Chapter 184: Mr. Lucius, You’d Better Calm Down

The professors went off to deal with things. After all, the Chamber of Secrets had been cleared, the monster that almost caused the school to close had been killed, and the Headmaster was returning. They also needed to notify students and parents who had left the school… There was still a lot to do.

The companions were also sent back to their dorms to rest. Although they wanted to stay and accompany Ron and Ted, Professor McGonagall clearly didn’t agree.

Even more terrifying was Madam Pomfrey, the school nurse. With a pursed lip and hands on her hips, holding a large jar of potion, she seemed ready to inject anyone who made noise with a Muggle syringe!

Neville and Jerry immediately chickened out and ran without looking back. Hermione, after instructing Ted to be careful and rest, also returned to the Ravenclaw Tower.

Today had been incredibly long. They had experienced so much.

First, they went to Hagrid to ask about things from fifty years ago, only to be cornered in the hut by Minister of Magic Fudge, Lucius, and Dumbledore. They personally witnessed the Headmaster being driven away and Hagrid being wrongly accused.

Then, following Hagrid’s unreliable guidance, they walked into the Forbidden Forest and almost became spider food. Just being chased and fighting hundreds of Acromantulas was enough.

Unexpectedly, upon returning to the castle, they learned that Malfoy had been taken by the Heir of Slytherin. Then, they coerced Lockhart into the Chamber of Secrets to rescue him, leading to a truly fierce battle.

Now that it was over, they finally felt the horror. Their noses could still smell the basilisk’s unique stench, and the sinister and terrifying Senior Tom—the young Voldemort…

They were too tired, truly too tired.

Ted leaned against the headboard of a hospital bed, feeling so exhausted he wanted to just fall asleep.

But not yet. Things weren’t wrapped up. Tonight, the professors and Headmaster would probably be working through the night, and he still had one more thing to deal with, so he had to hold on.

He pulled out a bottle of Vigor Tonic and drank it, forcing himself to stay awake and tally his gains.

Though Fawkes the phoenix was good, he couldn’t keep it. It had already flown back.

The Sorting Hat had also been taken by Professor McGonagall, but the Sword of Gryffindor was still in his hand, though only for this one night.

This item was one of Hogwarts’ most precious legacies, and he certainly couldn’t claim it for himself.

Of course, Ted wasn’t very interested.

While it was a good item and a growing artifact, it had too many traces of Gryffindor.

To use it, one had to be a student or teacher at the school and demonstrate courage and bravery to gain its recognition.

Moreover, Ted always considered himself a caster; wielding swords was something Neville could do.

It was worth mentioning that the sword was crafted by ancient goblins, who always believed that ownership of an item belonged to its creator. So, they had once stolen the sword and were severely punished by Gryffindor.

But even today, many goblins still claimed ownership of the Sword of Gryffindor. They just hadn’t been beaten enough.

Ted was all too familiar with this kind of argument. Things like QQ accounts, WeChat accounts, game accounts… It seemed a company called Tencent was run by goblins.

Speaking of which, the Basilisk was also an inheritance Slytherin left to the school.

If one day foreign enemies invaded the school and it reached an extremely critical moment, Slytherin’s descendants could open the Chamber of Secrets and release the Basilisk to fight the enemy. Perhaps that was Slytherin’s original intention. The unfortunate thing was that the Basilisk met Voldemort, a descendant.

Aside from the above, Ted still had the abandoned diary with a large hole pierced through it.

Originally, this thing was just an ordinary Muggle diary, not a magical item.

But after Tom wrote in it for five years and then made it into his Horcrux, it was no longer a simple diary.

Even now, after being destroyed by the Sword of Gryffindor, it was still filled with an extremely dense dark magic.

Ted temporarily put this item in his bag, but he would definitely have to give it to Dumbledore. This was stolen property and couldn’t be kept privately.

Speaking of which, the diary was the safest Horcrux. Although it had its own consciousness and thoughts, it wasn’t attached to those evil and terrifying defensive spells.

That’s because it was created early. Fifth year! Voldemort truly was a genius in dark magic!

The other Horcruxes were all extremely dangerous. Later, Dumbledore even fell victim to them, having to set a trap with his own death.

So, although Ted knew there was a Horcrux diadem in the Room of Requirement’s storage, Ted had never even considered it.

After graduating, Voldemort worked at Borgin and Burkes in Knockturn Alley for a few years, taking the opportunity to contact a wealthy wizard, killing him to seize the Slytherin locket and Hufflepuff’s cup that had been passed down in his own Gaunt family.

After making them into Horcruxes, he traveled the world for ten years, during which he contacted countless dark wizards. For power, he also conducted very dangerous dark experiments on himself, transforming from the handsome young Tom into the later Voldemort.

At that time, he even returned to Hogwarts, wanting to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. But the then Headmaster Dumbledore directly refused him.

It was then that he left the diadem Horcrux in the Room of Requirement.

This move was indeed clever. Who would have thought that a Horcrux would be hidden in such a place?

If it hadn’t been for an out-of-control Fiendfyre later, it probably wouldn’t have been found.

So, Ted knew nothing about what protections were on that thing. Compared to the Resurrection Stone ring, the cup, or the locket, it was far too dangerous.

Ted was still lost in thought when Ron, in the bed next to him, suddenly groaned and woke up.

“Ron, you’re awake. How do you feel?” Ted quickly went over to ask.

“I, I… Ted, my butt hurts.”

In the Chamber of Secrets, he was knocked flying by the Basilisk, fracturing his left femur and almost shattering his femoral head. Half of his butt was bruised.

It was normal for it to hurt now.

Ted comforted him, “Don’t be nervous, it’s nothing, it doesn’t hurt. Your butt was blown off and fell into the mouth of the Slytherin statue. But it’s okay, Madam Pomfrey will help you grow a new one.”

Ron’s eyes instantly widened as if they were about to pop out: Slytherin ate my butt?!

Gah~ He fainted.

Ted nodded with satisfaction. This was good. Ron needed to rest now. At least he didn’t have to cast a Stunning Spell on him.

Meanwhile, in the Headmaster’s office, Dumbledore had returned.

In the office were also the tense and worried Weasley couple, and a nearly berserk Lucius.

Lucius trembled all over, his pale blonde hair disheveled: “If, if anything happens to my son, I swear, I swear…” He stared fixedly at Dumbledore.

He regretted it immensely now. He should have taken Draco home instead of listening to him stay at school to avoid being seen as a coward and underestimating the Malfoy family.

Nothing was more important than his son. He shouldn’t have taken the risk, he shouldn’t have.

Dumbledore was over a hundred years old. He had experienced too much in those hundred years. His expression remained calm: “Lucius, don’t be nervous, don’t get agitated…”

I know you’re in a hurry, but don’t rush~

However, the centenarian was kind-hearted after all and didn’t want to torment a father in such a situation. Even though he had been driven out of school by him not long ago.

“Draco Malfoy is safe. And Ronald Weasley is also safe. Please rest assured.” He looked at the Weasley couple.

The three parents involuntarily breathed a sigh of relief, feeling like their hearts had skipped a beat.

Although it was already past midnight, the three parents still came to the hospital wing.

Dobby, the Malfoy house-elf, hid outside the door with his neck缩ed, only showing his head.

Ted had guessed they might come. He had been waiting.

After greeting the agitated Weasley couple, Ted stood aside and watched them fuss over Ron.

Ron was still a bit dazed, but he felt surprisingly happy—he hadn’t been cared for so much by his parents in who knew how long.

Compared to Ron, who was conscious for a while, Malfoy remained unconscious.

Lucius gently stroked his son’s pale face by the bedside, his fingers trembling.

He softly called little Malfoy’s name, but Malfoy had been drained by Senior Tom for too long and wouldn’t recover in a short time.

Seeing his son not waking up, he finally broke down.

“Go! Go! To St. Mungo’s, to St. Mungo’s!” he said, about to carry little Malfoy away.

Madam Pomfrey immediately stepped forward to stop him: “Mr. Malfoy, put the patient down. What he needs now is quiet rest, not being moved somewhere else. He has lost too much life force. I have already given him the potion, and he will wake up in three days at most.”

However, Lucius wouldn’t listen and insisted on leaving.

Madam Pomfrey exchanged a look with Dumbledore and could only shrug helplessly.

But Ted stepped forward: “Mr. Malfoy, I’m Ted, Ted Epiphany. I’m Draco’s classmate. We rescued him from the Chamber of Secrets. Ron was injured, you could say, saving Draco…”

His words startled both the Weasley couple and Lucius. The Weasley couple exchanged incredulous glances, then looked at their still very weak son.

Lucius hadn’t expected this and quickly thanked him: “Thank you, Epiphany. Please allow me to repay your kindness later. I need to take Draco to the hospital now.”

Ted waved his hand: “I have something to tell you. Don’t worry, it won’t take two minutes. What do you think?” He took out the pierced diary and shook it.
