Chapter 180: Anzu’s Ward-Hopping Roundhouse Kick~

[Promotion (Red)]

Spell Card

Temporarily enhances one of your summoned units.

Lasts for 10 minutes, cooldown of 24 hours.

The Promotion card was used on Anzu, and Anzu’s entire body seemed to emit black smoke, transforming into a being resembling black smoke or a distorted shadow.

It spread its wings and glided towards the Basilisk, which remained completely unaware. It was as if a shadow had enveloped the Basilisk in the darkness.

Anzu, temporarily evolved into a special incorporeal entity, silently glided over the Basilisk’s head. The Basilisk only felt a sudden chill on its face, followed by a sharp pain in its eye socket!

“Aww~” The Basilisk suddenly roared, its head thrown back. The physiological sluggishness and drowsiness caused by the low temperature instantly vanished.

At this moment, the darkness that enveloped the entire underground space also silently dissipated. The magic of Anzu’s Dark Domain had dissipated with that last attack.

However, not many of the dozens of giant torches remained; they had all been smashed away by the frenzied Basilisk.

In the dim underground, the Basilisk let out a trembling hiss.

One of its eyes was now just a bloody hole, continuously oozing black blood.

Anzu had, just now, clawed out one of the Basilisk’s eyes!

Unfortunately, it failed to get the other one.

Anzu had intended to seize the opportunity to claw out both of the Basilisk’s eyeballs, but even the cold-slowed Basilisk reacted in time after one eye was burst, dodging Anzu’s other claw.

This prevented Anzu’s ward-hopping roundhouse kick from being fully effective.

Speaking of which, it was still a problem with the Promotion card. Although it briefly elevated Anzu to the level of a top-tier magical creature, its body size didn’t change much, making it impossible to grab both of the Basilisk’s eyeballs simultaneously.

But it didn’t matter, because Ted had a backup plan.

The moment the darkness receded and light returned, a spell flew out from the shadows and struck the Basilisk’s head.

Under normal circumstances, with the Basilisk’s magic resistance and massive body, any spell would feel like a mere tickle. But this was the Eye-Blinding Curse that Ted had been brewing for a long time!

A Level 5 Eye-Blinding Curse, cast with all enchantments applied and at full power!

When magic can be raised to Level 5, it usually develops some unique variations.

For example, Ted’s Level 5 Scouring Charm could precisely control the range, type, and degree of dirt and grime removal. He could even dust tofu!

As for the Level 5 Eye-Blinding Curse, Ted had researched a path that increased magic output to inflict higher damage.

Coupled with Ted’s current Level 1 Magic Penetration, this Eye-Blinding Curse worked.

The Basilisk’s sole remaining orange eye instantly closed.

An even more intense pain than before instantly drilled into the Basilisk’s mind, causing it to uncontrollably go berserk, writhing and rolling wildly on the ground. Its tail and head smashed and swept erratically, even hitting Slytherin’s statue.

However, that statue was clearly no ordinary object; it remained perfectly still.

Tom Riddle was anxious. His current combat strength wasn’t strong; his magic relied entirely on squeezing Malfoy, but it wasn’t much, making it impossible to unleash his full power.

It was only because of the current special circumstances that he wasn’t afraid of attacks.

But to defeat Ted and his friends, his biggest reliance was still the Basilisk.

Unexpectedly, as soon as the darkness that restricted the Basilisk’s performance dissipated, the Basilisk’s most powerful deadly gaze was rendered useless!

Although the Eye-Blinding Curse wouldn’t completely blind the Basilisk, it would at least prevent it from opening its eyes for a long time and cause intense pain.

Tom desperately yelled, “Bear with it! Ignore the pain! Go kill them! Kill them! They’re not far!”

However, Ted’s Level 5 Eye-Blinding Curse caused continuous convulsive pain. The Basilisk’s eye nerves and brain felt like they were about to explode from the agony. Even Parseltongue couldn’t control it.

Moreover, Tom Riddle didn’t have time to command the Basilisk. With the darkness receding and the Basilisk’s eyes disabled, it was Ted and his friends’ turn to counterattack.

Ted directly shouted, “Hit him!!!”

Neville: “Hit him!”

Harry: “Hit him!”

Ron: “Hit! Him!”

“Expelliarmus!” Neville was the first to cast a spell.

But your senior was still your senior. Even facing a half-strength 16-year-old Tom Riddle, Neville and his friends were no match.

Tom flicked his wand, deflecting the most familiar spell with a soft “pop” that struck the Slytherin statue behind him.

A disdainful smile appeared on Tom’s lips. With this level, he could have handled it in his second year.

He forgot that Neville was currently in his second year.

But next came Harry’s Stunning Spell and Ron’s Slug-Vomiting Charm.

The Stunning Spell was dodged by Tom with a quick sidestep, but Ron’s spell was very clever, perfectly cooperating with Harry’s to block Tom’s dodging space. This forced him to expend magic to cast a Shield Charm for protection.

However, Ron’s spell hit the Shield Charm and failed to strike Tom.

But like a toad on the instep, it didn’t bite, it just annoyed — the spell actually exploded on the Shield Charm in front of Tom, forming a mass of snot-like mucus that slid down the protective charm and onto the ground.

Tom Riddle’s face instantly turned ugly!

“Damn Weasley! How dare you attack me with such a disgusting spell! Diffindo~~” Tom Riddle’s voice became shrill with anger.

Tom knew this Slug-Vomiting Charm intimately. Although Ron had started writing in the diary after the Howler, it wasn’t until the Quidditch incident, when Ron was hit by his own backfired spell and vomited several buckets of slugs, that he truly opened up to the sympathetic senior in the diary.

Tom Riddle had even guided Ron to deepen his research into this spell, making it produce new variations to gain Ron’s trust.

And now, this glob of mucus was about to be smeared on his own face!

It was quite similar to Snape roaring: Potter, how dare you use my spell against me?!

Ron was still very shrewd. As Tom exploded in rage, he had already hidden behind a stone pillar. He still harbored a strong fear of this senior.

So Tom’s Diffindo only caused the one-meter-diameter stone pillar to explode into flying debris, while Ron only felt a painful ringing in his ears.

However, Neville and Harry had already attacked again, preventing Tom from further pursuit.

Harry directly used an improved Whirlwind Charm she had learned from Sirius, a three-meter-high, less-than-one-meter-diameter miniature tornado that roared towards Tom.

This forced Tom to abandon his plan to continue attacking and kill Ron.

This spell certainly caught his attention. After all, it had been improved by Sirius, not some common magic.

Not only did it last a long time and cover a large area, but it also had a tracking effect.

Tom had to use a Finite Incantatem to forcefully break the spell.

But by this time, Neville had already pulled out a large pile of things from his extended space pouch and thrown them out.

Yes, they were all the magical plants he had cultivated.

From large and small mushrooms to Biting Cabbages, to Venomous Tentaculas and Devil’s Snare. A huge pile of vegetables and fruits, it instantly felt like they had entered a vegetable garden.

“Engorgio!” Neville immediately cast a spell on his diligently cultivated plants.

The Growth Charm, a spell that makes plants grow quickly.

Because it was frequently used in Herbology, Neville was very proficient in this spell.

“Engorgio!” Then he cast an Engorgement Charm again.

The magical plants, which had already begun to grow rapidly, started to inflate like balloons.

The Giant Puffcap was two meters in diameter! Its facial features on the cap were clearly visible, and it was gurgling and spitting pale purple bubbles towards Tom Riddle in the distance.

And the Venomous Tentaculas and Devil’s Snare spread everywhere, their vines growing wildly, crawling towards Tom Riddle.

There was also a pile of Biting Cabbages of all sizes, bouncing and pouncing.

However, Tom looked at the various vegetables and fruits crawling all over the floor with great disdain.

When he was at school, his worst subject was Divination, and the one he paid the least attention to was Herbology.

Even later, when he delved into dark magic and needed some dark potions, he preferred strange and unusual ingredients rather than herbs.

He thought these things were too weak, too foolish, and too simple; he looked down on them.

Facing these plants rolling and crawling towards him, Tom Riddle grinned, “Ha, the Boy Who Lived and defeated Voldemort, is this all you’ve got?!”
