Hogwarts Card System Chapter 054

No one knew where the news came from, but Malfoy found out that Ted and Ron would be staying at school.

Then, before a Potions class attended by all four houses, that guy started running his mouth in the hallway.

He said to his henchman Goyle with a smirk, “I really feel sorry for those people…”

He dramatically sniffed and wiped his eyes, “They have to stay at Hogwarts for Christmas because their families don’t want them anymore~”

His smirking, sarcastic demeanor was like that of a spoiled brat who hadn’t been taught a lesson by society.

Ted glanced at him. “Yeah! For example, our Young Master Malfoy can go home and throw himself into his mother’s arms, crying and recounting stories of getting beaten up at school until his eyes were bruised. And his cowardly behavior of not daring to keep an appointment and embarrassing Slytherin. Maybe his mom will give him a pacifier to comfort him!”

“Hahahaha!” Ron, Jerry, and the others burst into an exaggerated, jumping, thigh-slapping roar of laughter to humiliate Malfoy.

Poor Malfoy, who had come to feel superior, unfortunately cared deeply about others’ opinions. This immediately broke him!

He lunged directly at Ron, and another fistfight broke out in the hallway.

However, tragically, they were outnumbered, and in the end, Malfoy, with one eye bruised, was dragged away by his two cronies.

Jerry rubbed his aching foot, while Ron touched his slightly swollen lip from a punch, looking as if he had gotten his revenge. Harry stood with hands on her hips, grinning triumphantly, and Neville also grinned. Only Hermione wore a helpless expression of “you childish headaches.”

Even Ted’s Ansu looked victorious, squatting on the windowsill and shouting, “Draco, horse manure!”

Well, Ted taught him that!

Ron and the others thought “horse manure” was a perfect description for Malfoy and decided to call him that from now on.

Ted sometimes forgot that he would only be 12 after the New Year, and only after such “group activities” did he feel the unrestrained vigor of youth. Comfortable~

Of course, it was comfortable to fight!

Now, with his physique of 5, he already had the physique of an adult at such a young age, specializing in beating up Malfoy’s two tall and big henchmen.

Ted tidied his books and chuckled, “Although his two henchmen are big and stupid, like two hairless gorillas. But he shouldn’t always provoke the five of us. Is it possible that our Young Master Horse Manure is actually a masochist?”

“What’s a masochist?” Ron caught the key point and asked immediately, and the other小伙伴s also looked over.

“Well…” Ted hesitated, then slowly explained~

A door to a new world slowly opened to everyone.

The consequence of this battle was that Malfoy went to Snape to complain.

Although Hermione didn’t lay a hand, Snape deducted 20 points from Ravenclaw, even though only Ted had fought.

Although Malfoy’s black eye was from Harry, Snape deducted 30 points from the Gryffindor quartet.

The favoritism was blatant.

As Christmas approached, Ron and Neville both wrote letters home, mentioning the orphan Ted and the rat-eared sub-human Jerry.

Neville’s grandmother’s reply praised him, a rare occurrence, saying that befriending excellent wizards could be rewarding…

“And if you find his character noble and your interests align, don’t mind what kind of ears he has.”

The old lady was quite insightful; it would be even better if she weren’t so strict with Neville.

And Ron’s mother, Molly, expressed deep sympathy for the two boys’ experiences in her letter and welcomed them to visit their home in the future.

Tomorrow was Christmas Day, and there were no classes in the afternoon.

Students going home for the holidays were busy packing their luggage, especially first-years, who were returning home for the first time after half a year away, eager to go home.

Ted saw Hagrid outside the Great Hall.

He was dragging four or five small pine trees towards the castle.

Every Christmas, Hagrid would bring many Christmas trees to the Great Hall. These small trees were used to decorate the Christmas tree.

Ted extended his wand and used a Levitation Charm to help Hagrid float the trees.

Hagrid held a small tree with one hand, easily swinging it with a whoosh, immediately delighted: Ted, this thing is so much better than a wand!

Ted and the others quickly ducked and moved away; this was far more formidable than a troll’s club!

As everyone was laughing, Malfoy suddenly appeared again, loudly “joking” with his two henchmen:

“I guess some people want to work for the gamekeeper to earn some pocket money for Christmas.”

This little bastard had been lurking near Ted and his friends lately, looking like he wanted to cause trouble but was afraid of getting beaten.

Hermione and the others were furious at the time and were about to show Malfoy the power of numbers again.

But Ted pulled them away because Filch was lurking in the corner, waiting to catch them.

However, Ted didn’t let him off the hook. Instead, he pulled something out at the corner and threw it at Malfoy’s head.

Malfoy cried out, clutching his head, but couldn’t find anyone.

Hermione asked curiously, “What did you hit him with?”

Ted held out his hand; it was a rock cake.

Harry looked surprised. “You still kept it?”

Ted smiled. “I knew it would come in handy eventually.”

The holidays arrived, and on a cold, slightly misty morning, Ted and the others saw Hermione and Harry off at the school’s main entrance.

Only first-years arrived by boat; after that, they used the main entrance and took Thestral carriages.

Others couldn’t see the Thestrals, but they weren’t confused by the “automatic carriages,” as it was a magical world after all.

But Ted could see them. They were emaciated, strange horses, not pretty, but seemed quite docile.

He wondered: I haven’t personally witnessed any death, have I? Was it when I transmigrated in my previous life?

Did I see myself die?!

Strange~

Waving goodbye to Hermione and Harry, he watched them disappear in the carriage.

They would pass through the road outside Hogsmeade Village, all the way to Hogsmeade Station where they arrived, and then take the train.

The day before, two Ministry of Magic employees had brought a stack of parchment for the first-years to sign.

Ted could feel magical fluctuations on it; it wasn’t just ordinary legal terms. Although it was titled “Regulations on the Use of Magic by Underage Wizards Outside of School,” Ted felt it should be a contract.

After signing, a trace of invisible magic indeed enveloped his wand, then disappeared.

Ted later asked Professor McGonagall, and that thing was indeed a contractual magic. After signing, a Trace would monitor the wand, and if someone used magic nearby, there would be a reaction. Then the Ministry of Magic would know that someone had used magic.

New students signed it before every holiday, and the effect would last until they turned 17.

Of course, this thing also had loopholes; it was impossible to distinguish who used magic in places with many wizards.

So, wizarding families were essentially unrestricted, or in places like Diagon Alley, they wouldn’t trigger the Ministry’s regulations.

In short, it was a means to restrict Muggle-born young wizards from using magic outside of school.

The Christmas holiday came at a good time, and the students immediately relaxed. There were even few professors left at school.

Without Neville’s urging, Ron and Jerry, two big lazybones, even skipped their morning runs, calling it a “Christmas holiday for their legs.”

Ron and Jerry: We’ve been studying for half a year, can’t we enjoy ourselves?

Going to the library? Don’t even mention it! If anyone suggests it, I’ll fight them!

The library doesn’t belong to Christmas holidays~

So, Ted always went to the library by himself.

On one hand, it was to accumulate knowledge about spells, and on the other, to search for information about the thought magic left by Lady Ravenclaw.

Although Hogwarts claimed to be the largest magical library in Great Britain, with over a hundred thousand books, two floors, hundreds of bookshelves stacked from the ground to the ceiling, and even a Restricted Section.

But Ted still hadn’t found any useful information.

It was likely that this kind of thought magic was unique to Ravenclaw, and no one else had studied it in later generations.

After all, the four founders of the school were the peak existences of the entire magical world at that time, and the things they researched must have been very advanced.

And over the past millennium, while the magical world has made progress in many areas, the progress hasn’t been as significant as the decline, and much ancient knowledge has been lost.

Now, ancient magic has become a rare term, and ancient runes have become an unpopular elective course.

In such a small, specialized society, the loss of such knowledge is almost inevitable.

What to do then?

One day, Ted was reading in the library when two people suddenly sat down opposite him.

He looked up and saw a pair of twins.

Not the Weasleys; George and Fred usually didn’t come to the library unless necessary.

It was another pair of female twins: Parvati Patil and her sister Padma Patil.

Both were Indian students; the former was in Gryffindor, Harry’s roommate, and the latter in Ravenclaw, Hermione’s roommate.

Both had black hair, were very beautiful, and had very fair skin, not as dark as in the movies, but that high-caste white skin.

In the original novel, they were the “school beauties” of their respective houses.

The movie might have cast “typical Indians” for “correctness.”

“Hi, Ted.” The younger sister, Padma, waved to Ted. The older sister also nodded to Ted.

Ted still had a good reputation among the first-years. Not to mention Ted’s point-scoring behavior in other classes, just his constant teasing of Snape and giving away the points he earned was something most people couldn’t do.

The first-years disliked Snape, but they feared him more. But Ted truly wasn’t afraid!

Not to mention anything else, just Ted’s rendition of “Hog(warts) of Utmost Bliss” during the Sorting Ceremony was enough to make eighty percent of the students remember him.

And the Halloween incident that scared many students senseless was still fresh in many people’s minds.

“Are you two also staying at school for the holidays?” Ted asked quietly, taking advantage of Madam Pince’s absence.

The Patil twins’ hometown was still India, and although they were British citizens, their family had returned to India for something, so they stayed at school for the holidays.

The three chatted well, and Ted also asked some questions about the Indian magical world…
