

In fact, if it weren’t for the old gnoll’s truly exquisite and high-level Stoneskin spell, he would have been dismembered by Ted’s insidious Blade of the God of Thunder long ago.

Finally, as the Giant and Hogger’s duration was about to expire, Ted saw that Arken was also reaching his limit and decided to unleash something powerful.

Ted directly sprinted, running up the wall of a nearby wooden house as if walking on flat ground, and ascended to the roof!

Jerry and Shirley watched in astonishment, thinking this was their unique skill.

This was the effect of the [Spiderwalk Shoes (Green)].

Ted: Didn’t expect that, did you? I’m also a squirrel!

Ted took up a stance on the roof, began making gestures, and silently chanted a lengthy incantation.

This magic was not simple; it wasn’t from this world, nor from D&D or Azeroth. It was inspiration he gained from that Daoist master—Lightning Magic!

Ted’s eyes glowed with brilliant blue light, flickering like flames!

“The Heavens are dead, the Yellow Heavens shall rise! Left zero, right fire, God of Thunder, aid me!”

As his wand swept down, “Crack~” a bolt of lightning instantly struck Arken’s head!

All his protections shattered, and in an instant, the old gnoll fell to the ground like a charred piece of coal.

Hogger, on the other side, brutally rushed forward and delivered a supplementary hammer blow, smashing what appeared to be his head.

The battle was over.

“Ding~ You have completed the quest [Gnoll Camp Lebuchas (Blue)]. Reward: 780 experience points, Random Card * 3.”

“Ding~ You have completed the quest [Clear Danger (Red)]. Reward: 1800 experience points, Card [Mist of Destiny (Red)].”

Ten-odd seconds later, the Giant, Hogger, and the others’ time ran out and they dissipated.

Only Jerry, Shirley, Ansu, and Cabbage remained, observing the charred corpse on the ground.

Jerry looked up at the sky in confusion: Is it thundering? Time to bring in the laundry?

Shirley: Your school teaches this too? Do you think I still have a chance?

Jerry: I solemnly declare, Hogwarts does not teach this. Kids, don’t play with electricity! I think the Stunner spell is perfectly fine!

Although this battle brought Ted many surprises, the overall direction was still under control.

If the battle dragged on, the old gnoll would have been at the end of his rope, but Ted still had cards like [Restore Stamina (Green)], [Forged Lucky Coin (Green)], and various potions he hadn’t consumed.

Magic rings like [Eye of Dazzle (Blue)] hadn’t been used either.

And [Promotion (Red)], if used directly on Ansu, Ansu could have soloed this old guy.

After all, Gnoll Priest Arken was only a Level 12 enemy in total.

It was just that his many兼职 made him seem very comprehensive.

Either one had to be stronger than him in raw power, or more enduring, otherwise it would be difficult to deal with him.

And Ted belonged to the “more people” category.

In fact, he had dozens of gnolls under his command. It’s just that Ted had already dealt with them beforehand. It was a calculated move against an unsuspecting opponent.

The battle ended, and the sun was only half-visible in the western mountains.

The red sunset illuminated the still-smoking ruins of the camp, a scene of desolation.

Ted and his companions couldn’t continue their journey. It was getting late, and the battle had consumed too much of their energy; they needed to rest.

This desolate place was not suitable for staying. Dozens of gnolls had just died there, and with the fire and blood, it already had a strong stench.

It was a place of trouble, not suitable for prolonged stay.

Ted and his two companions found a small platform on the mountainside that was normally inaccessible, and they had to climb up to it.

Ted used Transfigure Stone to Mud to dig a sizable cave in the rock wall, where they would rest for the night.

After a simple dinner—magical bread made by Ted with magic—Ted closed his eyes in a light slumber, beginning to sort through his gains.

A total of 72 gnolls, ranging from Level 5 to 8, were killed by him and his summons, along with 1 Level 9 Gnoll Leader, and 1 Level 12 Gnoll Priest Arken.

The total monster-killing experience was 3245 (from the eight gnolls in the river valley earlier) + 30246 ( 72 gnolls of various levels in the camp) + 830 (Gnoll Leader) + 2240 (Old Gnoll Arken) = 36561 points!

And there were quests too!

[Mysterious Gnoll (Green)] 300 points, [Mysterious Gnoll (Green)] 780 points, [Clear Danger (Red)] 1800 points, totaling 2880 experience points!

This time, clearing the gnoll camp alone, he gained 39441 experience points! Nearly forty thousand!

Indeed, “killing people and setting fires brings riches,” and “a spell cast brings ten thousand gold.” So much experience, it would take him several years of schooling to accumulate this much!

In addition to experience, there were also card gains.

First, the quest rewards:

The [Mysterious Gnoll (Green)] rewarded the Summon Card [Gnoll Hogger (Green)], which had already been used, with excellent effect and great value.

From [Gnoll Camp Lebuchas (Blue)], 3 random cards: [Gnoll Watcher (Green)], [Taunt (Green)], [Dog Whistle (Blue)].

One blue and two green, absolutely explosive luck!

[Gnoll Watcher (Green)]

Summon Card

Summons a Gnoll Watcher with “Magic Shield,” “Purification,” and “Thunder Weapon” abilities to fight for you.

Lasts 10 minutes, cooldown 8 hours.

Note: A guardian of the large gnoll tribes, a rare spellcaster among gnolls, though limited in potential and strength.

This is also a summon card, but the system’s evaluation of it is not very high.

No name indicates it’s a common type, and its potential and strength are limited.

The only advantage is that it’s a spellcaster with three spell abilities.

[Taunt (Green)]

Material Card

Some individuals are born with a taunting aura, attracting your full attention, even uncontrollably.

Making you want to punch them regardless.

This material has a story! Hiss~ Interesting!

[Dog Whistle (Blue)]

Item Card

Summons 2 tracking hounds skilled in tracking to fight for you.

Lasts 30 minutes, cooldown 2 hours.

Note: Close the gate, unleash the hounds!

And the quest [Clear Danger (Red)] rewarded the card [Mist of Destiny (Red)].

[Mist of Destiny (Red)]

Talent Card

Envelop yourself in the mist of destiny, making you immune to prophecy, calculation, divination, and foresight.

Uses: 1/1.

Note: This card is of a very high level; even some higher beings can only obtain fragmented information about you.

Wow!

Ted couldn’t help but open his eyes wide!

Talent card? Red quality?!

Immune to prophecy, calculation, divination, and foresight, and effective even against higher beings?!

He had always been concerned about the god that the old gnoll Arken worshipped—Yeenoghu, the King of Gnolls.

Although he didn’t know which world Yeenoghu was in, he had certainly offended him.

And that being was of a very high level! A god-tier being!

If he had this, it would be amazing!

No more words needed!

Use card [Mist of Destiny (Red)]!

The group chat exploded! You guys owe me a group chat~~~~
