Chapter 212: Uncle Hogg Rebelled!

Ted had been worried that identifying him would startle him. And it did!

With a perception and spirit of 9, this old gnoll was very sensitive to identification spells and immediately noticed the anomaly.

Little Rat instantly darted out, sprinting straight for the cave entrance.

The next second, the corner where it had been hiding was struck by a rock.

It was the old gnoll’s Stone Missile spell, which sent a rock flying with the speed of an arrow!

At the same time, fires suddenly erupted all over the gnoll camp, spreading rapidly!

A group of gnolls, who had just lost their leader, now found their home on fire. They instantly fell into a panicked chaos, yelping and howling.

Ted snapped his fingers, and the Ogre, Mud Golem, along with Brother Rooster and Big White Horse Cabbage, all appeared in the camp.

Brother Rooster puffed out his chest and held his head high, looking down on everything. Cabbage, on the other hand, looked around excitedly, baring all his big horse teeth: “It’s my turn, is it finally my turn to fight? Who’s the enemy?!”

Ted casually threw a fireball into a cluster of gnolls. It exploded like a landmine with a “boom,” sending several gnolls flying into the air!

Then Ted stood on the wooden wall and cast a Flaming Storm from above…

In just a few breaths, the entire gnoll camp was engulfed in thick smoke and raging flames, a scene of fiery chaos.

Ted then left it to his summoned creatures to handle. Kill as many as possible; Ted was going to deal with that old gnoll priest!

The Ogre chuckled, swinging his massive club. He charged at the gnolls, sweeping the club horizontally, sending two gnolls flying with accompanying screams.

The Mud Golem’s arms transformed into two giant hammers, blocking the only escape route. He swung his hammer-arms, smashing a charging gnoll into a crumpled mess!

Brother Rooster performed an aerial pounce, pecking out a gnoll’s eyeball with one swift bite.

Cabbage tilted his head, opened his mouth, and bit the short sword on the side of his saddle, beginning his specialty—Sword Wielding by Mouth!

Although he looked the least combat-ready, lacking even Brother Rooster’s imposing aura, his swordsmanship was surprisingly exquisite. His first move parried a tetanus-inducing machete, and his second move slit a gnoll’s throat.

Shirley, holding two daggers, quietly hung upside down from the eaves, silently stabbing a gnoll in the back of the head.

Just as the gnolls were pushing and shoving each other, dealing with the sudden appearance of enemies, Uncle Hogg, covered in blood, picked up the hand axe of the fallen gnoll leader. With a savage grin and an axe in each hand, he lunged at his own kin!

Instantly, axes and hammers flew, and flesh and blood splattered!

Meanwhile, in the cave.

The old gnoll Alken felt an anomaly and immediately cast a Stone Missile.

The magic-propelled stone missed its target. Was that a very fast white mouse?

Ordinary mice wouldn’t enter here; they would flee in fear at the entrance.

Realizing something was wrong, Alken grabbed the bone staff beside him and stood up, about to walk out.

By this time, the two gnolls guarding the cave entrance had already fallen.

One was hit by Jerry’s Stupefy, and the other had its skull pecked open by Ansu!

Although Brother Rooster looked impressive, it was mostly for show. The real killing power came from Ansu.

Ansu flew silently into the cave, and then darkness spread like ink in water.

Alken, who had only run a few steps, suddenly stopped. Darkness was spreading before his eyes, instantly making the entire cave pitch black.

Alken cautiously pricked up his ears, raised his hand, and looked, but couldn’t see anything.

This was no ordinary darkness!

“Is it Deeper Darkness?” He tried to use his knowledge of spells to identify the cause of this phenomenon.

If it were ordinary darkness, it wouldn’t block his vision.

He had darkvision; in pitch black places, his vision was black and white, not completely blind.

He was decisive. Knowing that fighting in this situation would almost certainly lead to defeat, he directly used a divine spell—Dispel Magic!

A strange magical fluctuation spread from him, and the mass of darkness began to tremble, then dissipated.

From the moment Ansu cast his Darkness Domain until it was dispelled, only seven or eight seconds passed.

Jerry hadn’t even had time to enter the cave.

Just then, Ted arrived: “Let him come out. Fighting in the cave is disadvantageous for us.”

If the opponent had no way to deal with Ansu’s Darkness Domain, then the cave would be his burial ground. But since he broke it, there was no need for a magical battle in the cave.

If an Empowered Fireball went off, they might all die!

However, what ran out of the cave was not Alken, but two stout, giant, milky-white translucent hyenas whose heads reached Jerry’s chest!

They whimpered and charged at Jerry and Ted.

Originally, Alken had more options, such as summoning gnolls!

As a gnoll priest, he was especially skilled at this. Every battle, he would summon several gnolls as helpers and cannon fodder.

He could also summon ghouls or abyssal demons, as the deity he served was Yeenoghu, the Gnoll Lord of the 422nd layer of the Abyss.

It could be said that as soon as a fight started, he could summon a full squad!

Plus, his original profession was an Earth Shaman, and later he became a Mid-level Priest of Yeenoghu. He was strong in all aspects. Both magical and physical, capable of long-range and close combat, he had never suffered a loss in battle!

But suddenly arriving in this world, all his summoning skills failed. Even most divine spells were unresponsive.

He had built a small altar, hoping to contact his deity Yeenoghu as soon as possible, but several days passed with no effect. And at this very moment, powerful enemies arrived.

He had no choice but to summon two Ghost Hyenas to help in the fight. This was a capability he possessed as an Earth Shaman, and these abilities had not been affected by the changes in the world.

The two Ghost Hyenas were quite fierce. The one charging Jerry leaped directly at Jerry’s face, its mouth wide open as if to bite his head off!

The hyena rushing Ted was even more insidious, making a sharp turn when it was two meters from Ted, attempting to circle behind him!

Ted: Good beast! How dare you have such improper thoughts?!

These Ghost Hyenas were very fast, as they had no physical weight.

Jerry, facing the hyena lunging at his head, showed no regard for a wizard’s dignity. He simply performed a counter-charge donkey roll—he rolled under the Ghost Hyena’s crotch. Before he even stood up, he had already cast a Confundus Charm.

Too bad he couldn’t do a slide tackle.

Ted, on his side, didn’t choose a single-target spell either, because they were a bit too close, and this beast was agile and cunning enough—so he opted for an area attack.

A direct 360° Frost Nova!

Although Ghost Hyenas had only a small amount of physical matter, being mostly composed of energy, they were immune to 80% of physical damage. But they took full magical damage.

The hyena behind Ted was instantly frozen in place, its milky-white translucent body completely iced over.

As for Jerry’s hyena, it underestimated him. Its backside took a hit from Confundus Charm, and its speed immediately slowed down.

Jerry had already turned around and scurried onto a nearby wooden house—Are you a squirrel too?

At this moment, the old gnoll, wearing a strange bone headdress and a patchwork leather robe, leaning on a bone staff refined from a spine, walked out of the cave.

His dim, sinister eyes first swept over Jerry, who was hiding on the rooftop, then fixed on Ted.

The old fellow could clearly sense the strength of magical power.

Ted had just cast a large-area Frost Nova, and his magical fluctuations couldn’t be hidden.

“Human whelp?” Alken’s heart sank a little. He worried if his gnolls had been discovered by humans.

It was impossible that only these two human whelps would come looking for trouble; stronger enemies were probably lurking in the shadows.

He was a bit overly suspicious, but this was normal.

Who would have thought that just three thirteen-year-old children would choose to attack a camp of seventy or eighty gnolls?

However, Ted gave him a strong feeling too, at least someone who had already moved beyond being a wizard apprentice, possibly even a genius disciple of some human wizard!

Such a young wizard wouldn’t possibly venture out with just a clumsy non-human wizard apprentice (referring to Jerry), would they?

So, were there teammates like warriors, barbarians, paladins, or rogues?

While the old gnoll Alken was observing Ted and pondering countermeasures, Ted wasn’t idle.

The old gnoll was seeing Ted for the first time, so he was observing, but Ted had been watching him for several hours.

So when he came out, Ted didn’t pay much attention. Instead, he waved his hand, shooting three icy blue Frost Rays that entangled the frozen Ghost Hyena behind him, completely freezing it into a block of ice in two seconds.

Ted waved his hand again, and an Empowered Mage Hand slammed into it, shattering it into scattered pieces of ice.

That wasn’t all. Ted directly used the card [Punish (Red)], and a thin golden lightning bolt appeared above the head of the Ghost Hyena under the eaves, which was constantly trying to jump up and bite Jerry. In an instant, it turned to ash, without even a scream.

Although using this card on it was a bit wasteful, this card had a restriction: it could only be used on “non-humans.” And while gnolls resembled jackals, they were still considered humanoids!

So he chose to clear the field to avoid the old fellow having an extra helper and distracting him.

This move, Punish instantly killing the Ghost Hyena, made the old gnoll’s dog eyes widen!

Although he also had similar means to instantly kill Ghost Hyenas, the other party used it too casually! Was he carrying some powerful magic equipment?

He felt a bit of a desire to retreat.

It was important to note that for him to have survived to this age as a gnoll, tactical retreats were second nature.

Speaking of tactical retreats, he did have a Teleportation Door scroll…

The previous chapter was scheduled for release, but I accidentally published it directly. So there’s only one chapter today! Sob~
