Chapter 39: The unspeakable monster approaches Rogue Town (Ch 39)

The office of the Naval Branch in Rogge Town was filled with smoke.
Dashiqi stood straight in front of the desk, holding tightly in her hand a piece of information that had just been delivered. The look in her eyes behind the glasses revealed a solemnity that was difficult to conceal.
“Colonel Smoker, the latest information is that the gang in this town, the Balto Club… seems to have taken in and hidden the remnants of the Mara family.”
Navy Captain Smoker sat back in his chair with two cigars in his mouth. Thick smoke overflowed from the corners of his mouth and nostrils with his breathing, shrouding most of his face in haze.
When he heard the words “Mara family”, his eyebrows moved slightly, showing a little surprise.
“The Mara family? Humph, there are still some rats in the gutter who are still alive? Are you brave enough to come to Rogue Town?”
He exhaled a puff of smoke and his eyes fell on Dashiqi’s face: “Who did it? Bartolomeo, that green-haired thug?”
Dashiqi pushed up her glasses and nodded, “Yes, Colonel. And… according to the intelligence, Bartolomeo not only did not expel him, but instead spread the word that he wanted to use the man from the Mara family as bait to lure over the ‘tyrant’ Moze who has been causing a lot of trouble in the East China Sea recently.”
She paused, as if she also felt that this idea was too absurd: “He claimed… that he wanted to defeat the ‘tyrant’ Moze in public, step on the name of this great pirate to rise to the top and become famous.”

“Does he think that ‘Tyrant’ Moze is one of those useless pirates from the East China Sea who can only rob a few broken fishing boats? He is such an ignorant person!” Smoker suddenly took the cigar from his mouth and smothered it in the ashtray full of cigarette butts.
The force was so great that the entire office shook.
“That’s a monster with a bounty of 600 million berries, and it can cause a stir in the New World!”
As the user of the natural smoke fruit, he was once an elite who was highly regarded by the Navy Headquarters.
Smoker knows better than most people in the East China Sea what it means to be a pirate with a bounty of over 100 million.

“Who cares?” Smoker took out two new cigars from his pocket, lit them, and took a deep puff.

“Tashigi!” Smoker’s voice suddenly rose.
“Go and ‘inform’ that idiot Bartolomeo right away! Tell him that he can seek death if he wants, and he can become famous if he wants, but he must take the bugs of the Mara family and get out of Rogue Town immediately! Otherwise, I will personally send him off!”
“And, immediately! Right now! Contact the Navy Headquarters! Report the emergency and request the highest level of support!”

He glanced at Dezaia and said, “Besides, doesn’t the intelligence say that he has only a few people under his command? Is this kind of person worth being so scared of?”
“What do you know!” De Zaya was so angry that he jumped up and down. “That’s a pirate with a bounty of 600 million! He’s a monster from the Grand Line! He’s not even on the same level as those little bastards from the East China Sea!”
“Pirates, what’s the difference?” Bartolomeo sneered and picked his ears again, “De Zaya, you can’t think that pirates are great just because you are a pirate too.”
“After all, the difference between us is that you are on the sea and I am on land.”
He puffed out his chest and looked around at his fellow brothers with pride: “This is Rogue Town! It’s my territory! If Mo Ze dares to come, I will make him never come back! Let him see what a real black hand is!”
A group of minions immediately screamed like ghosts and wolves: “Yes! The boss is mighty!”
“Boss is right. Wait until we kill that unknown tyrant.”
“Let those pirates know how powerful our Balto Club gang is!”
De Zaya felt powerless as he looked at this group of idiots instigated by Bartolomeo.
She took a deep breath and tried to make a final effort: “Bato, listen to my advice, it’s different! It’s really different! The Grand Line…”
“That’s enough!” Bartolomeo interrupted her impatiently, “Your Candy Pirates, apart from traveling to more places than me, how can they compare to my Balto Club?
“We now cover more than 80 streets in Rogue Town! Can you do it?”

De Zaya looked at him like this, opened his mouth, but in the end it just turned into a silent sigh.
She knew that things could not be undone.
