Chapter 110: A Visit to the Burrow

“Children, lunch is in two hours. Before then, you’re free to do as you please. Take our guests on a tour,” Molly said, then glared at the twins. “No trouble! George? Fred?”

“Mom, I’m Fred.”

“I’m George!”

Molly didn’t even look at them. “It doesn’t matter who’s who. If you cause trouble, I’ll hit both of you!”

The two shrugged, indicating their surrender.

The twins originally wanted to pull Ted to their secret warehouse base to discuss magical props and second-hand goods trading.

In the past month, they had earned seven or eight Galleons by selling useless old second-hand items from their home, and their spirits were soaring.

However, Arthur Weasley had already pulled Ted aside and started asking him about Muggle technology.

He was asking about televisions.

Ted patiently explained, but Mr. Weasley was completely lost.

Ted finally said, “Mr. Weasley, Muggle technology is progressive and systematic. A television involves too much knowledge, even I can’t fully explain it. I suggest we start with something simpler, like a radio. I heard someone in the wizarding world is working on that now?”

This topic hit Arthur right in the heart; this was his domain.

Don’t forget his position in the Ministry of Magic: Head of the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office.

Although he only had one direct subordinate.

But things like modified radios really did fall under his jurisdiction.

Arthur Weasley: My turn!

He enthusiastically discussed with Ted whether modified radios could become widespread and asked about their basic principles.

Finally, he even thanked Ted—thanked him for the information, which would help him draft relevant laws.

Truly, ‘I’ll write a law for you right now!’

Finally, he whispered to Ted, “We talked about cars last time we met. I’ve already modified mine. When I get a chance, I’ll show it to you. It’s fantastic!”

Mr. Weasley felt incredibly comfortable talking to this young man; it was as if every word he spoke resonated with him. He decided he must talk to him more often in the future.

Ted glanced at Aunt Molly, who was orchestrating pots and pans in the nearby kitchen, and cautiously nodded.

You’re the legislator, you make the rules.

The children in the yard were catching gnomes. Seeing that Ted had finally been released by Mr. Weasley, they all called him over to help.

Ron reached into an arm-thick hole and pulled out a strange creature slightly larger than a potato.

It had a very large head, bigger than its body, like a lumpy potato.

It had facial features, but they were a bit ugly, and its intelligent eyes weren’t much better than a purebred husky’s.

Seeing Ron winding up his arm to throw it, Ted quickly intervened, “Wait, Ron, let me see, I haven’t seen one of these before!”

Ron handed the gnome to Ted. “Okay, but be careful, they bite.”

Ted held the creature’s head, letting it struggle, and examined it carefully. It had four limbs and facial features, but its brain didn’t seem very bright.

“Are they called gnomes?” he asked.

George said, “Gnomes, potato gnomes, ground rats… they have many names, whichever you prefer. They dig holes in the yard and gnaw on vegetable roots. Mum hates them, but Dad won’t let us kill them. So we always throw them far away, hoping they get lost and can’t find their way back…”

Fred chuckled, “It seems to have little effect. Maybe we should get a digging ferret; those things specifically eat gnomes.”

In Ted’s perception, this creature also had magic within it, though it was very, very faint.

This thing wasn’t even a mere creature, but a type of elemental being, similar to Red Caps or pixies. It was just very weak.

Ted fiddled with the gnome in his hand and asked, “Do they have genders?”

This question stumped everyone. Finally, they tried to find out through practical means, but found no gender characteristics.

This supported Ted’s hypothesis: these things weren’t produced through normal reproduction.

Like many magical creatures, they were generated by magic.

If this wasn’t the Burrow’s vegetable garden, gnomes wouldn’t be born here.

It was because of the activities of the wizarding Weasley family that gnomes appeared here.

Lunch was very hearty, not big on meat and fish, but full of wholesome home-cooked dishes.

Eating with a large group made the food taste better, and everyone ate with gusto.

Aunt Molly kept serving them food until Jerry was constantly burping.

During lunch, Mr. Weasley brought up his work.

He mentioned that recently, some wizards living in remote areas had been attacked by interdimensional monsters, and one old wizard had even died. The culprit hadn’t been found yet.

Now, everyone was in a panic, and wizards living too remotely were considering moving.

The Ministry of Magic had to take action, and even Mr. Weasley was seconded to the Misuse of Magical Artefacts Office to help confiscate illegal dark magic items.

“Yesterday, we raided nine places, nine whole places! Mundungus Fletcher, that old scoundrel, even tried to cast a jinx on me when I turned my back… In a couple of days, I’ll take people to raid the Malfoys’!”

Mr. Weasley was overjoyed at the mention of raiding the Malfoys’. It was a rare opportunity to cause trouble for his old rivals.

However, Ted was more concerned about the news of wizards being attacked by interdimensional monsters.

Since they were called interdimensional monsters, they were naturally unknown monsters that had not been discovered or classified before.

Who knew what the situation would be.

After lunch, Ron took Neville, Ted, and Jerry to his room to visit and rest, while Hermione and Holly went to Ginny’s room.

Ginny was starting Hogwarts in September, and the little girl let out a scream when she saw Neville, her face turning red as she ran off, only to reappear moments later to peek. This scared Neville so much he didn’t know where to put his hands.

Since it was called the Burrow, the house wasn’t particularly beautiful. But there was enough space.

Because of magic, the entire house was built in a shape that defied architectural common sense. When needed, it expanded upwards or sideways, and the house’s exterior completely disregarded mechanical principles.

Ron’s room wasn’t aesthetically pleasing, but it was large and could be decorated freely.

Quidditch posters on the walls, a frog with antennae on its head in a fish tank on the windowsill, shelves filled with various small toys and trinkets…

In Ron’s room, he looked a bit self-conscious at his three friends. “It’s pretty ordinary, right?”

Ted put his arm around his neck. “Ron, you’re not trying to show off, are you? I don’t even have my own room!”

Jerry also leaned in. “My room can only fit a bed, a desk, and a chair! Dude, this is awesome, okay?”

Neville also whispered, “My room has no toys, I don’t have any toys! I envy you!”

Ron quickly apologized to everyone, and his mood relaxed. That slight feeling of inferiority disappeared.

Meanwhile, on the girls’ side, Ginny was quietly asking Holly and Hermione about school, mainly about Neville.

Regarding the Sorting Hat, the two girls exchanged a knowing glance.

Holly said gravely, “Sorting requires a test! A very difficult test!”

Hermione frowned. “I really can’t bear to think about what happened back then!”

Holly: “Exactly, it was too dangerous. If I had to do it again, I’m not sure I could pass.”

Hermione: I’m already worried about the new students.

In short, the little girl was almost in tears from being tricked.

Holly, Hermione: We didn’t mean to scare you, after all, this is one of Hogwarts’ traditions too~
